Food is great but the portions have gotten much smaller on the fajitas.
Food is great but the portions have gotten much smaller on the fajitas.
I love the feel of this place, but the food was just "meh." It wasn't bad, but I've had better....tried two different dishes: enchilads and tacos, and have to say I wasn't impressed.
Kind of cool place. Been around forever. Eaten there a couple of times and has better than average food.
The BEST homemade TexMex in Austin! These guys used to be "Casita Jorge's". It is always so fresh. Lettuce and tomatoes, avocados as fresh as it gets! We were there on a Friday evening and there was an hour wait, tells you how good it is if people are willing to wait over an hour!
Great service, food is better than average! Hidden spot but it gets packed on the weekends.
Good enchiladas, gooood margaritas! Fast service. Was super packed, that's how you know it's going to be good!
Awesome enchiladas! Their salsa is delicious and spicy.
Honestly it should just be Enchiladas es Todo. Yes, the enchiladas are good, but the rest is just blah. The three stars is being charitable.
Best margaritas in Austin! And strong!
Best beef fajita meat I've had.
The enchiladas Arredondos (now called Rancheros) go back to Day 1. The best in Austin, bar none
Great Margaritas, smokin good hot sauce, life saving enchiladas.
This place is good. Service is good, always get a table right away. The food is pretty cheap compared to other places around. I like the cheese enchiladas and the breakfast taco. Friends say the fajitas are great. Nice little neighborhood place. The waitress always remembers what me and my two buds order every time. Nice.
Awesome no-frills tex mex. Had the fajitas and queso... both were great. The margaritas are deadly. Will def go back.
The fajita nachos were literally 2 crunchy taco shells broken into pieces with a very small serving of meat. Their lunch specials are also garbage because instead of the listed price of $8, they charged $16. Color me surprised when my check didn't add up. The only reason they get 2 stars is because I liked the hot sauce with the complimentary chips
First time there was awesome n been going there since really enjoy the food everyone is so. awesome.
New place for me great food to enjoy.
They are back and it's the same as it ever was, maybe even slightly better.
The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. We did wait for an hour, so I would suggest signing in, and finding a comfortable place to wait. They'll call you when your table is ready. If you're looking for a nice buzz, the frozen margs is where it's at!
Always great! Fast, friendly, and great prices on food for both quality and portion size. Tasty margaritas and cheap! Especially at happy hour.
Not all that. I guess it gets the crowd due to the cheep drinks for the Gringos.
The customer service makes up for the quality of food.
I usually get the enchiladas from here and they are the bomb. Portions are big and the prices are reasonable compared to other places with the same menu selection. It's a fairly well known establishment that's pretty small but worth the wait if you are dining in.
Use to love this place until my money got stolen off my table before the waitress could come get it "I guess". FYI never lay your money and ticket down on your table at a restaurant. This place has no cameras at all and the manager is not understanding at all. Will neve go back. When ever my colleagues would come in town I would tell them about this place well next again. Casa Garcia you most definitely have my business for now on
A hidden gem.
Owner Robert does a great job. Be patient, it's worth the wait.
My favorite enchilada place in Austin. The enchiladas are smothered in sauce and cheesy goodness. The sauce is soo good and the salsa is spicy yummyness. The restaurant itself is small and not the most pleasing to the eye but the food makes it all worth it!
Although it can get VERY crowded here at times, it's certainly worth going. My boyfriend says that the margaritas are delicious and I really like their food. I've had the enchiladas many times. The chicken ones can run a bit dry, but they're tasty for the most part. You also get a lot of food for what you pay - the mexican dinner comes with lot of food and it's only $9! The servers are really down to earth and every time I go here, it feels like I'm being served by old friends!
One of my favorite places when I'm craving Enchiladas. I always get a Enchilada plate with a Crispy taco on the side. The food is always piping hot!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city!! Enchiladas are amazing, but pair them with a rocks margarita, and it will be a great afternoon.
"Never trust a skinny cook!" And for good reason! They have the BEST migas and queso! Great hole in the wall place for some great Tex-Mex food. A must visit!
Food is always great no matter what I get or when I go.
Great enchiladas! Salsa a bit spicy, but I'm sure a lot of people like it that way.
So glad they're back open! Food is as delicious as it was before the shut down. Still missing their breakfast tacos tho.
If you're looking for a chain, this is not the place to go. But if you're looking for a friendly old oldfashionned Enchilada, you're going to enjoy it.
This is my favorite TexMex restaurant in Austin, Texas. The food is always hot and delicious!
Best service ever, and the amazing Mexican food doesn't hurt.
Ate there one time and that was one mistake I never made again. Before I finished my plate my stomach started getting nauseous and by the time I got home I was throwing up in my yard. I only lived 3 blocks away. What really made me mad was 2 cooks kept watching me every time they came to the window to put plates up. I worked in the restaurant business for 12 years so this made me think they put something in the food but I didn't see them do it so couldn't say anything. I didn't see them looking at anyone else eating they came up with plates and looked straight at me. So long to that roach infested place.
The enchiladas didn't have any flavor and the rice and beans were very dry. It's so filthy dirty that I cannot believe they're allowed to continue to operate as a restaurant.
Great beef enchaladas ( best around town )and the margaritas ain't bad either
Some of the best Mexican food in Austin Texas. Incredible salsa and the plate portions are huge! Consistantly delicious and always enjoyable. Underrated, classic unpretentious eatery.
Such great food!! The rice is to die for and enchiladas are yummy and if you used to like El Patio in Austin then you will love the enchiladas they almost taste the same but better! Tried the migs recently and it is so good!! Service is fast and super attentive. The only bad thing is the parking and maybe the salsa is a little bit too spicy. Other than that this place rocks!!!
Excellent Tex-Mex. Can be loud and usually a wait to be seated, but worth the wait. Strong margaritas. Hot sauce is spicy. Locally owned.
Super as always. I have been going to Enchiladas y mas for over 20 years. The food taste as good now as it did then.
We got the 2 fajita taco plate "chicken" it was delicious and there was enough chicken to make 2 more tacos! We split the plate and were both full. Very good 5 stars.....
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is it! Margaritas here are LIFEeeeeee my goodness you only need two!
Some of my favorite Tex-Mex in town. I've been coming here longer than they've been in this building. Favorites include the queso (a must!), carne guisada (best I've had), fajitas, and cheese enchiladas. The margaritas are strong but not smooth; favorite is mango (I generally drink top shelf on the rocks). Always a wait, especially at peak times. Come early or late to avoid crowds/lines.
Ridiculously over priced Tex -Mex. Since I paid literally twice what I should have, they lose two stars for that. I've heard that they even charge extra for salsa & chips if you want a refill? Really???
In terms of ambience it gets a big fat ZERO. Generic stacking chairs, folding tables and no interior decoration or background music worthy of any mention whatsoever. Subtracting one more star for lack of ambience...
Service was decent and I was not charged for a refill of iced tea, so they will retain a star for that.
The food was also decent, so they will also retain an additional star for a grand total of two stars.
So why is this place still in business? I can only speculate that the newly arrived Californians haven't figured out that they're paying twice what they should be paying....
THE BEST ENCHILADAS INTHE US. THEY USE REAL GRADED CHEESE . I RATE IT A 5 STAR.
Had breakfast, huevos rancheros, they were good, coffee was weak. I will have to go back and try lunch.
Always amazingly great food and service! Even for my picky self they always get everything perfect!!
I have called this place 6 times today since i placed my order at 2:15 pm and and couldn't get through until 8 in the evening. Robert the manager tells me there is nothing he can do about my order being wrong and doesn't understand why my call hasn't gone through because they took twenty orders. Yes they actually told me this! Talk about poor customer service. I could understand if i ate cheese enchiladas but seeing that I do not, I am livid! Don't waste your time and money here unless you're dining in. (Your order is/will not be guaranteed)
The enchiladas are great. The food is reasonably priced and they are very quick. You need to avoid lunch rush hour or the wait time will be long.
I have never had the enchiladas but the fajitas for two is what you need to shoot for and was it down with several margaritas.
Great, very strong margaritas. Sub par food. In desperate need of renovations. I only go cause my boss likes it so much. I would never willingly go on my own to this restaurant. If they ever get better parking and a bigger, cleaner dining room and a bathroom with more than 1 stall then maybe....
Excellent food. Very inexpensive. Margaritas are good.
My wife and I have been coming here for over 10 years. The food is fantastic, friendly staff and the margaritas are the best we've ever had.
Was the second option for the evening, should have been the last. Saw the name repeating on Austin's Reddit so we gave it a shot. The place seemed packed so we expected a decent experience but unfortunately the food was less than satisfying. I must say the staff were all polite and respectful so it wasn't a totally horrid experience, just suboptimal food and seating.
We visited on a Saturday night. Big crowd, 10 minute wait so not a big deal. We were seated to the back left from the entry point and I'm not sure if that's the bar or if the group behind us was just standing all over but we were essentially sat in a standing crowd of people shouting and drinking. Shouting is fine, it's the weekend and the venue serves alcohol I can understand. People hovering over our table as we eat was very chaotic. I would think they can rope off an area from the bar or wherever these people were to allow those eating a few feet of space from the bar only crowd.
The food...
Chicken enchiladas. The meat could not have been seasoned. It simply is not possible that chicken was prepared in any other manner than being cooked and shredded. Extremely disappointing and stood out from under the sour cream sauce.
The $4.50 queso was a rather small portion for the price and had the consistency of watery paint. It was listed as Chile con queso pero where was the meat? Not one bit to be found in our serving.
Salsa actually had a nice lil light spice to it and perfect consistency IMO. Chips were also prepared in a nice medium manner. Not snapping mid dip but also not a burnt rock.
Again, fine service (other than the seating location) but very disappointing in all other regards.
Amazing fajitas! Very small dining area, but well worth the wait. I go there weekly!
