I really liked the salmon Benedict. Their hollandaise sauce is nice and tangy just how I like it. The pancake had crispy edges too which was awesome. And real maple syrup is always a must in my book!

Enjoyed a nice birthday celebration dinner (10/9) with family, the food was good but took quite a long time to be served, especially for such a slow night. However, after eating the (leftover) potato I had a serious allergic reaction- as I have with consumption of MSG or Sulfites. (Also had left over pasta with no problem, both within 24 hours) This can be life-threatening to many people! Please be aware of this, and disclose these allergens on the menu somewhere! Even cross-contamination can be critical. The overall service was good. Thanks!

We had a really delicious dinner here in this gorgeous historic hotel. The food was outstanding and the service was very attentive. The Trout Almondine was one of the best prepared versions and I order that often. The pasta with salmon was delicious too. I would definitely recommend for dinner.

Really interesting place, physically, but as other have mentioned; the food is mediocre at best.

My wife got eggs Benedict, and it was bland. The fruit cup came with unripe and/or soggy fruit.

I got huevos rancheros w/chorizo. It didn t come with chorizo, and it was a bland, soupy, mess.

I am dubious of this place having an executive chef, when they give you jam in smuckers containers.

Went for Sunday brunch. Four of the six people ordered a variation of eggs Benedict including myself. Would have been fantastic except for ALL of our poached eggs were WAY overcooked, as in practically hard boiled. Really disappointing because the best part of the dish is the runny perfectly poached egg and none of us got that. Service and atmosphere were great just need to teach the cook about poaching!

Steak Oscar was AWESOME! Bread served with 3 fabulous spreads, FABULOUS! Wine list, EXCEPTIONAL! That said, the dinner would not have been as enjoyable if not for our server, KAITLIN! We appreciate you soooo much!

I had reservations for 1 at 6 pm on October 23, 2020 and arrived about 10 minutes early. The host started to take me to my table and we passed 4 open tables while she took me to a table at the back of the restaurant. I asked if I could move up to one of the other 4 tables that were open which we walked past. She had to ask, once she returned she said I m sorry but each of those tables was specifically reserved. I said, You re kidding, each of those 4 customers specifically asked for one of those tables? She said yes. Unbelievable, terrible customer service. With only about 20% of the restaurant occupied and she couldn t accommodate a simple customer request. I told her I would eat somewhere else with better customer service and walked out. Went down to Chimayo had great customer service and food. Mahogany Grille Management, please send your employees to Chimayo to get trained. You should be embarrassed!

Looked so forward to Valentines dinner with my husband. Waited and waited for appetizer (crab cakes that were still frozen in the middle) salad (half hour after finishing our appetizer)finally our dinner arrived almost two hours after we got there. Spoke to the manager who offered to buy us dinner($120 bill for that service) Then we were chastised by the server who said we should have told her we were waiting that long. Really...didn't she know??? Then she offered us a coupon for a free bottle. of wine.... we don't drink and she probably should have known that because she had just spent 2 hours refilling our waters and Diet Coke. Never again!!!!

We stayed at the Strater Hotel so we decided to have breakfast here. Staff was not interested in us. Served the cappuccinos as if they were jugs of beer - including the careless overspill when put on the table. Asked for some napkins to mop it up as the waitress didn't think of it herself. Received a saucer to place under the mug and on the spilled cappuccino.... The standard breakfast of eggs, hash browns and eggs was absolutely tasteless. Do not understand how you can get that wrong. When we were finished, the waitress presented us with the bill without even asking if we had another wish. We are not high maintanance (apart from our wish for extra napkins and standard food) and felt carelessly treated. Sure, we are tourists - but the touristy stuff seems to be one of the main incomes for this town so: please don't make us feel so extremely touristy and unwelcome. And get the waitress a tray, please.

The place is beautiful. The servers are very helpful.
We had breakfast.
We got cold coffee
The sausage gravy just tasted awful...how do you ruin sausage Gravy?
They used poor quality ingredients for the biscuits, the cream of tartar really ruined the whole dish.
The country potatoes were cold, stale, chewy. I heard other tables make the same complaint. There's just not enough Ketchup to save it.
The ham was full of gristle, what part of the pig did they get that from?
The toast was decent. My over medium eggs were runny???
The home made strawberry jam was OK. (simply crushed strawberry served in a one tablespoon serving dish.)
I had high hopes, but I won't be back for Breakfast

Hotel restaurant. Anyone who raves about the flavor profile must have had some cannabis before their meal. "Adult candy" appetizer - dates stuffed with gorgonzola wrapped with bacon drizzled with honey sounds great but they skimped on the gorgonzola so it was not balanced just sweet. Grilled Caesar salad, edible but someone mixed horseradish into the dressing and over salted it. Charcuterie board was a joke. Husband ordered the bison hangar steak, which was overcooked. When he told the server this, she took it away, never offered him anything else and we never saw a manager. Needless to say we both left hungry. BTW we went for the prime rib which they had sold out of by 7

My mom treated us to the Mahogany Grille. The food was wonderful and our waiter was great. We all ordered something different so.we could all sample a little bit everything. The rib eye and crab stuffed salmon (chef's special for the evening) was great. I would definitely recommend the Mahogany Grille.

We went in for the ribs. 5 minutes after ordering soup, drinks and ribs we were told that they ran out of ribs at lunch. What? Are you kidding me. Should've left. The substitutes were fine, but I came for ribs

Everything was great, atmosphere, food, and company! Celebrated our 40th anniversary and we believe it was the perfect place to spend it. Did arrive late but felt no rush to get us out! We had the Pepper Steak and the cut of meat was delish. Please try it out if you want a special place to feel pampered and step back a bit in time.
I rate it a 5 and I'm not always generous with my ratings.

Worse dining experience ever. Maybe bad luck with server, but horrible. Half an appetizer. Practically had to beg for a glass of water. Main courses were completely wrong. First time I have felt compelled to refuse to pay for a meal. Credit to the manager (owner) for being apologetic and comping what was actually served "right".....

Service was very good just a little bit slow. I think it was due to being the first night on a brand new menu though. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice and we were very satisfied with all of our food. The filet was fantastic.

The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic! The bread basket to start was delicious. Their dinner was superb and their specials make the meal much more affordable. For dessert, the double chocolate mousse is a must.

This seasons menu was better than it has been in a while. There was no bread with dinner and they took away my favorite dessert, vanilla creme brulee, but the elk tenderloin special was Devine.

A beautiful, classic, vintage, turn of the century (the other century) restaurant attached to the same level of gorgeous hotel. With modern and fanciful cuisine worthy of the highest praise. Brunch is excellent. Dinner excels. If you find yourself here, you will know the secret of this lovely small town.

The server was fantastic and it was her second day...

The server was fantastic and it was her second day of serving. The rest was downhill. Starting with the $21 margarita which was only $12 a few weeks earlier. The food quality was good but the portions were tremendously small. Our meal was $133 for two dinners and 2 margaritas, 1 house Cabernet and a salad. Typically this is about $90 in Durango. So we called the manager over Alex and he got defensive and said we already paid the bill so he didn t need address us any further. He said it was the servers duty to tell us that the drinks were a certain price. I have never had a server tell me this. We have been coming to Mahogany Grill for 15 yrs. I have had conferences, speakers and recruiting dinners here. I will not return.
