I think the nicest cinema in Utrecht. They show good films and there is a cozy bar and terrace. If you sit on the terrace or in the restaurant, it often takes quite a long time before you get your drink or food. I would advise against that if you are pressed for time. Food quality is fine.

Very cozy and vintage atmosphere, I like that you can bring food and beer inside from the bar. All the film are in the original language with subtitles in dutch. Usually a person introduce the film you are going to see with a brief explanation. I would recommend it.

Located in an historical building in Utrecht, Louis Hartlooper Complex is a nostalgic nod to the "good old days" of film viewings in a traditional (now called "Cinema" or "Movie") theatre setting. Arrive an hour or two prior to your film or art afterward to enjoy bites and drinks in one of three on-site cafes, all with unique menus and atmospheres. With a popular location on the famous and lovely Twijnstraat in the Utrecht City Centre, you may wish to plan a day of sightseeing, window shopping and taking in a film.

Very well helped at the checkout by a friendly guest with good knowledge of films and a funny face. Good tips for a spontaneous film visit. The service was also very friendly. Tasty beers. Explications also very interesting for a little introduction, but not too much;) Definitely recommended!

The Louis Hartlooper Complex (LHC) is a film and culture center in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
The LHC is named after Louis Hartlooper, a well-known and colorful person from Utrecht's film history.
The LHC is housed in a former police station from around 1927 on the Tolsteeg Bridge in the Museum Quarter.
Its possible to park your car in the area. The easiest way to reach it is by Train, bus or bike.
There are a few more bars in the opposite of the Louis Hartlooper Complex.

Great little theater to see a film, have a bite to eat and even grab a drink. The menu is limited but the food is good. The movies are in their native language with dutch subtitles (unless it's in dutch). The theaters are small but have reasonably comfortable seats. I've seen 2 movies here and they have yet to have an intermission.

Hier kan je lekker eten en met de zeer uitgebreide bierkaart kan je daarna lekker genieten van de speciaal biertje tijdens de film. En dat alles in een kleine en authentieke setting.

This place is a classic cafe+movie theater+restaurant all-in-one of Utrecht. It's right next to the museum quarter and Ledig Erf where the city emits a vibrant atmosphere. If you'd like to grab a few beers and see a movie or enjoy some delicious food, it's a good place to drop by. It's also accessible by bus directly from the station.

The nicest cinema in Utrecht where they tell in advance about the film you are going to watch. Nice people and nice atmosphere! You can also eat and drink there, we have no experience with this.

Definitely my favorite cinema, because the selection in five screens is good, the staff is very friendly, nice draft beer that you can take with you into the room, as well as good coffee, nice bars and terrace, tasty snacks. Above all, the prices are very reasonable. It's so much fun here that many people who come here don't even go to the movies! Also recommended is the strip card that allows you to go to the movies 10x (you can also use it in pairs) at all times of the week for only 68! That's really no money, especially if you go on a Saturday night, for example.

We regularly go to the movies here and often have a drink or eat something. They have made the seating arrangement in the halls in such a way that you sit well apart. And there is one-way traffic everywhere because the emergency exits are also used.

Skip the commercial cinema s: this is where the locals go to; where the film-lovers get what they want. Every film gets a short introduction by a storyteller and you re allowed to take your drinks inside. Only negative point is that the seats are not that comfortable anymore after an hour or so. Still your go-to place for watching film.

Earth was a great docu and the bios is fun, with delicious reataurant and very friendly staff. In an old police station of which cells have also been preserved, a monumental building. Two large rooms and some small ones, easy to reach from Vaartse Rijn station (a few minutes' walk)

They always plan the shifts of movies at the same time, so everything from ticketing desks, foyers, bars and toilets are totally overcrowded. The staff cannot handle that and are neither that keen on answering in English nor very friendly in general. It btw starts from the rule that reserved tickets have to be picked up half an hour before the movie starts.

By far the most beautiful cinema in Utrecht. Beautiful rooms, each with its own unique character in a beautiful old building (former police station). Very friendly staff and a great movie selection. At film houses people quickly think of inaccessible films but LHC has quality films for almost all tastes.
