Read great reviews and decided to give Mami a try. Since it was my first time I stood in line at the cashier to see if my order was ready. When I asked her about my take out order, she kinda chuckled and told me that I needed to stand at the other end of the counter and then she went to check on my order. She told me my order wasn't ready and it would be out in 3-4 minutes, cool. As I stood at the end of the counter, there were two guys hustling out orders and occasionally blurting out people's names. Those guys never called my name. After 7-8 minutes, I walked up to 5 or 6 bags of food on the counter trying to see if my order was ready but I couldn't distinguish one order from another. Those two guys never asked me if they could help find my order. Waited another 7-8 minutes, never heard my named called. Finally, the girl at the cash register looks at me and walks to the back, then, she starts rummaging thru the 9 bags of food on the counter. She looks up and tells me that she found my order. At this point, I'm not a happy camper. I waited 15-18 minutes and no one told me that my food was sitting right in front of me. It's like a Mexican fire drill inside Mami's place. Soggy chicken skin, ordinary beans and rice, and weird chicken soup. I don't get it but I don't think Mami really cares what a first time customer thinks. I know one thing Mami, I won't be back.

I got the half chicken and was surprised to taste how dry it was - considering the other reviews. Flavor was great but I was expecting something moister. My dog ate it. She loved it. Beans were meh but I did like the fried Yucca and the rice was very moist. Won't be back - too far from home for mediocre.

Roasted chicken, black beans, rice - a perfect trio for take-out any night of the week. My family and I find the food at Mami Nora's on Wake Forest Road to be consistently delicious. Each dish is cooked and seasoned to perfection and the green sauce, which has a definite kick, and the white sauce, are both outstanding! The service is friendly, efficient, helpful. Great food.

This is my second time coming to this restaurant and have been pleased with both. The customer service is as good as the food! (Which is pretty good). The items on the menu are reasonably priced. So, if you're looking for a new restaurant to try AND want quality food/service, this is your place!

I have no idea what took me so long to go to Mami Noras but I can say for a fact I will be back often. I've gone twice so far and ordered different plates- both delicious. The chicken is cooked perfectly, so much flavor on the skin, meat very moist and shreds nicely. For sides I've tried yellow corn, tostonas, white rice and black beans. The rice and beans are a perfect side every time. I recommend trying the two house sauces near the drink foundations. There is a sweet mustard yellow sauce as well as a green spicy sauce. It is so spicy but so good, I cant stop eating it.

WhenI first start going to mami noras it was lovely the food is great and it was comfortable. This location is now run down the windows are filthy. The food also went from great to mediocre. Yet the prices went up not a family friendly environment. I'm told that this one is closing I say good riddance to bad rubbish.

Fresh rotisserie chicken full of flavor. Great as a family dinner if you're trying to stick to a budget but get a lot of food. The only downfall is they give you one green sauce in one yellow sauce when making to-go orders. If you want more they will charge you extra for each additional sauce. I've dined at other Peruvian eatery' s where sauces were unlimited. Other then that, I do enjoy the convinence of the location. Staff is also friendly.

The reviews speak for themselves. You won't find a tastier charcoal rotisserie chicken anywhere! Can be a little slow getting food but only because so many other people are there for the best charcoal chicken in Raleigh. Well worth the wait, give it a shot for dinner tonight!

Mami Noras is one of those places where you go to satisfy a real craving for chicken. Seasoned and cooked perfectly, their chicken is hard to beat. They also have some pretty good sides. They have a sweet coleslaw that's pretty hard to beat. I would highly recommend trying it. You get a pretty hefty portion for your order, so it's great value. Enjoy!

Got the half chicken, rice, soup and sweet plantains to go. The point of sale staff was very professional. There was a bit of a line but it moved pretty fast. The order was also prepared in a reasonable time. The food was extremely delicious. The portion sizes were average. Not too little, but not to much.

The service is absolutely TERRIBLE. Second time in a row they made both items in our order wrong. When it happened the first time and they refused to fix it, I was in a hurry and let it go. I assumed it was just a bad night. We tried again last night and had the exact same experience. Our order was to swap the fries for only rice on a Pollo Saltado...the same thing we've ordered there for years. There's no reason on earth this should have been an issue!!!

It was a great place about a year ago.
They had a good quality of food but instead improving it they decided to lower the product costs instead keeping the good quality.
The Yuca used to be a wonderful one but now it seems to be old, not fresh one. I asked to the cashier why the yuca was not testy anymore, she just said" they changed the brand to lower costs!!!! And it is not just for the yuca, in general they had a poor quality food now!!!

The menu is very simple here--it's all about the rotisserie chicken, which is a little smokey and very flavorful. I also always get some yucca fries. Some people love the fried plantains.

Just great food, and a great place to hang out with friends.

I discovered Peruvian food later in life...but I love it. Bonus, one of my wife's closest friend grew up there, so we now have Peruvian night at our homes. So I have become particular about Peruvian flavors (such as the pepper), and this place is great. What is lacks in fancy, it makes up in great flavor at a reasonable price. Cashiers are fluent in Spanish and English too.

Mami Nora s used to be fantastic; the original Peruvian chicken restaurant with attentive staff, clean facilities, and pleasant experiences all around. The general tenor began to change about a year ago. I heard this is attributable to new managers/owners, but can not verify. However, the decline has surely continued. I have gone back a few times with the hope of the restaurant getting its act together and returning to how things were. That has not happened. I went with a group of guys last night. The tables were dirty, staff and attentive, and the floors sticky. One of the staff sat down at an empty table, put her head down and slept without assisting any customers. It was very uncomfortable and generally reflective of where the restaurant is I will not be back. I strongly recommend other, Peruvian chicken restaurants that have definitely replaced this one as the preeminent option (Viva Chicken, Ill-Pacca, etc.)

The best tasting chicken, black beans and rice, and green beans I've ever tasted!! The green spicy sauce is awesome with the chicken. If you want quality food such as this then expect to wait about 5 to 10min longer for your food during the lunch and dinner rush hour times. Quality food takes a little longer but its definitely worth the wait. This place is so good its going VIRAL. It won't be long before this place has a chain across the Southeastern United States

This place is somewhat of a niche restaurant but that's perfectly okay because they nail it. The chicken is amazing: tender, juicy, tasty. The fries, plantains, and other sides are just as good and freshly made. We even loved the dipping sauces. Highly recommended if you're not looking for anything fancy, just a satisfying, well-cooked meal.

You CANNOT go wrong with ANYTHING from Mami Noras. I especially like to get plantain with the green sauce. Really sweet meets very spicy. LOVE IT. No one else does black beans and rice like them and their green beans are to die for too.

If you have an event/party coming up, order a dozen of the caramel cookies. Everyone will RAVE about them.

Even my 19 month old baby girl scarfs up her black beans and rice.
