We went veering off on the side road at the last minute when this place showed up on a search. So glad we did. Our chicken bacon ranch wrap was delicious, the potato chips were great and the smoothie was yum!
Bought a cute little handmade ornament for my tree next Christmas and some flavored salt.
Bathroom is around the back and unexpectedly clean and nice!
Recommend this place to stop on the way around the island.

We love and miss low store! Very friendly staff and owners! They are a big help when u forget to buy onions so you don't have to drive all the way back to Hilo! They have most of the little things you may have forgotten be to buy while in town. Down to green cans of propane to emergenC packs they also have good food and shakes and shaved ice HIGHLY RECOMMEND to stop in and take a peek!

A great find on our way to the Botanical Gardens. I had the Hawaiian Nachos (delicious). My 3 traveling companions also loved their lunch entrees. We had delicious creamy local ice cream for dessert (Mango, Passion Fruit, and Chocolate Coconut Macadamia Nut). The owners are friendly and patient in explaining items on the menu. Highly recommend this place. When you sit outside the ocean is across the street.

Great little hidden mom and pops store. We loved the shaved ice (snow cones). They have local flavors such as Lilikoi (passion fruit), Coconut, and guava. There is a little seating area is outside which adds to the county ambiance, which we really enjoyed.

Just a little shop by the side of the road, but it's a local stop for food and some basic convenience store groceries. Their food is limited but pretty good. The rice bowl is nothing but rice and meat, which is a little disappointing, but the nachos are a completely different matter. The salsa on the nachos is very tasty, and it's enough food for two. There's a reason they feature it.

If you like shaved ice (sno cones), you need to check this place out!

This was our first trip to Hawaii (Big Island). We wanted to see the whole island during our 8 day stay so we went exploring to see all the major sights, tried to use different roads and have as many 'shave ice' as possible. After spending the morning at the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden down the road, we stumbled across The Low Store with the shave ice road sign out front and we are so glad we stopped!! If you go to the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden Botanical Gardens, take the time to drive 1.8 miles down to The Low Store and check this local spot out!!

We had Shave Ice here and it was by far the best, most flavorful, and biggest ones we had during our trip. We made a point of rating all the shaved ice we had during our trip and this place had the best. While we didn't have lunch there, I wish we had, it smelled so good!! A couple of locals stopped in for the Loco Moco and it looked yummy and so did the burger and fries.

Note, they have a clean well kept restroom around the back, just ask for the key at the counter.

Great place to get a quick bite or beverages or some fresh fruit along the Onomea scenic drive on the Hamakua coast of the Big Island. Covered tables and chairs are available.

Sweet low key local market at the end of the scenic route with food to order, great shaved ice, local made ice pops, ice cream, any needed food stuffs and nice little gift area. Owners were really nice too. Covered tables and chairs for relaxed eating.

Good surprise at the end of the Old Mamalahoa Highway, coming from Hilo. It's a kind of convenient store, which provides fresh meals. It's simple but tasty, prepared with good ingredients, healthy style.. Very nice spot for a quick lunch break.

After the small tourist store everyone stopped at the first store.
The line was so long,so we continued on for about 5 minutes along the road, when we came to a general store opposite the Basketball Court.
What a surprise, great Shaved Ice, Smoothies done with real fruit and not so expensive.
The two ladies serving were so friendly and helpful.
Avoid the crowds and go to this place you won't be disappointed.

The store sells food, beverages, and a few household items. The produce was a little expensive, but comes from local farms. We stopped there to get Hawaiian Shave Ice. Very good with lots of choices in fruit flavored syrups. Having the icy treat over vanilla ice cream helped off set the sweetness.

Great service, food is ono. Give them props for how well they run the business. My favorite store in hawaii. Anybody that never been should really have a quick visit if they get the chance. Aloha

Small little stand with delicious meals and really good smoothies. We had the Hawaiian plate lunch and thought every part of it was wonderfully delicious. Also had a smoothie and a coffee and all of it was fantastic.

Awesome old family owned lunch and refreshment and grocery shop. Like a quick stop with delicious iced cream, shave ice, fruit smoothies, and plate lunches. My kids and I love visiting here when we are passing through the area. Plus they have a cat my kids like to say hi to, Mr. Pickles :)

We asked a Botanical Gardens golf cart driver to recommend a place for lunch, and he suggested Low Store Deli & Fruit Stand. What a perfect recommendation! Three of us had sandwiches while the 4th member of our party enjoyed a shave ice. The food was delicious and portion sizes were generous -- well worth the short wait. Additionally, the patio was a comfortable and clean place to sit back, soak in some sunshine and gecko-watching while we enjoyed the delicious food, and bask in the ocean view in the distance. We found a few reasonably-priced treasures to gift to friends and family back home in the gift shop, and bathrooms were clean. If we're ever fortunate enough to return to Big Island, Low Store will definitely be on our list of musts! Mahalo!
