This hospital have unprofessional doctors and nurses. They give diagnosis without making sure of it. They do so many tests but still not able to find out what is the illness of the patient knowing they do have high end and expensive machineries. And one of the unacceptable things is they give medical records with totally different information, from age to gender to the illness. Our patient was brought for an operation but after that, there were a lot of complications. it is really unacceptable.

Slow service, incompetent staff, expensive, and so on. Despite having many staff members most of them appear to be relaxing rather than working. Not recommended for minor health issues, you'll be waiting a long time. If your problem is more serious it might be worth a visit.

Probably the best hospital in the country. It has the the best collection of doctors in the country. Its facilities and equipment may not be the best in the Metro but the combination of skills make this the first choice among hospitals. The only major problem is the traffic coming here any time of the day. The traffic can literally kill.

I have mixed feelings about this hospital being one of the first children born here after it opened to seeing first my grandparents then my parents, in-laws and friends spend their last hours here.

Well... With the very few instances I've been here, i always leave frustrated. I must be that unlucky. The doctor who attended to me was obviously in a hurry (considering he was the one who was late), he didn't give proper instructions. Ako pa ang nahiya na nakakaabala ako sa oras niya only to realize when I left that I wasnt able to ask that much and was clueless as to the next steps after taking the meds he prescribed. I got the same word in mind like another reviewer here - dismissive. Another instance, I went to the er just to get first aid for my infected wound, and oh well, another dismissive experience. My wound dressing when i came in was even better compared to what the er nurse did. Should have known better and just went to another hospital or clinic. These are just my experiences so yours might be memorable in a positive way. As for me, before I consider this hospital again, I'd have to be out of options already.

The people administering the rabbies vaccine don't even write out a full receipt. I had to take one shot, just ONE shot for my last series of vaccine and they charged me 4,000 pesos for it. They don't even write out everything they charged. Just wrote out one lump sum. I feel like these people are robbers. This facility only cares about taking all your money. Be sure to ask how much something will cost before you accept their services. They are thieves.

My first operation done here and i had the best service from the surgeon himself, doctors secretary ,nurses, hmo rep and personells who assisted me with paperworks. Great Service. The best facility great food and very nice room fast wifi with cable tv . Complete toiletries and i hope i wont get sick again but if ever i would still choose Makati Med. Surprisingly its not too expensive. Getting sick is stressfull enough but the service they give to patients is comforting. Thanks so much.

I was diagnosed for a cataract surgery in American Eye Center but as I was having a nagging feeling about my consultation, I decided to take a second opinion in Makati Med. (A close friend recommended to me Dr. Edward Uy who operated on his cataract 4 years ago. He was extremely satisfied with the result of his operation and is no longer using eyeglasses.)

Makati Med staff were very helpful and friendly including the parking security. They are very organised and the facilities are excellent. Doctor Uy was also very patient in clarifying my concerns.

I informed him that he was my second opinion and I am already scheduled for surgery in American Eye. However, after weighing my confidence level between doctors, I've decided to have him do the surgery.

I am still recuperating from the surgery but my vision have already improved SIGNIFICANTLY! It is AMAZING. If you need to have cataract surgery - don't hesitate. Consult Dr. Edward Uy in Room 200 of Makati Med.

(You can also read my experience about American Eye Center.)

Most of the staffs are kind. It has good or better fascility. Sometimes, maybe due to high volume of clients, the processes are slow and some staffs may not be that approachable like in the Pharmacy. Issue of confidentiality & privacy has rooms for improvement. Still, one of the amazing hospital in the country.

Very expensive. There are two fees that they do not tell you about there is one doctor fee and one Hospital fee separate fees that are combined on to one bill. They will not let the patient leave the hospital until 60% of the bill is paid for. This hospital is inhumane and cares more about money than helping people. The doctors here also prescribed the wrong medication that would be contraindicated with the patient's past medical history.

More expensive than The Medical City in the short run (office visits) BUT cheaper in the long run. Doctors here are smart, whereas in THe Medical City and other hospitals, they are a few fries short of a Happy Meal. I have seen NINE "doctors" at other hospitals trying to save money. I spent THOUSANDS of pesos trying to get cured and was sick for SEVEN MONTHS!!! I think the doctors were misdiagnosing me to keep me coming back. I went to see a doctor here ONE TIME and my seven months of sickness was gone within a couple of weeks. THANK YOU for being smart!

I received outstanding service and care for extremely painful food poisoning. The nurses, doctors, and facilities are world class. This is where Bill Clinton was brought while he was president, which says a lot. It's pricey, but not outrageous like in the US, if you don't have insurance.

I've been to E.R twice. But same scenario. I've been waiting for 3 hours. At first, they lost the paper, so I waited for nothing. How many times nails asked what it is, just wait. After all, there is no paper. Bag Last Friday, the result of urinalysis 1-2 hours. After passing urine sample 3:30, Released by 3:59 !! Jusko is in the public hospital. Never ever again. So beware! Waste of time and money. Nurses and doctors are OJT! To think the expensive fee. So beware. The name Makati Waiting Center is not the Makati Medical Center.

My son had a bad foot infection, subsequently identified as ORSA, and was looked after very well, had two operations, and after his twelve day stay, headed back to his Thailand base, where he will have the stitches removed as the final part of his recovery.

Thank you to the staff on floor 8, tower 1, for all your help, efficiency and kindness.

Because I am a Japanese, I came, I wanted to see it steadily.
First of all, I tell you the symptoms with information, tell me the appropriate doctor and go to the hospital room and see it, so it is not written as "any department" like in Japan.
The doctor is kind and looks firm, but if it is Japanese, the examination fee is 2000 pesos, the blood test is 7000 pesos, the urinalysis is 700 pesos, the medicine is high depending on the person, but it is high.
However, if you plan to return to Japan, it is best to have a look here.

I brought my son to the ER due to he has difficulty breathing. His pulmonologist (from different hospital) advised us to bring my son to any hospital if that ever happens. But the pedia doctor in the ER was more curious why I did not go to my doctor since she said she does not have the medical history of my son. When I told her that our doctor advised that if my son ever had difficulty breathing (due to asthma) to go to any hospital, she answered he seems okay to me. I dont think he is having difficulties breathing. Only when I said OK if that' s what you think then we will go to another hospital. Only then did she change her attitude and a senior doctor tried to comfort us. But I decided to leave anyway.

One of the best place if you want people to ignore you. I'm speaking not only for myself but to all fellow foreigners as well.

We arrived around 1AM, and I saw bunches of other people, the Emergency was so full you barely see chairs for waiting.

I've got pass through the administration process and was asked to continue to examination room.

Lo and behold the queue was 2 hours+.
I've got examined at 3.40AM, with one of nurse who lost her temper after that.
She said to do this and that test, and wait another 2 hours to get the result.
That threw me and my husband off so bad we knew this is one of the worst hospital -especially for foreigners who's on vacation.

Sorry not sorry MMC :(

INEFFICIENT ER PERSONNEL

INEFFICIENT ER PERSONNEL
I was given an "express" number but took me more than 4hrs just for rabies booster.
Some staff show discrimination (pag mayaman ka, priority ka) and control number not being followed.
As health card holder, had to follow up the billing and only to find out that my "approved" paper was just sitting at one corner. I had to ask if I should be the one to bring my paper to the nurse station.
I had same experience before but thought it was just an isolated case. It happened again (and different staff involved), so it seems this is their way of working.
At the same time, may be it's their strategy for more patients -- staging a healthy patient in the ER together with those sick patients. More sick people, more profit to the hospital.

Be careful of the doctors in the ER, where the first doctor LIED to me about my blood test results. he said everything is normal in the blood test, so we need to do CT to find out what s the problem , while the test results was clearly not normal. BUT at that time I was experiencing extreme fatigue due to dengue, and had no ability to check the results by myself, so he just took advantage of it and sent me to do CT (which is harmful to health) and X-rays, just like running the money tread mill!! The second doc mis-diagnosed and told me I had viral infection, like a flu! Only to find out days later that What I had was dengue. Sadly I was not familiar with symptoms of dengue at the time, because all signs pointed to dengue when I went to the ER. SO I WAS LIED TO, misdiagnosed in the emergency room of Makati Medical Center! Just don t want to mention other small things.
There are good doctors there, but the scum just ruined everything. The rating is for warning of the bad doctors, of course not for every doctor there.

Just recently went to the OR for cauterization and excision biopsy of two small bumps on my face. I was only prescribed pain killer for the cauterized wounds. No other instructions to change band aid regularly and put anti bacterial ointment before doing so. ( Just plain weird). What's weirder is that I found out late in my billing list that part of it is bactifree ointment 10g and cutasept solution 50 ml which I don't think was used fully . I do believe these should be given to me as patient ( these are paid supplies!) as I could use these to keep my wounds infection- free. BTW , my health card and Philhealth covered the procedure but still that does not entitle MMC not to give the important unused supplies to their patients ( who uses these after anyway?). This practice of keeping the supposed patient's paid supplies cheapens the supposed "prestigious hospital". I hope someone responsible would check this practice and put /implement related policies. For the cost of 11k, I don't think it is worth it. For those who will have OR procedure on Out Patient case, check your bill details out and I would suggest you demand for the unused medical supplies ( if such were not given by the nurse before your discharge).

I cant believe that Makati Med has a private room with manual adjustment of aircon. Where is it? On the ceiling.. you need to call the maintenance every now and then to adjust it. And the nurses, you need to call them because your swero is due for replacement. They dont monitor even their is a machine attach on it. Discharge without giving instructions. Actually there is only 1 night shift male nurse who is very helpful. Thanks to nurse Guevarra. Sana tama lang ang pagkakakatanda ko sa name nya.

Worst ER ever. The guard, doctor and nurse who "attended" to me were dismissive. They didn't give me a bed though I was complaining of pain and discomfort - there were at least 5 beds available, it was 4am and there were only 2 of us in the ER (the other one being an Asian foreigner who a nurse was literally shouting at because the patient couldn't understand his instructions in English). They didn't bother putting me in a wheelchair and made me walk to the testing rooms. Paid 3200, 1200 of which is their standard ER fee and I didn't even feel I was in an ER.

I always go to The Medical City ER. When you arrive they immediately attend to you, put you on a wheelchair, and give you a bed to rest in while waiting no matter what you are complaining of. They treat your concern as an Emergency, unlike here where they make you feel like you're such a hassle that you're making them attend to you then they charge you premium for service that is not even mediocre. Crazy.

This hospital is very unique. It is in the heart of makati city. You would noticed that the fee is very expensive. If you have a insurance card it is a little bit convenient however not all of the medical insurance is being accompanied. It has a lot of options for restaurant. Cute doctors and nurse to be specific. Friendly and accomodating.

My sister who is 35-36 weeks pregnant came to Maka...

My sister who is 35-36 weeks pregnant came to Makati Medical Center due to measles (tigdas). They traveled all the way to Makati medical center from Antipolo City seeking for emergency medical help due to other hospitals refused to treat and admit her, but that's a different story. I am thankful that they accepted her. However, they had her sitting on a wheelchair waiting for the 20k pesos deposit before they could admit her to the isolation/quarantine room. They didn't even give her any treatment like the IV until they receive the deposit. They didn't have any money nor had money; I had to send money to one of my sisters and had her take the money to Makati medical for the deposit.
Furthermore, their Lab-test is like 60 times more than the DOH listed rates and fees for Lab-test. Also, instead of testing my sister for measles the fact that she has all the measles symptoms; they tested her for dengue which costs 3660 pesos. Please see this review on Makati Medical Center Facebook page. I have attached some snapshot photos of the release that the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte signed an Anti-Hospital Deposit Law back on August 5, 2017. It is also illegal to turn away any patients seeking for medical help regardless of any conditions by any clinics, public, and private hospitals. Please be aware of your legal rights as patients. Read the attached photos. All I want is to prevent this from happening again to anyone and all of the people out there that are seeking for medical care regardless of their status in life. I am speaking out on behalf of my sister that doesn't know about her legal rights as a patient. I hope this will help or give awareness to other people out there also.

There are days late patient food. Once you do not give food because you are busy, then there is no follow up food because it is said to be over time. No deliveries allowed. They said that a messenger could come up. Now everyone is gone. The guard did not want to talk but the guard was fighting with the deliverer. The new memo says relatives and visitors can bring nh food. Now, Not even son in law of patient allowed to increase supply do not want to enter. Your hungry patients are paying 10k for a room per night plus other charges. When you check the bill everything is way overpriced and prices were changed after lockdown. Then there is just no hot water in the shower. 4 days ago the patient should have been discharged. Up until now. You left your patients on the air. There were not even rounds of doctors for days. Now, more than 12 hours. The billing is not over yet?

Ok....

Ok....

Here in Makati Medical hospital and it has been the worst visit from 530am until now at 1230am.

To start; the idiotic administration asked, while I was clutching my heart, if I could go to the bank and get money to secure any treatment. I understand this procedure but the moronic administrator could not have cared less about me and my condition and demanded I go and retreave the money. I unplugged myself and went to talk to her. She was nowhere to be found. She even hung up on me on the phone.

All day long I have complained about pain and was patted on the head and told to lay still.

The nurse had the gall to actually tell me they were too busy to deal with me and that he would come back later to check on me.

While the nurse interviewed me before admission, she refused to let me speak. Interrupting my answers to fill out the paperwork quickly. The Ill educated did the exact same thing. Too busy to actually LISTEN to the patient.

After falling asleep for 15min after 48 hours of no sleep, I woke up still in horrific pain. I finally blew my top and asked my dr to get me a REAL dr.

After screaming, stomping my feet and threatening the staff to do their job they FINALLY offered pain medication.

Here is the kicker...about four years ago the exact same thing happened in this same hospital when I came in with a sinus infection.

I am exhausted here... still in pain and sleepy....i am so ready to leave this hell hole.

DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO GO TO THIS NON CARING FACILITY FOR ANY REASON. THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN YOUR WELFARE.

I went to ER @10PM January 17, 2019 and it's the worst hospital I've been to. I waited 1hr and 30min in pain due to sprained angkle. I felt pity for those kids who have fever and they needed to wait 3-4hrs for the Pedia. So I cancelled everything and went to a different hospital. This is not how you treat patient with emergency cases!!!

In 2012, I had my MRI of my cervical spine. I was given TWO ORIGINAL copies of the results plus a CD copy in a wonderful case. This year, I really feel relieved that I had kept those precious documents for SSS use. I didn't have to sweat it out to return to MMC for those documents. It pays to be conscientious with ones medical records and to deal with a trusted brand!
