So, I drive by this hospital practically every day, and I've dropped some customers off in ER and Main entrance during my Uber days. I always thought that a Hospital is a Hospital, is a Hospital. Well, Not so fast grasshopper!! turns out I became an "Outpatient" guest at the Heart center a few days back for a procedure. The first thing that I have to say is the professionalism of the staff. From the Free Valet service, to Security, to admitting, and all of the rest of the staff who tended to me, including those involved with my procedure. It's hard to put into words when you are on the losing end of a battle with your bladder, on the operating table during a procedure mind you, and the male nurse didn't even skip a beat in making sure that I was able to, well, you know, uhhmm, relieve myself as if it was an expected task. My point is that when I witness such kindness, pride and passion a staff member takes in what they do, it tells me that they truly care about patients being humans as opposed to just another number going through the assembly line which is how it must feel sometimes with such a common procedure. My hat off to all who work at Manatee Memorial. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and SAFE, and specially for the Turkey Sandwich. Wow did it taste good. well, ok, so I hadn't eaten the whole day, but still, it didn't taste like cardboard!!.. for those of you reading this, know that you will be cared for with the utmost passion by everyone! Stay Well!
