Maginns Bar & Restaurant Review

Lovely pub but food not as described on menu ie no pepper in the pepper steak melt, no horse radish in the horse radish. Chips hard. But nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great , we went to maginns after reading other reviews hear and there were no bad one's all positive , and now i know why food was great and very reasonably priced and staff were Also good at their job, and not over doing it

A nice establishment for a drink but food horrible and waiting staff rude.

A lovely good great atmosphere a pub I regularly visit when at caravan a pub I would call my local but went last week food standards have dropped dramatically and service was poor was really disappointed

Staff couldn't have been more helpful regarding our allergies menu adapted with ease and the vegan chocolate cake with vanilla soy icecream was out of this world!top marks and one of the best places we have been to with allergy children

Service was good, food wasn't great. poor pub grub and took about 40 mins to get our starters.

We held a family reunion at maginns and it was brilliant the venue was perfect and the managment and staff were fantastic I would recommend this place 100%

Excellent family atmosphere in the restaurant and bar, with food of a high quality and fair pricing. The owner is on hand to please and nothing was ever too much for a young and pleasant waiting staff. Discreet enough while ensuring the best of quality attention and service to the diners.

Food was fantastic, in particular the chicken wings. The staff were very friendly and patient with the kids. Look forward to going back which is the best compliment I could give.

Love coming to Maginns! The food here is absolutely beautiful and the staff are always great, helpful and pleasant. There is always a great atmosphere in here. Would always call in here if I am about castlewellan.

Loved the open steak sandwich with peppercorn sauce. Will definitely be having this on my next visit. My father also really enjoyed the fish and chips. The service was fast and the pint was good too.

Excellent food, stopped in for a midweek lunch with the family and the service could not be faulted. Made to feel very welcome.

My daughter phoned to book a table for 2 and was told there was no need to book when she and her 11 year old son arrived they were turned away and told it was full! Terrible attitude from the manager when I phoned to complain disgraceful !!!!!!!!!!!!

Called into Maginns when on holiday they coped extremely well and courteously with my request for a gluten free menu selection and the resulting food was excellent.

Great food as always. The staff are so friendly and nothing is a bother for any of them.
Whilst eating your meal you can watch a game and just chill out or just have a few drinks where the craic is always friendly and good.

Food was good. But football on and it was loud. Not good for a family meal out.
