Insanely fast service, lots of food for a good price

Maggie's has always been a favorite of mine in Bloomington-Normal. Solid, true Irish pub. This is an establishment for the enjoyment of delicious food and drinks, not to twerk your problems away to intensely loud, soul-thumping bass that makes you're feelings turn to static. Small outdoor area, darts, and a Touch Tunes jukebox are available. While ISU is in session this place gets pretty crowded but during the summer it becomes a haven for locals who want nice beer. Fantastic establishment! Has always been a favorite and always will.

Wife and i ate there, her food came hot but mine was just warm. They gave me another plate and it was delicious.

The food there is a little pricey, but it's amazing and I always have leftovers. The staff is always nice.

My favorite place for a week day drink! Food is always amazing and filling, with some of the friendliest bar staff in town.

Had a Rueben but was disappointed since it was an Irish pub; charging extra for small thousand island to go with dry sandwich that was dry otherwise, especially for the price of the sandwich. Go try Times Past and adjust yours accordingly.

One of my favorite hangout spots in Bloomington-Normal. Great food menu and great staff. There's usually plenty of space to stand or sit, but like most popular bars it does get a little crowded as the night goes on. Be careful not to occupy the tables if you're not ordering food . Staff will ask you to move as they reserve those spots for patrons who are sitting down to eat.

Went to eat there for homecomjng. Ended up getting food poisoning from their chicken tenders. Severely undercooked. Not the best look, service was good but it s pretty easy to make chicken tenders. Wouldn t recommend.

If you are willing to pay a bit more for nicer beer and a calmer atmosphere in the uptown normal area. Maggie's is hands down the best. Great food, perennial staff, darts, and laughs. Enjoy!!!!!

Where do I start? Okay, the Phillips Union cherry whiskey with coke tastes just like Cherry Coke with no alcohol taste. Great atmosphere. Great Irish pub. Food is amazing. The shepherd's pie, Cordon Bleu sandwich, cork fries, and fish and chips. My favorite pub in all of Bloomington-Normal.

This is a low lit atmosphere with daily drink specials and specialty drinks for the Irish in all of us. The beer selection is modest on tap, but excels in the can and bottle category. (Look in the case behind the bartender) need food? No problem! As this place has cuisine catered to classic Irish dishes and perhaps leaning towards American. This bar is popular among college students and can be busy getting later in the evening. Plan accordingly! Overall a great place to drink and have fun.

Staff are very friendly, good food, good beer selection and if you are a whiskey drinker, some great Irish choices.

Great Irish pub with large beer selection and great cultural food. Beautiful imported wooden bar from Ireland. The Sheppard's pie, bangers and mash, patty melt, Reuben, and Irish breakfast are all great choices. I aways get the mashed potatoes. Guinness is always on tap. The pub is also a great place to catch European soccer. You can always guarantee they will have the game on. Older crowd age compared to neighboring college bars. Two dart boards available.

Really good food if you are eating. Otherwise regular drink specials and the service is decent. Sunday specials are the best!

Great Irish food and pub fare. Not exactly a healthy decision but everything is delicious. Cozy atmosphere even when its busy. Highly recommend

friendly, helpful bartenders and good prices. I'm honestly a little bit spoiled because this is the bar that I usually go to and whenever I go to another bar I think it's super expensive. The location is great, it's usually full but not overly crowded, and it's just a comfortable place to be. Not good fries tho

Fantastic atmosphere, great staff, reasonably priced drinks that are well made, and some seriously above par food! If you are looking for a good spot to hang out or get some food you definitely have to check out Maggie's!!

My husband and I had a date night here recently, and it was wonderful! Great atmosphere, friendly staff.. We ordered the Irish dip and butterfly pork chop.. Hands down, the best roast beef I've ever tried. Will definitely be back again!

For an Irish pub they sure did not know how to make Irish corned beef and cabbage. I was there I had corned beef and my wife had stuffed chicken.. Dinners cold and unedible..yet no one asked is why we didn't eat any of it it just came and picked it up and brought the check neither the manager cared or maybe he was the owner. But I own a restaurant and bar if I saw someone had neither food I would ask why.. obviously he knew why he knew the food sucked. 50 bucks total waste of money
.. I paid and I tipped... But I shouldn't have but if that was the owner I wanted him to feel like s*** if that was a manager he should know better and be fired if that was a waiter why would you work in a place like that.?

Not until I stopped a waitress did anyone pay any attention to me. Poor service and makes me not want to return.

My favorite Irish pub. Best onion rings in the world. Haven't had a bad experience here.

Delicious, and friendly staff. Such and awesome place.

We were told it would be a 20 minute wait. We waited an hour then we're told they were almost out of potatoes and food would be another 45 minute wait so we left.

Was very disappointed. Went there to eat and asked for a booth. We were told to wait, when the hostess game back she took us to a small table that was very close to another occupied table. We passed an empty booth so we asked her about that, she said it was reserved. There was another booth across that was empty we asked about that she said it was part of the bar. We saw another table for 2 and she said ok. We sat down then she came back and said we couldn t sit there it was part of a three whatever that meant. We were told there were no other tables or were even offered the opportunity to wait for another table said only choice was the table she wanted us to sit at first. So they lost our business as we chose to leave. We had a very nice dinner at a nice roomy table at the Ozark House.

Always great service and the food is unique to Maggie's. A particular favorite of mine is their Bangers and Mash but they have several signature dishes that deserve to be explored.

I worked as a restaurant manager (KM, DM, and GM) for 15 years in a relatively competitive market in a major metropolitan area before going into academia.
When I say your place's service sucks. It does.
This place is a gold mine, great set up, fantastic potential, and I am sure it does very well.
I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
I have twice been left sitting for 10-15 minutes without any form of greeting whatsoever while servers sat BSing at the break table.
The third strike out was when I was late for a meeting because the server was out chain smoking (I could smell the smoke on her breath) while I sat waiting for 15-20 minutes, my lunch long since finished, before she remembered to give me my bill.
All three of these situations are a result of non-present incompetent management or ownership.
But its your place, do what you want.

Fish and chips plate was very filling. Black and Tan was delicious as always.

Great atmosphere at this bar, people are really down to earth, also modern with a hint of rustic decor. Loved it.

We loved it here! Reminds me of the pubs we went to in Dublin. The food was great and they have Strongbow on tap. Will be going back again soon!

I like the food and drinks here. It can get really busy on game days and on weeknights (because that's the best time for college students to party...), but weekends can be a little more sedate. Bouncers are oddly zealous about out-of-state ID's (they also require a credit card) and the location is tight enough that they have to make sure people who aren't eating dinner aren't allowed to sit at the tables until after a certain hour. The atmosphere is nice, though. While it does get loud, the double bar has a more rustic and a more up-scale, wood-panneled side, and it's certainly a lot more appealing than most bars in Bloomington-Normal.

Wait staff was fun, friendly and knowledgeable about food and beer options. The food was excellent and easily modified for dietary restrictions. Daily specials are VERY good. Highly recommend stopping in when moving students in to ISU or visiting Normal.

Salt of the earth Irish pub. Had a half order of the shepard's pie (yum) so I could justify eating the Ruben nuggets - double win as both were super delicious!

Came in for dinner and a quick drink. There was a line for table service but was able to sit at the bar immediately. Food was decent, beer I had was excellent. Will go again next time I'm in town.

Me and a friend planned on catching up with each other at the restaurant. We walked in, saw a rat, not a mouse, a rat run past us. We turned around and walked out.
