Excellent place. Really a return to the past. The menu consists of traditional food and drinks from the city. One of the best is the french toast with port wine. Because it is well known there is a small queue at the door, but it is worth the wait.

Beautiful inside, but not cozy, feel yourself like in a museum where you order super expensive food/drinks and are expected to eat it fast and leave since there are many people waiting outside in the line to get in. Stuff tries their best but is very stressful. Very over rated place.

One of the oldest cafes in Europe (they say), classic interiors, piano in the center of the room, a vast menu to satisfy all tastes, good desserts (the pasteis de nata are still served warm), coffee ok, service with white gloves .... but still a place for tourists. Coffee and croissant, about 10 each.

Horrible overpriced ham and cheese. I had the "majestic breakfast" and got a disgusting ham&cheese as if Portugal wasn't part of the Iberic peninsula. Quality of the food seems poor, however, the nice waiters and the architecture of the room made up, hence the two stars. My recommendation, have a look inside, perhaps drink an overpriced coffee and go away.

It is the most important and traditional Porto coffee. Its architecture is fantastic and is very well preserved. The attention is cordial and the quality of its products is excellent, but it is quite expensive, much more than an equivalent coffee in Oporto quality. It does not stop being a point of essential walk.

It is one of the most favorite cafes in the world, located on the famous shopping street Rua de Santa Catarina, starting from Batalha Square in Porto. First opened in 1921 under the name of Cafe Elite, this valuable place was changed to its decoration in 1923 and became Cafe Majestic. . Cafe Majestic also hosted political debates during the turbulent times in Portugal. During the period after the Second World War, the original decorative materials of the cafe were sold and the employees were laid off. The cafe, which is now about to disappear, came back to life in 1983 with the efforts of Agostinho Barrias. Even the items sold were found and recycled. This cafe, which was the meeting point of the distinguished artists of the city, is now flooded with tourists. You often have to wait in line to get in.

Expensive. The Service is done in a professional, efficient and extremely friendly way, by uniformed employees and a receptionist. Beautiful building, with old-fashioned decoration and demonstrating the best that existed in its time. Definitely a place to visit

Horrible deal. They closed at 11.30pm, we arrived at 10.50pm and they tell us that if we go in we only have 10 minutes to have coffee. This was half empty and even so they put 6 people at a table of 4. Because of the deal, we leave without taking anything.
Above that you pay for a coffee from 5 to 11 euros, the least you expect is a friendly treatment.
I put the star because of the beauty of the place, but enter only to take a photo.

Very nice place, superb typical decor, good cocktails and impeccable service! The waitresses are delivered and very attentive and very fast. The prices are more expensive than elsewhere in Portugal but the place is well worth the detour for its originality. It is very lively because it is very busy. To have!

The good: Staff were nice, building is charming. The bad: Woeful food, and high prices. I had the afternoon tea selection and every element of it was terrible apart from the sealed Earl Grey tea-bag.

They take your money and run.
Bad coffee. Average food. Too expensive. Dirty toilets. Apart from the shabbychic decor i have no idea why you should come here. Save your money.

Every year I visit the Majestic at Christmas time, and every year I am received with the utmost courtesy and sympathy by the staff. The decor is incredible, and testimony to a past era of great importance for Portuguese culture. The prices are a little high for the Oporto's pocket, but we have to understand that this is a place of marked tourist attraction, and the costs inherent to the maintenance and conservation of such a space are high.
Undoubtedly, a place to visit and revisit, a heritage of excellence that we must all know!

Mandatory stop during the visit to Porto ... the place takes you back to the past, and you get drunk by its majesty. We had to make a small queue to be able to enter (approx 10 min) .... all delicious and very attentive staff ..... yes, refrain from those who do not want to pay 5 euros for a coffee .....

It is an absurdly expensive place. The foods are delicious. Depending on the queue it is not even worth entering. When I went, the waiting time was short and, therefore, it was worth it. I recommend the almond pie, it is wonderful.

It is well worth it both for what you drink and for the incomparable modernist place. The bad thing is the tourists ... we are too many. But it is very beautiful and it gives you the opportunity to move back to that time when doing a kedada was to meet people for a good coffee with people who had things to tell.
