I take my kids swimming here a couple times a month. The pool area is really nice and it's open year around. The life guards do a good job. Like when my son goes over to the diving boards a life guard will either be over there or be over there before he even climbs the ladder. The people at the front desk are super friendly. This is a great community resource.

This was a wonderdul surprise tucked away in Durango! Adults, fitness fanatics, and little fishes just learning to love the water this a a wonderful place to be! So affordable and and clean. Did I forget to mention to gymnasiums and an indoor rock wall. The fitness equipment is state of the art and the staff is professional and take their jobs seriously. We WILL be back again!

I'd give no stars if it was an option. Lifeguards dont pay attention and my little girl almost drowned. She was with her class and there wasn't a single lifeguard in the area full of kids for some reason. A fellow classmate pulled her out. The lifeguards are kids themselves and always on their phones. If you let your kid swim make sure you are there to watch them yourself. This is normally the case with me but since she went with school I wrongfully assumed theres be adequate supervision I almost paid the ultimate price for believing this. Thank the good Lord I didnt.

Excellent facility. For those travelers like myself, a day pass is only $6. Good treadmills, ellipticals, machines and free weights. Most people (kids) were there for the vast but crowded expanse of the pool area. Decent locker room and showers. High use means not super clean, but it wasn't to the point of being an issue.

Authentic group of people seeking to love each other, understand what it means to be community, and experience life in Jesus. Being real, broken people together on a quest to be transformed as we were intended is what it looks like. Messy and beautiful.

BEWARE - HOMELESS allowed. Full disclosure. They allow homeless to be in common areas in the entrance to the building where our children play. When speaking to two managers, they verified saying that the facility does not discriminate against race, religion, or appearance. Something bad has to happen first in order to ask the homeless man to leave. But, the safety of our children is what is in question here. This policy should be posted so parents can make an informed decision to enter or not.

We bought a pass for the month, but when we noticed the homeless man we opted to leave. This particular man had all his homeless gear inside, highly smelled and was starting to approach myself and my daughter in the common area where children play. He was talking under his breath with obvious mental issues. There are places for homeless people and the recreation center where our children play isn't one of them! I contacted two managers and have now heard nothing after a half day. One manager stated a partial refund and is charging me for two adults and a "service fee" even after leaving. The refund was finally given after a half day.

I choose to leave for the safety of my child, yet they are putting the homeless man above the safety of my child. Had their policy of allowing homeless been posted, I would have never entered the building nor given the recreational center my money. I have been to recreation centers all over the US and Colorado and have never ever had this issue. Parents, you can now make an informed decision.

This is a FAMILY of real people, seeking to live Jesus in every day life. From the moment I walked in, I was home. I thank God for bringing Vineyard to Durango. We may appear small, but God is growing us, organically, from the inside out, transforming us, thru His word, in fellowship with one another, and in love. Such a sweet place.

Amazing place to visit! Large pool with a water slide and diving boards, kids area, hot tub and lap pools. Large fitness room with classes throughout the week. There s also basketball gyms and a rock climbing wall. The staff is super helpful as well.

My primary use is the pool area so I can't speak to the rest of the amenities, except for the very tall rock climbing wall with staff and great that my kids love. The locker room is clean and spacious and the staff is friendly. There is a heated lap pool as well as a larger, cooler pool with 8 lanes and lap clocks for doing serious workouts. Adjacent to the competition pool is a diving tank with a low and high spring board.

There's a large hot tub, and a heated "lazy river" next to a spacious indoor water park for kids. The park features slides and numerous water features that are in water with a depth ranging from a quarter-inch to three feet. And, there's also a really fun and fast water slide!

The pool facility is perfect for all levels of kids and swimmers - there's something for everyone! Lifeguards are stationed in every area for safety. I highly recommend this facility.

Swimming area is so fun for kids! 2 stars because of an EXTREMELY rude lifeguard, chewing young children out the entire time, calling them a "hassle". Very disturbing behavior for someone entrusted with these young people's safety.

Great lap pool. Never crowded. Has a kid area, water slide and hot tub. The kid side is a little more chlorinated but not too strong. Highly recommend this place. There is a climbing wall that is open in the afternoons. Several courts to play basketball, racket ball and pickle ball. Upstairs there is an indoor track and weight area with numerous "machines".

Great Facility - lots of options and everything is maintained fairly well. I mainly use the courts - both the basketball courts and racquetball courts are in great shape.

My only gripe is their process for Racquetball reservations.. they try to charge you an extra $2/hour for using the courts above and beyond the daily rec center access fee of $6.50. Kind of a money grab by the city, to be honest.

If you just walk in without a reservation, you don't have to pay the bogus reservation fee, but who wants to drive to the rec just to find out there aren't any courts open?

Everything you could ever want! Swimming pool with water slide! Rock climbing wall fun for all ages. Racketball. Basketball, a track. Free weights. And a circuit. Meeting rooms. You name it the center has it! As well as coordinates-with a ton if not all extracurricular activity s going on in Durango.

My family and I went to Durango for our first family vacation of the summer. I have an aunt who lives there and we have always had wonderful experiences. Recently she directed us to try out the community center which we have never been to before. It was an amazing experience. The cost is so inexpensive and the staff is absolutely friendly, the pools are amazing and clean. My children range from ages 4 to 15 and everybody was able to have a wonderful time. We spent several hours there taking a break in between to go to the beautiful park next-door and have a picnic. The family cabanas are wonderful! We were able to keep all of our children rounded up get them cleaned and changed and out the door in a minimal amount of time with minimal chaos. The community center will be a must see every time we go to Durango from now on. Absolutely worth the drive from Albuquerque.

Durango has a great rec center. I have been to rec centers all over the western slope and many are similar but I think Durango has the best. The indoor track is nice, the equipment is clean and modern.

Wow, this place is great! We heard about the durango rec center from some friends and decided to give it a try. The indoor splash park was a hit with the kids. The also have a cool little lazy river that turns into a whirlpool that is unique. They also have traditional diving boards and lap swimming as well. I know they have some wall climbing but haven't had a chance to try that out. Because it is indoor, you can go year round. Highly recommend.

The swimming pool is grate and the prices are good and the front desk people are helpful however that is not the case with the lifeguards are ether yelling at the kids for no reason or talk to each other not even making sure the kids are safe.

Alright, full disclosure, we started this church... But we still think it is awesome and worth saying that in a review! It has been amazing to watch God grow our dream of a church focused on following Jesus into a reality! We hoped to make faith in Jesus accessible to all kinds of people, a place where everyone belongs. Now, the community and people that make up this church make this church a "loved it" kind of place. So come join us an see! We can't wait to meet you!

This is a great place for families. from swimming, racquetball, basketball, rock climbing, after school activities for the kiddos, and swimming! Durango has one of the the best Rec Centers I have ever been too. The staff has always been friendly and their is an on site sitter for my small kiddo while I work out.

Athough the facility is very clean and safe, the gym equipment is well kept and the shaft are nice, they do not accept American Express, forcing myself and others to use different and less comfortable gyms. If you use an AmEx card prepare for different payment or find somewhere else.
