First time I went to get something to eat and it was everything that hoped it to be

since moving from houston the seafood variety has been more limited but Mad Jacks's while imperfect, is a great stopgap measure this far from the coast

Even though it's not on the Missouri side anymore. It's worth the drive to Kansas City Kansas

This place food is bomb as f*** the service is terrible.

Always liked this place, but recently it's been having a few challenges with staying up to date on technical aspects and the prices of "boxed/bulk" has risen greatly.

Maybe they will remodel or invest in the upkeep soon. Been there since I was a kid, but never see business involvement in street events or fundraising either.

The extra folks behind the register made it hard for people to even work in there, yet the seating is closed due to pandemic...... food should have been ready, without errors and store way cleaner.

I go to Mad Jacks for the Monday special Plus the fish bones yummy yummy

Some of the best Southern Fried Fish in the KC Metro. Hands down its hot, crispy and ohhhh so Delicious *pops voice*. Haven't had good Kansas City eatin' until you try MadJacks.

The Cat and Red Snapper were as good as remembered.....

YES.....YES.....YES.....If you have never experienced MAD JACKS you are missing out FRFR.....they have FRESH FISH and Cooked will cook it for you. I have never gotten anything from there that I have not liked. They also are serving SMOKED CATFISH..... look at the picture and tell me if that fish don t look DELICIOUS.... check them out

Fish was delicious!! Nice brown crisp! Not enough tables/seats

This is awful can't even chew it, it's like rubber. And they gave me the sides they wanted I ordered fries and potatoe salad.

I ordered catfish and they gave me Whiting fish and it was not fresh

The Food; was amazing! I always judge Italian restaurants off of their basics so I ordered their spaghetti and meatballs. They were perfectly done and the marinara sauce tasted fresh and had some sweetness to it from the tomatoes themselves which was delicious. Also ordered the chicken Alfredo which was so creamy and hot when it came out.

The food is good,but it use to better over the year its changed... The prices are ok.the service is good only if u know what it is you want before hand...

Good place to eat with a variety of fish to choose from. Plus they have fish and frog legs you can buy and take home, and the employees are helpful and respectful

Went there and got some shrimp , just what I was looking for . Raw jumbo shrimp for a cook out . Yuuuuumo :))))

Although it could use a upgrade the food is still good and always fresh

Best fish in town - breading is gluten free so everyone can enjoy. Try the catfish strips!

Mad Jack's is the place to get your fish hook-up. Great selection, great service, and good prices. My signature dish is the catfish nuggets. Call ahead if your in a hurry.

Spent over $30 for two meals and it wasn't worth it. Haven't ate there for over a couple of years . I'll try it out The fish was cooked too long hard as a rock and over seasoned. The french fries were good. Used to be a pretty good place to eat fish the best I'd say but not anymore.

Their fish is AWESOME! Their customer service is even better! Went there sunday and got a big order and they forgot to give me half of the order and i didnt notice until I got home so i called them and said it was missing to see if I could go back to pick it up and they told me no they would deliver it to me! Im impressed for sure!

Had the Red Snapper and it was awesome! Love this place!

Always an awesome meal! Tried their fried red snapper for the first time and it has excellent flavor. The fried okra is a must! Coleslaw was just your average coleslaw though. I'd definitely go with a different side such as the hush puppies.

This wasn't even my idea to go here. But my cousin said how good the food was... I just left...I ordered... paid for my food...my cousin got her food... I waited...and waited... finally ended arguing to just get my money back. It seems my order was never even made... so I went to Church's Chicken and got service NEVER AGAIN

Good, but salty. Felt like I was going to have a stroke while eating this fish. And, they also put seasoned salt on the fries. So if you have high blood pressure, avoid this place, unless you say no salt in the fish seasoning. They don't have a light salt option.

LIVE ABUNDANTLY. Expensive but everything they make is excellent!! In my opinion one of the best seafood places in the midwest. Similar to Bristol without fancy decor. I have been going to Mad Jack's since my dad took me when I was a little girl. Dad was good friends with Dale of Dale's Auto Body repair shop, also an icon of this neighborhood. People would be SHOCKED if they knew what they had been missing all these years!! Forget Long John Silvers and Captain D's. Look em up, worth the drive to 13th & State Ave. from anywhere and everywhere!!!!

Food was fresh and delicious, everyone there seemed very pleased but it could use a coat of paint inside and out and please clean EVERYTHING especially the ceiling and the vents and the countertops especially straighten an organized behind the counter it looks gross back there with the food was delicious!

Food was not bad. Service was terrible unless you were a local. Will not make a trip to come back.

They ran out of mac&cheese and I didn't get my slice of cake. I should have checked.
