The only benefit is the location. It takes about 5-6 min to the subway. Quite convenient.
Considering the price you paid, you can't ask for too much from this hotel. The cleanliness needs to be improved, wifi signal is poor so that you hardly can connect it and the breakfast is below the average.
Overall, if you wanna live at Shanghai at relatively low price but with average service, you can give it a try.

I have been in Haiyan for a couple of times and I like this hotel...very good position in the city centre. I like the breakfast there. You can choose hot or cold food. The price is very good too.

It is convenient because it is a 5- to 7-minute walk from Exit 1 of Old Ximen Station. Hot water in the bath can not be taken for more than 15 minutes. (It seems to recover after 30 minutes)
Very dated hotel, straight out of the 80s. Worth experiencing just for lolz... breakfast was pretty basic, avoid the nasty coffee. Price fluctuates daily
Rooms worse than presented on the web. Dated furniture, limited room service and non-existent gym + some staff not very helpful. Located in beetwen two metro stations of line nr 8. Affordable prices still not enough to give it 3-stars review though.

Very poor place... No one should go there. I stayed here in October 2018 and it was a very bad experience. They are thieves as they charged me 600 instead of 400 saying that 200 is security and it will be returned. They make a fake bill of 400 at my checkout and said 200 will be automatically returned on my card as they have canceled the previous transaction.... Now after almost a year I am unable to get my money back. I have the copies of both bills but I can't get my money back... It has never happened anywhere else in the world. So be careful and don't trust these buggers...
Stay with your family in a 2-bedroom apartment. The price is very reasonable and the location is fantastic. It takes only 3-5 minutes to walk to the Pavilion Mall in Bukit Bintang. (luxury shops, meals) There are hotel rooms and apartments. The service is great! Amazing swimming pool + children's area + gym, wireless network speed is no less than a 5 star hotel.
The hotel has good location however, its somewhat old. The rooms are just fine though and they have crisp sheets. Breakfast is same from day 1 to day 2 but served no fruits. The bathroom is quite small but with good geyser. The waiting area in the lobby is behind the front desk which is quite lonely and isolated.

Room is very spacious. Water pressure is very strong and toiletries are more than enough Best location in Shanghai near Times Square , the shopping street and just 1.8 Kms from the Bund. Highly recommended
