Makati Shagri-la Manila Review

Convenient location, nice restaurants and health club area!!

The luxury of the lobby lounge is the best in Makati. Both drinks and food are fulfilling.

Absolutely fantastic stay ,I was treated like royalty. from the moment I was picked up from the airport until I was dropped back,
Hotel was 5 star and service was one of the best I have ever received, location fantastic as well .
I would recommend to anyone to stay here. . thanks again for a great stay ,

With Shangri-la as the operator of this posh hotel, what can go wrong?

Pricey hotel, but worth it naman.

Excellent location and good business hotel. Be careful with elevators as quite old.

Efficient, friendly staff support overall, including replacing a faulty blow-dryer, emptying the fridge to give room to our own supplies, providing harder pillows.

It was always a very pleasant stay at Shangri-La hotels. Nice service and friendly people. They let you feel that you are really an important guest.

I didnt feel the warm accomodation of the
Staff esp at the lobby. Nobody even tried to approach us to carry our bag. I feel like nobody wants us LOL. The digital box and safety box are not working which is very frustrating. How can the Room attendant or engineering staff missed to check these units? The staff from new world hotel makati is far beyond yours. They are very accomodating nad helpful even if you are not damn famous or super duper rich. I guess the hospitality is not being practiced in Makati. Maybe because they dont need it though as far as they are not concerned. We ve been to boracay but they seemed nicer and approachable. Anyway, at least we ve tried to experience Makati service which i guess will be our fisrt and last visit.

Cospa is good.
The lounge is free to use for 24 hours, and the concierge can arrange anything for you. WiFi is also smooth and comfortable.

Exellent service. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Great dining options. Breakfast buffet is a must. Location is great! Overall, had a wonderful stay at Makati Shangri-la and would recommend this wonderful hotel.

Location is this hotel main selling point, very near to malls, offices, makati ave. Check in and check out was excellent, hotel provided me room as per my request (high floor, city view).
Whats can be improved is the bedding quality, i've stacked up 4 pillows just to feels a bit comfort. Toiletries can be improved!
Breakfast quality in overal quite good.
Concierge staffs showing unpleasant feeling when i asked them to help me packing my carton box even though they did it.

Welcome fruits are not in good quality. No bidet in cr. Overall experience though is still excellent.

Would definitely rate 5 stars for it is obvious that a 5 star hotel like this got all the luxury and facilities. Only missing thing is bidet in bathroom toilet for typical indian like me. Breakfast was descent. Specifically veg food was nice. Posh entrance hall is great welcome to luxurious hotel. Ball room, swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, smoking lawn, tennis courts are all so nice and equipped with modern amenities. Fantastic stay, expensive but l ll look forward to visit here.

Excellent service....the only problem is that I have not received the bill that I have paid. Elena told me that she would send it by email.

Great service, though the place is getting a bit aged

What works:

1. Not having to stand at the desk for check in but having someone greet me and take me straight to my room.

2. Good transportation arrangement.

3. Breakfast arrangement.

What does not work:

1. Perhaps to consider varying a bit of the breakfast buffet offering as people who stay there longer will typically get tired of seeing the same foods.

2. Room was not clean. I found hair particularly in the toilet area. Long hair and definitely not mine.

3. The bath towels smelled like they have not been dried properly and have a bot of an odour.

4. Check out could be more flexible especially late check outs.

I love the food on the buffet section. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a dinner..

It is a very luxurious hotel to walk into the staff is super friendly and you get a very good service here also they had live music playing in the lobby..that gave a very good atmosphere

We appreciate the free wifi at the whole premise of the hotel also the early check in & late check out. I love the great selections of fruits at breakfast and the very gracious staff

There is no bidet in the bathrooms. I strongly recommend that bidets be installed even in your standard or deluxe rooms, and in your common bathrooms. Filipinos don't just wipe, but we wash first before we wipe.
Maybe the carpet in the rooms need to be either replaced of deeply vaccuumed. You can already demarcate where the door starts and ends, especially in the adjoining rooms.

Friendly staff, top quality service, a true luxury experience

I book for two rooms for an overnight stay last December 24 for our christmas celebration, the rooms that we got are room 1501 and 1530. the rooms are very dirty i still have the pictures in my mobile, there s a thick collection of dust under our bed, the steam iron is not working and the plug near the lamp is not functioning as well. i tried to report it to the staff but they are all busy even the complementary fruit is refilled only when we are in the room already.

Great hotel. Value seems a bit lower than some competitors, but still a good option.

Only went for lunch but good food at the Japanese restaurant. Fantastic gallery at the mezzanine level which was alone worth the visit

I only ever choose Makati Shangri La when travelling to Manila. Once again I was not disappointed. Service, room and facilities are magnificent. I will be back.

I am a regular user of your sister hotel, EDSA Shang. They were full for part of my recent trip so I used this hotel.

Challenges I endured that to me are not worthy of a 5 star hotel and a loyal member of their Golden Circle program:
1. They kept charging us for meals that were included as part of the horizon package, had to get refunded.
2. I had to ask for my JADE level amenities, they are supposed to be put in rooms on arrival.
3. I endured a huge cockroach in my bathroom on arrival. While it was removed by the team, no one then reached back out with any complimentary Golden Circle Points, or anything else. I find that bizarre. I could have just taken a picture and shared on social media as some would do - I trusted they'd take care of me.
4. The prices are not aligned compared to EDSA for what you get. The rooms are dated and both in-room and breakfast food is of poorer quality and less varied than EDSA.
5. Service charge is way higher also than EDSA - why? Service is not better. Seems a very arbtirary add on.

Hotel is good. The con is that there's a need to change the carpet. Needs bidet in the washroom too. Otherwise, experience was perfect due to the hotel's excellent service

This hotel was recommended by friends and I booked 2 nights / 3 days so I could explore the makati area and . Last time I'm was here maybe 32 years ago. Centrally located and close to all the shopping areas. Greenbelt mall, glorrieta, SM makati and Ayala museum are a must. The lobby of the hotel is stunning but the rooms are really dated. It needs a total renovation. The hall way leading to the rooms feels like you are walking through an older cruise ship. We were placed on the 23th floor, only one flight up to the cocktail lounge available between 5 to 7 PM. The bed sheets were fine but the pillows need to be replaced. I have been travelling for quiet a while and I hate to compare it with some of the hotels that I've been to, however they have to keep up with the more updated hotels in the area that are similarly priced. The breakfast selection is sufficient and the hotel staff is really accommodating. Overall, I would tell my friends to check out the other hotels around before booking this one.

requested a quiet room but got a room next to some kind of shaft/lift which made noises all night.

Excellent check in experience as with all Shangri-La hotels. Driver called ahead and concierge will bring us to the rooms right away for the check in process.

Nice room, surprisingly you need a deposit upon check IN ..but when u check out you get the money back.

So far everything went well.From the front desk to our room.Room service is good,housekeeping are good.Front desk are excellent.Complimentary breakfast is great..maybe just the size of the bed..we are used to a double queen when we booked to a hotel,the size are small for us so we have to put it together.But overall everything is good.

Right from reception to Check-out was a top notch experience. Beautiful, well maintained common areas filled with wonderful sounds from various performers. Nice selection of restaurants with a grand selection breakfast buffet. The 4th floor gym, spa, tennis court, and pool offered a comfortable great selection to stay fit. We were working overnight hours so it was nice to have full service available all night in the lobby. Well done and thank you for making my time away from home so comfortable.

Worst stay I had so far. The aircon was rumbling the whole night and only after I switched to a different room was I able to rest.

It made my whole trip so tiring.

Elegant and cozy room. (But they dont have bidet on their toilet!) Food at the circle resto is great. Very helpful staff. They would knock at your room 30 mins b4 check out time asking if you wld need assistance. Great location coz malls are just walking distance from the hotel. Greenbelt for highend and designer items, glorietta for middle & upper middle class, landmark for affordable items but they have highend items as well 4 d perfumes & some other items.

I enjoyed my short stay. I especially enjoyed the luxurious beddings my check in experience with such well trained staff. I just wish there were more choices.for the breakfast buffet.

The room given to me have air-con issues and it wasn't fixed until the 2nd attempt just a night before my check-out. This cause me to suffer ultra coldness for the 3 days of stay earlier, resulting me having a flu now.

The breakfast sucks compared to the past years. Salmon sashimi have been removed from the menu and the only way to get fresh Salmon is to take lots of Salmon Sushi and manually removing the fish from the rice. Isn't this more wasteful and stupid? The manager/chef for the circle restaurant should be fired for this stupid decision that not only cause more wastefulness BUT many unhappiness among your guest who have been staying here for the past years.
