the service was on time and prompt. food was hot but some of the white meat was a little dry... price is right on all there food

They open fairly early at 10 am which is great. I think they should get an open sign or do something about the appearance from the outside of the restaurant. It is difficult to tell whether or not they are open. Once inside though, the restaurant is really clean. The staff I talked to were very friendly. The food was better than I had expected, but nothing too special. I ordered a Ranchero Burrito, they got it out in a couple minutes which was great. I grabbed their avocado salsa and salsa rojo to add. The burrito itself was super fresh, the cabbage makes a nice touch. Not too much flavor in it though. That being said, I'd get this over Chipotle anyday! With the added punch of the avocado salsa in particular it was quite good. Overall a pleasant experience, but they need to do something about the lighting inside and out, it looks and feels dark and closed even on a bright sunny day.
I was looking forward to the store in San Luis Obispo. I got a "whole" chicken to go just after they opened at 10am. It was overcooked and tasteless. Plus, it was a small portion. Other places are much better. I wouldn't go back.

Love their food, so we keep coming. But this location needs to keep improving their customer service. We've had missing items, super slow service, and the tables and salsa area are often very messy.
Sad that the owners have the employees working in 120 heat with no working AC, over a roasting fire! Shame on you. Poor cashier said the AC has been broken for weeks. I could call 5 different HVAC companies and get them over her to fix it in a jiff. What is the problem. Some real bs.
I eat here all the time on my lunch break. It is relatively inexpensive ($5 pollo bowl is an adequate lunch) for what you get (fresh-tasting ingredients). I order online before I start my break and the food is ready by the time I get there five minutes later. I usually get great service, especially from Emily.
I have eaten at other locations before but this has been the worst chicken I have eaten from this chain. The chicken was over cooked and dry. I had to throw away some of it because it wasn't edible. The sides were the usual fare. Tortilla were half tostada, have warmed tortilla. Glad I am only visiting because this was just awful.
Management is terrible. They don t give their staff time to take breaks and already have a high turn over because of this. I definitely won t be supporting this businesss.

This is a great El Pollo Loco at a great new and convenient location. We love the chicken Tostadas and enchiladas. Good and fairly healthy fast food while shopping south SLO.
They don't give everything in a twenty dollar advertisements. It looks good in the ads, but it's not all that great!

El Pollo Loco is a restaurant that never fails to impress me! It's clean food and always filling and flavorful! The restaurant stays clean and although it's busy, the food is quick! Perfect for a quick lunch or bringing home food for the family.
The place is okay but the hot chocolate was a bit sad in size for being 3$ and they wanted to charge 70 cents for a little cup of sour cream over all its good for burrito sizes etc but as far as extras and servings sides id say i could get better

Ordered the classic chicken burrito which was packed with beans, rice & chicken @ $4.99. The chicken was a bit overcooked. The app is badly flawed when it comes to posting multiple receipts in the required 48 hr. period. It keeps popping up "Oops! You have already entered 2 receipts" even though I waited 24 hrs. after posting to enter another 2.
Used to eat at El Pollo when I lived in So Cal. So happy to have one close! I enjoy all of their menu items!
Love this location! Great service from all so far since opening (especially the guy at the front with glasses who is always there & I believe her name is Elisa?). Good sized salads, tostadas & bowls. The smallest chicken breasts I've ever seen though. Cant be perfect!

I was suprised & very impressed. I thought it was just another fast food place & the food would b ok nothing great. Boy was I wrong it was delicious my husband & I was very impressed. It was delicious juicy & the spices on the chicken were just right. Our new go to chicken meal oh yes everything else rice & beans were delicious.

Great place for a quick and delicious chicken dinner. Our friendly and helpful cashier even asked us if we were Cuesta College students, and volunteered to give us student discounts of 20%! Even when we couldn t remember where we left our IDs, he was happy to honor the discount anyways with a laugh. The menu at Pollo Loco revolves mostly around their namesake of Chicken. Their fried chicken is comparable to that of KFC, and their grilled chicken has no matches in the area. I personally love to eat grilled chicken breast with the bone and skin on, and oh boy, did they deliver. Awesome service, great menu, and reasonably priced. Portions were on the middling side, but overall a great experience.

I popped in on a whim to try out the double chicken avacado salad. I was really surprised when I saw the amount of chicken on the salad. It was two Real servings. Having the salsa bar is always a nice addition. I ended up skipping the dressing and had the avacado salsa and Pico de Gallo on it instead. Certainly made a repeat customer out of me!
Yes I know it's a fast food chain but this establishment is ran top notch. Food is always hot fresh. Clean dining room and restrooms.
Service was excellent. The man who took my order seemed genuinely glad I came in. I'm transgender. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the pricing was fair. What more can you ask for?
