Their lack of auto-debit is absurd. And their policy to turn off your water without notice even though making payments because you have more than $60 on your bill (basically a month's bill or less) is abusive (especially when the balance is because they stopped accepting auto-debit payments and stopped providing easy options to make payments (because writing a check or going to the physical location wherever that is as they suggest, is super convenient in 2015 when everything is automated).

Customer service has always been great for me. Love the automatic usage updates on the website. The prices are fair. Also love the 5,000 gallon notice before you hit the next tier. I also think the water tastes fine and feels fine in the shower! A+ service and product!

Yesterday a note was left on our door notifying my family that our water was shut off. The time was handwritten on the note at 9:30am. After arriving home from work the water was shut off. Due to the difficulty paying the bill, it simply slipped through the cracks and Loudoun Water decided to shut off our water after a month.

There was no notice ahead of time. If there had been, we would have happily paid our bill. They aren't open after 5pm and their payment system is so outdated, it took us over an hour to pay our bill.

Now they are charging a 10% late fee as well as a $45 collection fee! It is criminal that they are allowed to shut off water without any notification at all.

I have never dealt with a payment system more out-of-whack than that of Loudoun Water. My wife and I can predict when we will receive an automated phone call from them reminding us that we have a past-due balance. Of course, when we call back, they say they lost our payment but have just relocated it. Today, the phone call was for a $3 past due balance. When we called back, we reminded them that we had just spoken a week ago about this. That seemed to jog their memory, as it does every month. This has been occurring on a monthly basis since we moved to Loudoun County in June of 2014. The excuse "we are in the process of updating our online payment system" is getting VERY old. Update it already! How on Earth is it still possible to have a major utility company with such a failure of a payment system? Shoot, even our local auto parts store can process an online payment! FIX IT.

Don't try to own a fish tank. The chlorine content of water in Loudoun county is so high that your normal water conditioners will not be enough. It's so bad that when you go into the bathroom to take a leak. All you smell is chlorine out of the toilet.

Online services work well, had no issues. The best part is that they have hourly usage data for every house. They have fancy data mining going on in the background, they will give a call if they see continuous water usage over a period of time, indicating a leak. Most people would not even know they have a leak, unless someone is analyzing data like LoudounWater does. Its great
