This department not only excessively wastes taxpayer money due to poor management and leadership.... They don't follow the laws they are supposed to uphold.

Called them about being assaulted no one ever showed up.
This is a fairly old review but I wanted to finally update it with details of my experience with the LPD. I tried to file a report against my roommate who contaminated a beverage of mine with some of his own bodily fluids. The drink was left half consumed in the refrigerator at the apartment and upon drinking out of the bottle after only a day of it being there I felt a thick fluid mixed with the drink in my mouth. Upon spitting it out it was very clear as to what it was. Later that day I broke out in hives which was an added bonus to the situation. I tried to explain the situation to an officer who told me that it was "not worth (their) time" to examine or send it to be tested. Told me I would most likely file a report for nothing and it would get thrown out before it was completed.
They were very gentle when they handcuffed me, and their patrol vehicles are incredibly roomy. Overall very professional.Will get arrested by them again, for sure
Just called and was transferred to front desk to an Officer Barber for non-emergency help. I am new here and always hesitate to contact police. This officer was very patient with an older person and gave me excellent information. I hope I don't need them again, but this officer was excellent. Also, the first young man answering the phone was very helpful. Thank you all.
no respect. would never trust my life in their hands. called them and said they would come right away. never even showed up.... how pathetic. i d rather defend myself then ever trust in these people.
I was hit by a shopping cart that was traveling on it's own due to the horrible wind and rainy weather, it caused damage to my car and the LPD was very great in helping me get the paperwork needed to file an insurance claim and to help get me on my way back home to Denve City! Thank you so much!

I can say that not all police are out to write tickets or cause harm I had the worst time trying to find my way around town this beautiful woman who I wish I asked name, not only gave me directions she also saw me wondering and came and drove me to the highway to find my way she was very pleasant respectful and genuinely cared. she could've let me drive around till my tank was empty but she didn't and for that I'm very grateful and moved thank you ma'am it really meant a lot!
The LPD won't investigate a false adoption and robbery due to the prejudice of the victims

They set up a speed trap on the north interstate with 8 officers when violent crime is at its highest. Stop the club shootings, dont harass my employees on their way to work! 6/6/18

Took 3 hours to respond to my car accident to make the report... phone operators didn't seem to care either... pick your game up police department
LPD SUV #1238 you should be ashamed of yourself and should be reported. Completely unsafe and erratic driving. Today at approximately 1645 I witnessed this unacceptable and ILLEGAL driving on 82nd st. From slide to quaker and then all the way to the loop...where btw he passed an accident...so obviously he wasnt headed there. This dangerous driver was weaving in and out of traffic WITHOUT USE OF HIS BLINKER ANY... SWITCHING LANES 7 TIMES on 82nd street. This man whom is directed to serve AND PROTECT our city was putting everyone in his path in extreme danger. While switching lanes on one occasion he came within 2 feet of my car. Speed limit? What speed limit?? Obviously he wasn't aware of any speed limit since he was going over 50 mph while trying to kill families on Lubbock roads. Officer...you are a disgrace to LPD and the badge you wear. I called LPD and of course no one can direct me to the person I should talk to to complain. I would appreciate a response LPD...surely someone cares...right???
The rudest and most self-involved power hungry police force I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. As a victim I was disgusted by their treatment of me.
Racist cops! I'm from Houston, have lived in the Boston, and NYC metro area, to the bad cops (yep the few that go above, and beyond the law) STAY IN LUBBOCK, these cops would struggle big time if they were in these cities I lived before, STAY IN LUBBOCK!
The Police is keeping Lubbock safe. I called about an hour ago stating that My truck was side swiped in the parking lot of Walmart at 4th and Frankford, I'm still waiting for an officer to come and make a report, hopefully they will be here soon.
My friend and I witnessed LPD laughing at a mentally impaired human being while they were trying to get help... after being extremely rude and disrespectful towards up. NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Not helpful when I had to file multiple reports about harassment, never had a detective or anyone contact me after they assured me I would be when I was assigned a case number. After multiple attempts to contact I just gave up. Very disappointed after I was used to such friendly and helpful police staff in Pflugerville, Texas. Would like to see more involvement, professionalism, and compassion from the officers serving there.
Just so everyone knows, you don't need to talk to the police in Lubbock. You don't even need to show Id to them unless your under arrest. Only exception is if your driving a vehicle. Know your rights and stay out of jail.
I am so embarrassed that I did not get the officers names who came to my home on Friday, August 9, 2019. Four officers came to help me evict a woman who mistook my home for hers. These 3 male officers and one female officer were professional, kind and knowledgable. They handled the situation as a well trained machine. Truly, can not say enough positive about our men and women in blue. Thank you ---
I was trying to report a crime of physical assault when I was at the plasma center and Coporal Williams told me the victim that no crime was commited against me and that they refused to file the crime because it was hard to prove. I think that's why we have judges. Police are public service how dare they implement due process on this situation and refuse to file charges against someone who committed a crime. I've always been held to the consequences of my actions. The community needs to up hold everybody including this officer for refusing to allow this to go before a judge. This is unlawful and disrespectful, I think this officers credibility is questionable now and should be investigated who knows what else goes on under this man's supervision.
Great customer service! Very hands on, informative and very educational! First they were kind enough to alert me my back tail light was out. They even gave me TWO handwritten autographs! They helped me out of my vehicle, careful to grasp my arm firmly to ensure a safe exit and helped me to the ground! After a free deep tissue massage with their hand held devices they ensured a much needed nap via spacious couch in the back of their cruiser. The free lodging and daily exercise at my new, rent free residence, ensures I'll have long pleasant stay. Thanks to my uniform clad rescuers-I've now made new shower friends and have severe amnesia!

Not from around here but have been keeping up with the Zoe Campos case and it is frusturating and disheartening to see how poorly her case has been and continues to be handled. This girl and her family deserve justice and answers but Ofcourse, that doesn't matter to them. These officers are a joke and I hope they never have to feel how that mother feels everyday. I know you guys can't handle this case but at least let someone with real skills take over.
3 situations
1. House got broken into. Called police. They never showed up. Called next day and they said go online and fill out a report. Went online and filled out a report. 3 months later a detective called me and said there was nothing he could do, said we should have called the police instead of filling out a report online.
2. An employee at work had their tire slashed by ex boyfriend, she went to the police station and they told her there was no one here that can do anything and sent her on her way.
3. Can was stolen from my office and police spent more time questioning me on why it was up here than how to find it. Said there was nothing they could do.
4. Had an employee steal over 10k from us on a debit card. Gave them all the details of the crime on a silver platter and again. Have done nothing. I really wish someone from the Lubbock Police would read this!
I can't speak for all the Lubbock police officers, but in both of my situations i was not helped because my case wasn't important enough. One time my wallet was stolen and two weeks later my expensive bike was stolen from inside my apartment complex and they wouldn't bother to come out and help, just told me to file a report which is useless. They have no problem giving me a ticket when i only have a permit, but don't do anything to the car going 90 mph.
I was just almost arrested today for firing an airsoft gun at a fence because an old (most likely drunken) man thought I was shooting at him & cars. police came, handled the situation professionally and calmly. I particularly enjoyed the presence of one of the officers and was very polite and chatted with me the whole time. I would even go as far to say that we became friends. would love to see him again. 10/10 experience.
I want to thank each and everyone of these brave men and woman, as well as the first responders of the differing units. You worked together to make sure a tragedy didn't escalate. My son was in one of those buildings at Tech. As my family and I waited in fear, we were comforced by our belief in all those in blue. We pray for the family of the officer who was so brutally shot down, and pray to God with grateful hearts for all those who caught this person. My son is coming home tonight, thanks to yall. You do great things for this community.

My daughter it's been targeted by Corporal Sosa# 065386, if Corporal Sosa is targeting Students because they are easy target, he should be ashamed of his title and look at the speed he drives every day 4+ above? most likely. I have been driving for many years, and I can assure you every single driver goes above the speed limit 3,4+ and only a targeted individual is stop! What about protecting the people from criminals; pimps, drunk drivers, watch the pedophiles, and walking junkies all around Schools? Not the Students.

Thank you THANK YOU to the responding officers who helped me bring my horses in at 3:00 am off 34th st last night. I don't know what I would do if they got hit- but because all of you guys and girls closed off the street and I was able to get them back in their pasture- they are safe and sound.
I just can't thank you enough!!! These are the same horses on the Starbucks / KAMC site going through the drivethu. One is ridden and loved dearly by my 7 yr old niece.

The police always make sure things are taken care of. We have one of the best trained police forces and it shows. Glad to know that these guys are out making sure we are safe. Murder is almost non existent in lubbock.
Called my truck in stolen this morning and had it back by lunch. The officer was extremely helpful and very friendly. Thank you LPD for your services, it's truly valued.
Born here love it here and I appreciate what lpd do for us...they have alot on their plate..by keeping Lubbock peace and friendly..
Got stopped for a simple speeding violation and was treated very inappropriately as far as what was said. When I asked why I was being treated in such a way officer Luke Backus laughed and said call my boss if you want.
LPD responded to my call immediately. The guy on the phone was very nice and listened to me thoroughly. I am very impressed!
