Great baby swimming pool! Simply amazing. But make sure you book in advance!

A good leisure centre catering for most needs with many classes & facilities.

A large parking place will be found for every affordable price

What can I say that hasn't already been said! ?!?!

The facilities are good, but the swimming times prioritise the children's swimming lessons, therefore there's no space in the pool as they use half even when it advertises just swim... makes more money for the centre. Also the sauna/steam room were shut during lessons and there's no access when the pools not being used making it frustrating if you want one after a gym session. Got told to leave very abruptly and light turned off/door opened fully by one male staff member. Not happy, going to get my money back.

Nice leisure centre with big car park and nice swimming pool. Easy location and reachable by tube but quite a walk to the station.

great for fun swim with the kids, water slides ect.

after complaint told to come inland they discuss options.
went in.
told basically that minority child like mine is of no importance,normal children swim classes are more important.said he can come and swim after school on wed(so big of them)until he will be ousted out again because normal children swimming classes will be put in then.so basically he should go somewhere else.
waste of my time.

The swimming facilities and fine, but when you're watching as a parent and have to sit in the sweatbox that is the training pool viewing area it's horrible. Especially since the vending machines hardly ever work so you can't get a drink beforehand

I love to swim and this is a great swimming pool for those that like to put a few lengths in. Beware that those who like to swim with the young family will need to double check the timetable as there are only certain times of timetable that the pool is available for family swimming.

Huge decline in cleanliness since the new contract 'Places for People' took over. The place is becoming shoddy and uncared for. We tried 4 lockers before we got one that locked and even then the strap was broken so had no way of attaching it to ourselves.
Showers, changing rooms and toilets were all disgusting. They say they are redeveloping it, but they could just hire a cleaner for now.

First swim i have had since coronavirus, it was a nicer experience then i was expecting.

Went here with friends and children for a "swimming party " for the kids . They all had a great time. Seated gallery area to keep an eye on the children. Large parking area .

Spoke to reception on the phone after not being able to book activities online. The member of staff advised me I have to pay a cancellation charge as they have a 4 hour cancellation period for classes. This is not stated anywhere on the website. He then insisted this needs to be paid in person at the leisure centre, which then turned out was payable online. The website is not great, but turns out it's more useful than speaking to an incompetent member of staff.

The new refurbishment have really lifted it up. Good gym and swimming pool. Plenty of parking.

only use the kids pool but that is great. dedicated family changing. Kids pool is brilliant.

Lovely, clean facilities including pools, gym, exercise studio and more.

I love this gym! Great facilities, helpful instructors and members of staff. The one thing I would improve on are the toilets. There are only 3 showers in the female changing rooms, which isn't enough quite frankly. And it would be nice if they started putting free soap and shampoo dispensers in the showers too.

Well, it's now Feb 2019, and I'm still swimming as part of my new year's resolution. Loughton leisure centre is nearest for me, and it can get jam-packed as most do this time of the year. So far I haven't crashed into anyone yet, so I'm still motivated and enjoying it, as they say, time will tell.

Equipment is useful even though some of it is quite slow once you try to press buttons, staff are unhelpful, leave out important information when signing up and seem to not know what they are doing at times.

Good facilities, can be difficult getting on popular classes

I found this place can be quite disgusting at times with visitors walking around in their shoes near the shower/pool areas and with parents taking their prams/pushchairs in. The place does offer some sort of shoe overalls to cover them with but most don't use them when picking up their kids unfortunately.

Fantastic new gym with plenty of space and equipment. By far the best in the area But sadly let down by a lack of decent showers. There's only 3 showers in a communal space. They're old and outdated. It reminds me of the old communal showers at football clubs in the 70s! Why didn't they refurb them like the lovely shower cubicles at epping sports centre!? I just don't get it! If you put the Loughton gym with epping's changing rooms, you'd be onto a winner!

Currently in renovations so would not join as it's super cramped, I bet it will look great afterwards though

Good local leisure centre with decent pools (separate children's pool).

It is clean , spacious , modern , up to date and tidy which very good because they maintained how it looks and attracts more people who are active and who want to lose weight. The staff are friendly , responsible , respectful , alert , understanding and caring which will make you have long life friends for good. I have been there with my school when I was little and it was amazing because I know it still maintains their performance to this day. Go there and stay active for life in there. I have been and their facilities is so amazing that it will surprise you with unexpected results that will last with you for a lifetime such as a lot friends , confident boost , weight loss and muscle growth on your body. Don t be too late to go there.

Good modern gym with plenty of machines and free weights scattered about. Staff friendly. Swimming pool very good. Changing rooms upstairs ok, bit cosy. If you want a coffee or a nibble it's out of machines. Pay parking aplenty

Excellent new facilities, friendly staff and wide range of gym equipment. All very reasonably priced.

Good Facilities at a decent price, only problem is being stuck in a contract for 12 months if you want to cancel.

Haven t been here since the renovation, but there s a decent pool size at 25m. Note, it can get pretty busy.

Will re-review when I go there soon for another swim! However, the aesthetic of the new build mirrors the old very nicely in wood and modern, dark colouring.

Undergoing some major redevelopment (finally) that will enhance what is offered and raise the level of the existing services. Pool changing area gets rather grubby by the latter part of the day, could do with hosing down more often. Staff are always polite and friendly. Car park van get busy due to shoppers using it as a cheaper location to park for the high street.

Open Ur sauna n steam bit for more than an hour a day it's half the reason people sign up smhhh

A real shame. Tried here after being a member at David Llyod for so long.
What could be such a good centre, is spoiled by uncleanliness, rude staff and a generally hostile atmosphere. Would not return

Gym is in the middle of being refurbished but still a good place to workout. Friendly helpful reception and membership staff. Will be better when it's finished being refurbed. Looking forward to that.

Swimming pool is very clean and nice built. Also steam and sauna looks like brand new. Very nice and hygienic place.

August 2020 update.

I am trying to book for a family swimming session but they are fully booked for the whole week. There are plenty spaces available on lane swimming sessions and many lane swimming sessions daily but only 1 family session each day. so this doesn't really make sense. clearly there is a balance issue between the activities. families with children should be prioritized especially during hot summer days... My daughters keep asking everyday to swim but we left out as lane swimming for adults only, family sessions are fully booked. Great job. Well done

Never answer the phone when they are clearly doing nothing staff are rubbish only a few pts like Matt that are decent

I swim here twice a week, staff are friendly, pool is always clean and water temperature is OK

Great place for any type of sport. The gym is particularly good with lots of way to entertain ones self with the Televisions scattered evenly across the area. Another Great thing is the swimming area with two big sized pools and well trained lifeguards on hand. The mentors/staff are amazing when teaching and the activities are fun when there is a holiday (Christmas, Summer ect.) This is why the Loughton Leisure Centre is 5 stars.

I wouldn't go there even if they paid me .. Manager is very rude & cocky... & some staff haven't got a clue !!!

Great gym and very good pool. Staff is very helpful. My children train in swimming classes there and progress through stages pretty well.

Staff is quite nice. It's only a shame the courses are always full and the swimming pool use is very restricted. Be sure to check timetables to see if they suit you. For the gym I recommend checking peak times and see if you can go off peak, because it's too full otherwise.

I only use the pool when taking my daughter swimming, facilites are very good and well maintained. Younger children can swim for free on Sunday mornings but you have to book in advance.

Always friendly staff. Good selection of fitness programs.

Poor customer service.They took unauthorised payments out of my account after cancelling my direct debit....still waiting to get my money back....!

Seems nice, went to look over pleasantly surprised, going for physio exercises, looking forward to it, reception staff nice, so we will see.

Great insight to use steam room and the gym is perfectly organized.

Conveniently located with an adequate gym. Very good classes. Have not been since the takeover and unlikely to return given the negative feedback from locals.

Despite all the terrible reviews and my friend getting her purse and phone stolen out of a locker there a few months ago, decided to give the leisure centre a go because we are local. Got our 5 month year old ready to go swimming for the first time, swim pants and costume on, car packed... paid for parking and walked in ready to pay to swim. We were told that Just swim wasn t on and that it was adults only until a few hours time. We told them that the website said it was just swim at this time, to which reception and a manager of some sort said the website didn t say that. We then showed them the website which did say Just swim at that time, for them to basically reply oops we will have to change that then and told we couldn t swim. Do management have any idea what they are doing? Don t waste your time going there.
