Not sure what the hype is about this place. The food is mediocre, the staff is nice though. The atmosphere needs to be updated, the chips and salsa - well you are charged extra for more than one bowl - and it was ok, I can make better salsa. The enchiladas which from reading other reviews is the rave, I got these- they were ok, again nothing to write home about. Cheap tex mex with good customer service in a small outdated place... its ok but not worth going back

Manzanas Enchiladas y Mas
Great enchiladas but plain rice and beans.... Its worth a trip
texmex at this spot - super tasty. The service was very friendly and kind. The place has a great feel to it. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I liked.
The Margaritas here are absolutely phenomenal. They're super strong! The fajitas were very good too. For two margs and fajitas with a tip was $18.
Great enchiladas! Good service. It gets pack at lunch tho. And good prices
My favourite restaurant. Great enchiladas and strong margaritas
My favorite place for Mexican food. Simply great enchiladas.
If you don't get the enchiladas here...you're crazy! Small local feel. Hardworking staff. No frills, straight up Mexican food.
Rude servers!! Food is great, but over the past year they have lowered the portion size to a lot smaller for the same price. Place is going down hill!
Great food and friendly staff. Get there early or you may have a long wait.
This place is a local favorite. If you try to go during lunch, be prepared to wait. I've had delicious Migas here before, but the last time I went with a co-worker, both of us has intense stomach aches. It could be a fluke, but I'm not ready to try again. FYI We thought it was the cheese.
Authentic Tex-Mex food with the the standard Tex Mex options one expects--strong frozen margaritas, chips and salsa, fajitas, carne guisada, tacos, and enchiladas of course. The food was fast and very good, especially with regards to the piping hot cheesy enchiladas. You can't go wrong with the Comida Regular or any of the combination plates. My only disappointment was with the service, which I would classify as "present" but kind of oblivious. We ordered two Comida Regulars and a plate of carne guisada tacos, which was way more than the two of us could even think about finishing. Our fault, we were famished and had big eyes. We didn't even touch the tacos because the cheesy goodness of the enchiladas distracted our attention. We were too full but happy to take everything home. I hardly ate half of my Comida Regular and then scraped what was left from her plate onto my plate. Our server asked if we needed a couple of boxes, and we said yes. She then took my plate of enchiladas away, which I took to mean she'd box up for us. Nope. She returned with one styrofoam box and nothing else. We boxed out tacos up and waited, then realized that our server had probably just thrown away our plate of enchiladas. If it was a quarter of a plate, well maybe i would understand. However, I had a 3/4 full plate of food which any reasonably attentive server would assume to ask about before throwing away. I brought it up at the register and they offered to replace it of course, but I'd rather the server have a little more common sense and awareness than for us to have to wait around for them to replace the food we already paid for.
It was too noisey. I asked the waiter for 2 beef enchildas with beans and rice. And got two tacos instead. Later I asked the same waiter what did I order he said "A number 2". Looking at the menu #2 is two tacos. Too noisey all he heard was "2".
The food was great. It was my first time there great atmosphere great staff very friendly
TexMex... excellent. visited on sat i believe. this place has a cool atmosphere.
Simple. They have the best cheese enchiladas in Austin. Not any close seconds.
Comida regular...... They're back and better than ever.
You could get a 5 star rating if you could just have ANY atmosphere at all! Last time I visited, the AC was dripping on me. The waitress move me, and it still dripped on me! Great fajitas, drinks, and breakfast!
My Mans favorite enchiladas place and my favorite margarita place! !! Y'all have my vote
Friendly staff. Highly recommend the margaritas. Salsa is nice and spicey (if you're into that kind of thing).
A hole in the wall experience. Your shouldn't visit for the decor but the margaritas and migas are good stuff.
Love these guys. Serve, drinks and food delicious.
Not amazing. Just something to eat when your'e hungry. Didn't feel clean.
A favorite! Cheap, fresh, and delicious. Family-owned. An Austin staple!
Servings are pretty small here compared to other Mexican restaurants. The food was not bad. Most places you get a lot more for the price. Salsa was very spicy. Not the best chips.
Best enchiladas in the Austin area. And the rest of the offerings are great, too.
Some of the BEST i've ever had!! Cannot wait to go back
Food is fresh and hot! Fast service, great eating! I highly recommend for those looking for a taste of Mexico in Austin.
Best Tex-Mex food in Austin...great prices and the amount of food is a lot...there not to is, " never trust a skinny cook " ....awesome salsa and chips....great drinks and sweet tea...
My favorite spot in town! Best fajitas and margaritas
Solid Tex Mex and the margs are deadly in the best way
Always delicious food for a great price! Margaritas pack a punch :)
Cozy, little family-owned restaurant. Every seat is full whenever I visit. Salsa is HOT! But I love the flavor. Food is tasty, margaritas are so yum. Not to be missed. Been in business for quite awhile...over 20 years???
Food is good, but the service is terrible. They gave us the wrong order, and instead of taking it back to fix it... they tried to make us pay for it. She came back to the table, and acted like she didn t give a damn.
Service is meh. Food isn't very good. Not sure why anyone would eat here, you could just make the food at home in like 10 minutes.
The food and service is great...thank u family owned operation
The food was not has good as before or hot. It was cold. The ladies bathroom was dirty an smelled bad. Also, there was something on the floor that looked like a dead snake
Slushy Rita's are a must :) the food is ok they give out big portions but nothing too fancy. they also don't try and advertise as anything fancy. Good prices, good drinks, friendly and prompt staff I never had any problems but I also don't set my expectations too high.
This place was amazing! Perfect for getting your mexican food fix on!!
We have been going into the restaurant for many years. We always had gotten good service and good food until recently. The food has been hit or miss and the service as well. Twice I have had them tell me what I ordered is not on the menu and it is. They literally argued with me about it. Today we were in there and the service and food at best was ok. We were overcharged for our food. Our drink order was incorrect. The food was lukewarm. This is very disappointing.
This place isn't going to win any awards for ambience or interior design, but if you want some plain ol' (good!) Mexican food served quickly in North Austin, this is your best bet.
Cheese enchiladas with onions and tex-mex sauce are the best in town.
This has always been a go-to place for Tex-Mex lunch and great margaritas and be ready to wait in line at lunch time!
Just as I remember it. Good food
Best margaritas! Also love their chicken fajitas and enchiladas.
If you've never been here before, please, please, stay away. You're just one more table getting between me and enchiladas. Just because this place sets THE standard when it comes to salsa, fajitas, and margaritas doesn't mean us regulars want any extra folks adding to the lines. It doesn't matter that the wait is worth it, regardless of length. Just avoid this place to begin with, it will save you a new restaurant addiction and save me 10 minutes getting my dinner.
My fav Enchilada place. They treat you like family.
The best place to get enchiladas and the fajitas are so de-lish! Excellent margaritas!
It's a four star Mexican joint because it doesn't play around. The people who have rated this place highly understand and appreciate what it has to offer. The people who rated it poorly walked in with a grossly misunderstood idea of what their meal and experience will consist of. Overall solid food, atmosphere isn't 10/10, but that's not why people come here. Had breakfast here today, Huevos Ranchero and Migas w/ chorizo and cheese added. The bacon (added ala carte) was crispy, the eggs were cooked just right, and overall my girlfriend and I were not disappointed. We arrived at opening to a full crowd of old timers and family folk who also understood what was immediately apparent to the both of us. This is an old school small town Mexican place in a town that continues to get bigger an bigger. We will come back to try some fajitas and margaritas on another day!
An amazing lil place. It was packed! I never would have expected a small place to attract such a crowd. The down side for me was there was no Menudo or horchata so it's not authentic but its still a nice lil place
Margaritas are Super Good!, Text Mex 100%, loved their salsa, staff is pretty attentive, wished they used shredded beef.
It's been awhile since we've eaten here, but the food was not at all like it used to be. Today it was sub par.
We just moved from south Austin to north Austin and found this place not far from us. It is clearly a local favorite as the place was packed even late on a Wednesday. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and the service was great. The frozen margaritas were basically liquid but they were tasty and strong. My partner was not a fan of the fajita chicken and after tasting it I probably would not recommend it either.
