This place is awesome. Our server, who was an exchange worker from Thailand, was so sweet and she made the night really special for my wife and I. The gumbo and blackened red fish was awesome. Then the bread pudding was the bomb - best I've ever had! This is a very nice place and not that expensive. I think this place may be the best kept secret in New Orleans. Service was excellent as was the food!

fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. the staff was very kind and attentive. this place has a cool feel to it. ambience reminds me of san diego's scene.
My wife and i came down to new Orleans for our anniversary and was trying to find a perfect dinner spot to suprise her. I came across a few and reserved but then cancelled when i found M bistro. It had really good reviews so i knew it would be a perfect choice. When we arrived they were so nice and polite and gave us a booth thagmt felt more like a personal small room it was perfect. Our server was very nice and wish us a happy anniversary. The food was so good and the waitress brought us some beinets with Happy Anniversary written with chocolate. We were amazed at this place and we will definitely return! The prices are reall great as well!
My friend and I was looking for a great place to end my last stay in New Orleans. When we googled, M bistro popped up with wonderful reviews. When we arrived, there was live jazz playing which was nice but a bit loud for us. We asked if we can be seated in the back of the restaurant so it would be a bit quiet. Immediately the waiter had an attitude as he seated us. I brushed it off and pretended that it was not there. Then when we ordered, there was the attitude again, for no reason. We only wanted to try the gumbo because it's well talked about on the restaurant's reviews. No matter what we ordered we shouldn't have been treated that way. The waiter said that's it very sarcastic and with a tone. I also order some beignets and was not sure if the lady who took the order heard me. When the waiter who was tall slim African American guy came back I asked him about the beignets. He rudely replied, " didnt you ask for them already?" That's when I said ok what's the problem and why do you have an attitude. He proceeded to lie and said he didn't. That's when my friend said yes you do. He started walking up to our table so we stood up. You dont walk up to people in a hostle manner. Then he starts getting in my face when I kept telling him he has a tone. He got in my friends face so I had to step in the middle. The waiter told us if we wanna fight him on his job! Like really? This is the service you get for supposedly great food? The whole situation was crazy. We didn't get to try any of the food. We ended up leaving and speaking to the manager who applogied and asked us to stay. Who will stay after that. And it looked like he was the only waiter in that section. My friend didnt want to be in the same space as him we left but before we did, manager gave us a cup of Hennessy to go.
I came here for my birthday and it was amazing. I felt so special. The breakfast buffet is worth every penny and everything can be made to order. There was so much food available that I was conflicted on what to get. I need to go back and try some things I was too full to eat. The bacon was perfect. I hate undercooked bacon. I like it crunchy but not burnt and M Bistro has it down to perfection.
Chief Bolder and our waiter Jerome were fabulous . Such a memorable experience. This meal was one of the best we have ever had, i would venture to say the best. Thank you. Roger and Amy
I quite like this very good restaurant by the way it has an excellent atmosphere very calm I quite like the place has a very good food I like this restaurant is very good I like this restaurant they serve very friendly customers very well
Saturday night dinner service and the restaurant was not busy. Everything looked great, but there were no flavors to our food. The highlight of the meal, was the spicy cornbread that they brought out before our meal. The filet had no flavor and we were very disipointed. Wish we had gone someplace else.
We went here to celebrate my 30th birthday on Saturday. The food was excellent and Jerome was the best waiter! He was extremely attentive and knowledgeable and really made the experience wonderful. We are planning our next trip to New Orleans and we will definitely stop by and see him!
The food was phenomenal, it's just ashame that the service was absolutely terrible to the point I will never go back nor recommend. Our server told us we had to have one check split evenly - which is fine but I think they did it because they get a 18% gratitude . So by that time, why even try to do your job. I asked about recommendations on drinks and they rudely responded "don't know I drink Henny" are your serious? That's your response? To top it off as the most outrageous stunt in history ... They swiped my card three times and charged me $200 on a $50 bill. If that doesn't scream shady I don't what does. Asked management and they said no it doesn't stay. Well it did . 4 days later all transactions cleared. I had to my bank and dispute because I NEVER approved that.
Stay far away. It's a scam at this restaurant and it's so disappointing to be connected with such a high level named hotel
Our waiter Jerome was the absolute BEST. My wife and I are foodies so we dine out a lot. This by far was the greatest experience and the food was FANTASTICAL!!!
Service was a bit slow and I wasn't asked if I would like anything to drink. I ordered beignets and eggs Benedict. For $13 I assumed the Benedict would have potatoes. Nope, just 2 lonely eggs. The English muffin was over toasted and extremely crunchy which isn't my preference. Beignets were got but so loaded in powdered sugar that it was hard to eat. On the upside the desk people were extremely helpful and friendly.
Reveillon dinner M Bistro at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans was so delightful. It is one of my favorite experiences in the city. A lovely performance by Jeremy Davenport and band. You have to walk through the Davenport lounge to reach the M Bistro.
The hotel had beautiful decorations from the front door and beyond. The lobby is one of my favorites during the holidays with a golden tree, branches/vines sprawling and covering the ceiling and glass ornaments dangling.
This year they have a gingerbread streetcar with seriously beautiful detail! The courtyard is also decked out with holiday lights and cheer, and is a lovely spot to sit/sip with friends.
We ordered the Filet dinner with jumbo asparagus and lyonnaise potatoes and the crab cake dinner with crawfish risotto. The food was just excellent. While we were waiting they waiter brought fresh jalapeno bread and accommodated a request by my mother for bread with no jalapenos. They also brought sample size dishes of seafood gumbo. Quite literally the best gumbo I have ever tasted. They brought out the main course and when I cut into my steak it was quite raw and I had asked for medium. I had barely cut open my steak when a waiter stopped and asked what was wrong. He immediately scooped up my plate and apologized. The next thing I knew had a crab and shrimp cocktail in front of me which was quite delicious. I quickly had my meal returned to me and it was perfection. We finished off the meal with key lime pie and carrot cake with blood orange sorbet. The desserts were excellent. I loved the sorbet the best! The menu was quite pricy. It cost $15 to add 1 crab cake to my meal but you get what you pay for. I was reading the menu online and they only use the freshest in season ingredients and follow a farm to table philosophy which was much appreciated. All in all an EXCELLENT experience that I would highly recommend to other diners. Bon Appetit'!!
The hotel that I stayed in didn't serve food so I had to find a place to eat. This was wonderful! The food was delicious. Lots of choices, fresh and well made.
This place is absolutely one of the best in New Orleans. The staff is phenomenal and the Todd is superb. The ambiance is just awesome. I highly recommend this place.
Paid $110 for salad that tasted like fish, a small pasta and a "bone in chicken breast" that was dry overcooked and looked more like a pigeon. The meal sizes were super small. Have to say they had really good water, bread, butter and dirty rice!
Lovely staff and establishment. Classic breakfast favorites served like I ve always dreamt about, think breakfast in heaven. Also, the muesli presentation was 5 star. The doughnuts will make you forget about beignets and are clearly 6 star. The salmon Benedict.... oh my g. The sky view will take you back in time. Even the rotary designed charcuterie station was like tripping in time to a place reminiscent of the industrial revolution. This place can be what you make it, whether visiting with friends, making new friends, discussing business, a romantic date, or just having a fun chat with the girls over tea. M Bistro is classy and historic, yet modern and chic without pretense and retains the unique and adored culture of New Orleans.
Never been to a Ritz Carlton. I thought it would be a bunch of rich people with fancy wine and boring food with small portions. The staff were very friendly, and polite, I had some of the best bourbon I've ever tried, the restaurant is beautiful and well lit. The food was the biggest surprise though, it was very tasty, like the chefs paid a lot of attention to the details; I experienced some new and unique flavours to go with my pork chop, and it was a large serving of meat with very little fat or gristle. A good cut. A surprisingly great price too. I spent $200 on the fancy bourbon though, the pork chop was only 30 dollars.
My First Morning in New Orleans, I visited this place for breakfast. Keep in mind it's inside the Ritz Carlton!!! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff & Great Food & a Super Awesone Buffett, $$$ But Well Worth It!!! Live a Little...
We chose M Bistro because we wanted a meal, as opposed to small plates in the Davenport Lounge. The restaurant shares the same space as the Davenport Lounge, and with the right seat, you ll still have a great view of Jeremy Davenport and the band performing. The service was impeccable! We were provided with complimentary bread (cornbread and rolls). They were both good. I started with a drink, the 1718 Tricentennial. It was amazing and ironically cost $17.18 lol. We both ordered the pork chop stuffed with boudin, covered with a mustard green gravy and accompanied by sweet potatoes. It was good, but I was still hungry afterwards. So mental note, order more food the next time! We tried the red velvet doberge and bread pudding for desert. I wasn t a huge fan of the doberge cake, but the bread pudding was quite unique. If you want a relaxing evening, good service and great live music, then definitely give M Bistro a try. By the way, the gumbo is amazing! We were able to sample some before entering the restaurant...it s the best I ve had In NOLA! I ll certainly be back!
mainly dined for breakfast buffet while staying at the ritz but had one lunch. food and atmosphere were good but not a special event venue, except perhaps along with jazz at adjoining davenport's lounge. but, for a tired traveler great
