Very magical and serene. Beautiful butterflies and greenhouse plants. Especially nice in the winter. A bit pricey for those on a tight budget or more than 2 people in their party.

We went on a bitter cold day during the kids Christmas break. The boys (ages 4 and 13) both enjoyed themselves. It was wonderfully warm and kind of surreal with all of the tropical plants and butterflies flitting around. A bit pricey but I can't imagine how much the heating bill is. It was below zero outside during our visit. We will be back.

The parking was limited, but it's a good place for kids and the food isn't overpriced.

Really wonderful place. Beautiful and magical, and run by people who really care about butterflies.

We found it a little crowded due to the time of day we visited. You may want to plan accordingly. My daughter and I had a lovely time wandering through the butterfly garden that has a colorful and broad array of specimens and nooks with bench seating.
My parents really enjoyed photographing the different butterflies and the Asian Quail were fun to spot. The collection of exotic insects and lizards was very cool to see as well.
The facility was near spotless with pleasant staff, multiple seating areas for eating or relaxing and ample parking. The food was quite good and very budget friendly.
We bought a butterfly kit (self sustsined container of caterpillars) that was very successful and fun entertainment for my five year old.
We will most definately be revisiting soon.

In a non descript building that seems old, but looks are deceiving. When you go into the space with butterflies it is like being in a different world. It was awesome

This is an enchanting place! Magical! So many colorful butterflies and moths. It s like a fairyland! It makes my heart flutter. There are also interesting animals here. You can t touch the butterflies but if they land on you, you just let them be until they fly away. What a wonderful experience!

This is an amazing place. Nice gift shop. But going into the butterfly room, very very huge wow factor. Butterflies are everywhere. Cute birds in the same venue. You can walk and wonder at the varieties of butterflies. Sit and gaze as the fly around you.

Great place to spend some time! They have a bunch of insects, reptiles & amphibians to look at before you enter the butterfly area. The butterfly enclosure is huge and really well maintained. They've got hundreds of cocoons behind glass that are actively hatching or recently hatched that you can look at before they release them back into the enclosure. They could use some updating though - everything seems very outdated in style, like you just walked into the 80s or 90s. Even the gift shop could be updated to offer things that more people would be interested in buying - most of the other people there were in their 20s or 30s, some with kids, but everything for sale looked like it was aimed at an older crowd if it wasn't in the toy section. I'd definitely recommend stopping by though!

We all enjoyed ourselves. Everyone there was knowledgeable and friendly.

I am really stunned by todays events. I have been to this place many times and I have held 2 partys here.
I would like to start off with saying this place really is amazing! Well kept and friendly workers. If you are coming for the day I highly recommend this place. Its great for familys.

However. I have had 2 partys here and each time there were issues.
The first party was last year in the end of april for my youngest daughter who turned 1. We had appoved food over the phone and it was not served at the party which I looked passed and we all had a good time, but she did point out I was wrong in front of all my party guests.
Todays party costs us $475. Today my daughter turned 10 and we wanted the best. I told her I did not think 3 pizzas were enough for 33 people and it wasnt. I had to ask for an additional pizza and they were not very nice about it. They also did not fill pitchers often. But the absolute worst of the day was we were under the impression wewere aloud to stay for the remainder of the day as we did at the last party. Instead of tracking me down Allison ( I think her name was) went after my daughter The Birthday Girl, and told her "wheres your mother you need to get out now" it was obviously rude enough that a family member told her to back off and not talk to her that way. Look if we were wrong about the time we were aloud to be in there why go to the birthday girl why not go to us, we were not that far away. Then she proceeded to fight with members of our family. She also told me that last time I had a party we were not aloud to stay and I have 20 people that told her otherwise. I never believed the other reviews about this woman that were bad, but I do now.
All in all, I was embarrassed twice infront of my family and friends and I no longer recommend this place for parties. I do find it is great for day visits and their food is good and non party staff are friendly.

Fascinating place! 2 huge rooms populated with thousands of butterflies! Perfect place to sit and watch these glorious creatures. Be sure to wear bright colors and a little perfume if you want them to land on you for a few seconds. There are also quail that roam and terrariums filled with reptiles and exotic bugs. Great for the whole family! There is a gift shop and they, also, sell plants perfect for pollinators.

I took my 2yr old son there for his first time he loved it had so much fun and the staff wee really friendly and helpful

Incredibly peaceful and serine atmosphere not to mention beautiful. It was a fun educational experience for my little girl. Reasonable rates, polite staff. 5stars and a chrysalis

Fascinating place to visit - wonderful on a cold winter day!

This is amazing, to walk around with all the butterflies. We took many gorgeous pictures. We forgot to visit the gardens - will have to come again. I want to buy some of the Buddleia plants.

My family and I try to make this trip every year as our family tradition, and I feel like there were so many more butterflies this year then there has been in the past. Such a magical and rewarding experience. It is a little expensive and seems like the price goes up every year. Worth the hour drive to go, such a fun trip. You can get lost for hours and theres a lovely outdoor garden to check out as well. There is a restaurant and a gift shop too!

My family and I just loved walking threw here with all these butterflies!

They had a few other animals to meet as well! Just a beautiful place for kids and adults alike to explore!

Conveniently located not far from The Yankee Candle Company. Make it a day trip! Hit both places and your kids will be sure to be delighted!!

Been here twice so far. Love the atmosphere and the staff. The place is a lot bigger on the inside. There a cafe a gift shop and plenty of places to sit. I highly recommend coming here in the winter to warm up. It is very warm inside. There are a lot more than just butterflies.

Amazing experience. (The homemade signage of dos and don'ts was a little weird.) But the staff was friendly and the butterflies were the rainbow of breathtaking colors. (blue morpho) Bring your camera! You'll want to take pictures! Truly fascinating.

Butterfly Heaven ... I went to the Science Center in Hartford last year for the Butterfly special show. I went in last week to search for my kids like them. It's a special place to see and touch the butterflies.

Great for the kids. Not great if you freak out when butterflies fly all around you. What you don't want to hear as you pull into the parking lot with your 4yr old "I like to squish bugs"

Great day ! Wouldn't mind going again the exhibit was pretty large compared to Berkshire museums .Great little family day trip, there's also food and ice cream which is a plus

Wonderful experience, went there with a 6 y.o. , 4 y.o. and 18 months baby EVERYONE enjoyed it!! Very relaxing atmosphere. 100% recommend it!!!

Beautiful and magical place for any age, just remember that you can look but not touch. Staff are great and friendly, facility is clean. They have a cafe with food, drinks, and lots of soft serve ice cream flavors.

Tickets for adults are $16. You get a stamp for all day access. Wonderful amphibian and insect display before the butterfly hot-house. All the staff are courteous and helpful and pretty much everything is as clean as can be expected. The worst part about this place is a distinct lack of space and it can be VERY high traffic at times. Definitely worth while planting a visit accordingly. It is pretty hot inside so be sure to dress lightly even in winter, but there is a coat check! A recommended destination for anyone in the area.

What an awesome place!! Went with my two year old and she loved it. Butterfly landed on her head and a few landed on my wife. Great place for kids and to spend some time and learn about butterflies, lizards, and other creatures.

This is THE BEST Butterfly Conservatory out of 7 across the US I have been to so far ....because there were SO MANY butterflies and the most wonderful surprise was seeing Hummingbirds! Also loved the little Quails running around here and there .... so cute

I have never seen anything like this. The family (including teenage son) had a great time. Several butterflies decided to hang out on my shirt for a while. Highly recommended!

Simply wonderful. Great place for a family outing. However, children must be watched closely. Not suggested if any children have trouble following the rules or controlling their impulses. I know some three and four year olds who would love it, but I also know some ten year olds who would swat at the butterflies, just use your best judgement.

This place has tons of butterflies and is a great place to take the kids. They also have a good lizard and frog exhibit!

Amazing and unique experience. So close to other attractions!

Went at the 1pm entrance time and the women working at the door was very rude and should not be working there. She can t even greet people nicely and started a nice little disagreement infront of my 3 year old daughter. Not Happy.

Get ready for the covid mall cops. They will literally stand right next to you and jump all over you if you even try to breath. Don't go.

Decent place. Staff are pretty nice. Although you cannot actually touch the butterflies, they do fly in and around you, you can hold out your finger and if your lucky one will land on you.

Beautiful place. My children loved it. 13 year old and 18 year old.
