Amazing meal from start to finish. Our waiter, Diego, made the entire night even more pleasurable. We had the empanadas, chorizo, skirt steak, ribeye, pork chops, and a few different desserts. Everything was amazing. Gorgeous romantic setting in a nice area in the city. I will be coming back for sure.

The food was incredibly good, and we had a great time. The steak was one of the best I've had in my life. Our waitress was very nice, and the atmosphere made you feel like you were really in Argentina.

Wonderful meal. We tried many dishes and enjoyed them all. My husband had the lobster ceviche-awesome! I do not usually care for ceviche but it was flavorful and delish. He also enjoyed the skirt steak, which was seared to perfection and tender. I had the Malbec chicken which was tender and the Malbec sauce so flavorful. Also, the serving was huge. Desert was tres leches cake and flan. We'd recommend both! Our waitress was attentive and very sweet.

Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Malbec is one of a kind and it shows. The food is cooked and served with love. The staff is magnificent and make Malbec the wonderful place that it is. The owner is amazing and puts a lot of effort along with love into making the place simply the best. I only wish the best for Malbec and want to see it succeed. Malbec deserves the best. If you want good food, over the top service and a quality dining experience, Malbec is your place.

The best skirt steak ever!!!

The best skirt steak ever!!!
The owner and staff are so sweet and endearing. The food is delicious. The ambience is everything! Outdoor seating is available! We got to see the double decker buses, horse carriages and farmers market during our meal. Perfect for tourists or your everyday Philly native. Our server Khaloun made our meal feel right at home. Perfect for families or couples! Try this restaurant you won t regret it!!

The food is good, but I didn't appreciate the service. Sent back an appetizer and main dish because both were wrong. Know how frustrating it is for your whole group to be served while you're waiting on your meal to eat WITH your dinner party? #fail

I had high expectations for this place but it was a big let down. The chicken was dry and had no flavor. The morcilla and beef we okay. I been to a lot of Argentinian restaurant and had much better food than this.

Cozy atmosphere, a little tight spaces. But the taste of the food very well. For the moment of the dessert to be grilled Argentina you can not miss the sweet or crepes of milk, you find it as a pancake. Very delicious everything.

Visiting from argentina, walk in and immediately I am transported by a custom drink called "Tango". Then a delicious "Empanada de Carne" and the "Chimichurri". Food is beyond amazing all together, and the service is impecable. You are sure to have an enchanted evening. And if you show up on the right night, you might also see a few Tango Dancers showcasing the "2x4".

Tried this little spot out for restaurant week. Very delicious food, nice atmosphere, great staff. Rabas (calamari) is some of the best, soup was a nice smokey flavorful of lentil and sausage, and the steak is cooked to perfection.

Have been there multiple times now. The food is excellent! Personally enjoy the empanadas and parillada the most, they are delicious! Aside from the food, the service is one of a kind. The employees are all very welcoming. It's a pleasure to spend quality time at Malbec!

Ribeye was great, I don't think I would get it with the blue cheese again because it overpowered the perfectly cooked steak. My better half liked the Branzino. Great ambiance and killer red wine list with prices between $37 and opulence. Will definitely be back.

Located in a quaint Philadelphia neighborhood this place does not live up to the refined food standard it strives for. The food is decent, but nothing impressive. Empanadas are solid, but overpriced. Meat and fish are edible, but nowhere near the quality the same money will get you in NYC. Mashed potatoes on the side were underwhelming. Drinks we tried were pretty nice.
Bottom line: an okay place to come as long as you're not the one paying. Would not come again.

Ended here on accident, but I enjoyed it. The staff were super friendly and attentive, even when it got busy. They have a great drink selection and interesting appetisers. Wish the menu had a bit more variety and something more unique. It felt a bit expensive for what it was as well.

This place has a cozy and welcoming feel to it. It has a happy ambiance! This is good for meeting with friends or for a date night. The staff are so friendly and helpful. And yet, the food here is the real star. For appetizers we tried the empanadas, the calamari, the lentil and chorizo soup. The empanadas were crispy and light. The sauce provided with them added the perfect bit of flavor and spice. The calamari were crispy. The soup was thin but flavorful, the chorizo was not spicy. For our main course we both the steak a la parrilla. The steaks were cooked perfectly, one rare and one medium. Lastly, we tried the tres leches cake and the Argentinian Flan. So good! Also, we got wine at their happy hour prices. All in all, this was a fantastic meal!

Horrible!! Just horrible! Food is ok but the service is awful and their drinks are way overpriced for 2 sips cause they give you all ice! I paid $40 for 2 drinks and an empanada! Horrible!!! Over priced and understaffed!

After visiting Argentina, I was excited we were getting a similar-style restaurant. One of my absolute favs in Philly. I was there for opening week, and continue to go whenever I'm downtown. If out of town friends are with me, I always insist on Malbec. It is always a home run. See you guys again tomorrow to celebrate a friend's birthday!

I'd give it 5 stars if the service was better. We were told our waiter was experienced, but he wasn't able to recommend anything to us. The beef empanadas were delicious. I'm so happy I got the skirt steak as an addition to my canelones. The steak made the dish. My date had the fettuccine and thought it was really good as well. The bread pudding was amazing too. It came with a side of whipped cream and a caramel cream. The malbec wine was also delicious, even though it was $12 a glass.

Cozy place...great food, lots of shareable items: lovely place for a date.

I had steak and mashed potatoes and it was excellent. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade, which I appreciate. The flan and dulce de leche were also delicious.

For me, the thing that really set this restaurant apart from others was actually the service. I visited with friends on a busy night and our table was not ready at the time we had reserved. Everyone from the host to the wait staff to the owner himself went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome while we waited, and that treatment set the stage for the rest of our visit. Our server was incredibly attentive, and conscientous; he truly elevated the experience. It's rare that I can say that about a restaurant with such a reasonable price point!

Happy hour is a good experience, especially if it's accompanied by a live tango performance. The entrees are priced are a bit more than what I would deem necessary. The tres leches for dessert is AMAZING

This place was so nice! My husband and I spent our anniversary here and dined outside.
The chimichurri was amazing and the steaks were cooked perfect !
The hostess was amazing and put together a table for us outside even though she didn't have one out there. Our waitress was so patient when my husband could not make up his mind what he wanted to order. They also gave us a free anniversary dessert and decorated the plate to say happy anniversary!

Somewhat disappointing, eventhough the appetizer started off with a great flovor. I ordered the seafood pasta special. The waitress asked u do wanted red or white. I specifically asked for the red. I received it with white in which it pretty much just tasted of butter.

My fiance ordered the $49 steak medium well. When she cut into the steak it was cooked to rare(Perhaps that's the only way they will prepare it, if so they should specify). The waitress was no where to be seen for about 20 minutes after we received our food.I then heard the couple behind us complaining about how their food was also under cooked. They had to put both of their dishes back on the grill. That's when we decided it would have be best to just leave and never come back.

The waitress did offer to have them cook the steak some more, but who wants to chance some spit in the food. I ended having pretty much all of meal thrown away. Not really worth eating or keeping something that i didnt want in the first place. The waitress then told my fiNce perhaps she should order the steak medium well or medium plus next time. We both stared at eachother as it was ordered medium well. Perhaps that's why I ended up with the wrong sauce?

We ended up paying the bill and still leaving a good tip regardless because I'm not sure who's fault it was for the bad experience(besides the lack if service after receiving the food). I was hoping for a great meal with the great reviews, but just just had a poor dining experience. $140 later after 2 dinner entrees, 1 appetizer and 2 bottles of water.

Visited for dessert only but greatly enjoyed warm and friendly atmosphere and excellent assortment of delicacies. Creme brulee was excellent and crepes with dulce de leche were awesome. Owner was evident and watchful re: service and food.

We loved this place. Is expensive but it is worth it, for the food. The alcoholic drinks are a bit pricey. My boyfriend and I came in to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. I had the Chilean sea bass and mashed potatoes. Delicious. My boyfriend order the steak, small but it was delish. He had a salad and I forget what else. Our waitress was amazing. Everything she recommended was delish. She recommended a dessert that was crepe like and had Carmel. To die for. I had 2 cocktails and he had a beer, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. The bill came out to 130 I think and my boyfriend left her 60 dollar tip. It was worth it. Plus our waitress was on point so. My bf and I plan on coming back, for dessert.
