Trans care is the best in SoCal, people are the most caring health care professionals I've ever met
This public health clinic relies heavily on use of the My Health app.
They provide great services for the LGBTQ community. Easy no judgement testing and mental health services.
Nothing beats the services that the LGBT center provides to our community. I love and appreciate the staff and everything they do! The only thing to know is that this place is extremely busy and waits are long (2-3 hours) if you miss your appointment, or walk in. Doctor referrals take 3 weeks (then add the time to get an appt at that doctor) and mental health services take 2-3 weeks to schedule an intake, and another 8-10 weeks to see someone. If you need help with something quickly, you might want to schedule somewhere else (or ask about crisis counseling). For testing it only took about 1-2 weeks to get an appointment and get it done. Also just learned that parking is free at the lot next door if you validate at the center!
So while I was there I was repeatedly told to leave simply because I said I support Trump which troubles me because I thought the LGBT community was supportive of everyone although they seemed to shun me out of their "Community".
The one stop shop for all community an individual needs and wants!
We're lucky, here in Los Angeles, to have such a comprehensive and robust LGBT network of centers and services (prevention, treatment, pharmacy, psych services, research...). All of which are free, or nearly free if there is a cost to some of the services. Los Angeles public health is an appalling nightmare in comparison. Even if you have private insurance; they are more efficient and acknowledged for immediate treatment. They are an invaluable resource. Get tested regularly ...know your status!!!
This is LGBT center they help a lot of gays trans bi lesbian men and women and youth great staff and services
You would think that it would be priority to send patients prescriptions to their pharmacy on time but it s not. This is the worst clinic to go to stay away you have to call back to back take time out of your work schedule and lose money to run in behind them to make sure they are doing their jobs. They don t care at all. After calling ten times I finally came up here to have my prescriptions put in my hand since they were to incompetent to send them to the pharmacy. I asked to speak with a supervisor that never came out. I waited for over an hour to get prescriptions that were perscribed to me over a week ago. Worst experience of my life! I will never come back to this clinic again in my life.
Been going there for 3 years. ALWAYS been treated with respect and kindness. The staff is knowledgeable and patient. I wouldn't be treated anywhere else.
Its great that theres a place like this at all, but the quality of service is really a matter of luck. Sometimes someone picks up the phone and sometimes they wont. Sometimes a doctor is on site and other times you'll have to come back. Sometimes u get what you need and other times they'll lose track, like they lost my test results
Great team working there, the only real hassle is the length you can be on hold for, it can get annoying and really takes away from the whole, Your call is important to us .
Love this place. They are really there to help free of charge. It is amazing. They are actually here to help and prevent and not to try and take a maximum of your money like many doctor's offices in the US are. On top of that, hard working and friendly staff. Thank you!
Very clean and fast service. Staff is very nice and well-organized.
The center is great has helped me allot, however they should get professional team to answer the phones. There rude and they have a 3 missed appointment policy i was on the phone for 2 hours to cancel an appointment.
Best place for lgbtq and straight people who are seeking for conselling and treatment.
The biggest LGBT center in the world! Staff are friendly & there clinic is the best around,They have a RN Case Manager by the name of Alana, that goes above & beyond for clients who have Dr.Matt as their Doctor, Alana makes the LGBT Center high standards!I give that nurse 100 Stars if it was possible! Thank you Alana for all that you do . but there pharmacy kinda sucks, but other then that there all good!
terrible place discriminating people that is not LGBT
The staff and visitors are freindly and you can feel safe regardless of your gender
Awesome services and professional, caring staff at all levels!
Great staff. Long wait though. I love it here. I feel at home, they know what they need and how to treat people. You re not just another patient to them.
Really disappointing / poor department management.. go to West Hollywood location.
Bless the staff that has to put up with all these version of systems.. They call you by your name, a number, hand out tickets.. send you here, then, there.. this place is mess. Already has a bad rep.
Every time I go to this center I'm really surprised with how unprofessional, and disjointed this place is. Its one of the largest centers in CA, multiple floors and tons of employees. There just seems to be a bad communication between the lab, admitting, the councilors that all falls on patiences.. which is disheartening because people go there to get helped... not figure out how to get help.
Today I have two appointments for prep navigation, I checked in on the 3rd floor. Was given a ticket that said Multiple appointments and directed to wait on the second floor. I go to the second floor, there no admitting desk.. I have to knock on a door and seek assistance. Then I was led into an office told to wait for the prep councilors. I overheard the staff laughing because I was there too early "Well great for him he's here early but they don't come until later".. I booked my appointment for 11am and the staff wasn't there to assist me.
I cancelled my two appointments for the hollywood location and rebooked new ones for the west hollywood location.
Nice to know there is a mental illness center for all who need it.
Had an irritating experience this last time but overall it is usually quick and efficient. And the staff is amazing and friendly
Always a good place to go for services. They have a good layout, parking, and the employees are accessible.
Great comprehensive care and helpful, friendly and intelligent medical staff. So glad they are there for us!!
Only help you can get if you allow to be tested and inspected by there doctors. Kinda discriminating on those with out actual ailments or preferences to be serviced medically for any assistance. Another way to catfish a cause.
A COMPLETE JOKE. PEOPLE ANSWER THE PHONE THEN HANG UP ON YOU AND SEND U TO VOICEMAIL OVER AND OVER. WHERES THE EMPLOYEES WHO ACTUALLY WANTS TO WORK NOT THESE HOMELESS OLD EX DRUG ADDICT QUEENS WHO NEEDED A LITTLE MONEY. BE MINDFUL OF WHO YOU HAVE WORKING FOR YOU I SEE WHY COMMENTS BEFORE ME ARE CALLING YOU PEOPLE HEARTLESS
The staff is always nice, i feel very welcomed here, also the pharmacy prices are great
Amazon place. They provide much needed services and it's a safe, all inclusive space.
The clinic is packed. But there are a lot of activities that come out of this center.
This is the LARGEST LGBTQ ORG in THE US. They have groups from over the world to tour facilities for this reason. If U sign up 4 an HMO, the ACA, "ObamaCares", Medi-Cal, Medicaid... this place is great! I kno straight couples who go there. They have the premiere HIV/AIDS Clinic that's also doing research, an STD Clinic, in-house lab & pharmacy (OFFERS BEST DISCOUNT PRESCRIPT PRICES AROUND!!!), counseling & psych svcs, social & referral srvs, Transgen, residential youth svcs. 1 prob: it's a TON of pprwrk 2 sign up for the 1st time & it could take couple wks, but so worth it. GR8 staff, AMAZING DRs, free prkng in lot North of bldg with validtn., Single Sex, Co-ed or Omni-Sex(?) bathrooms on some floors, so double check 1st ;-) Just south of Hollywood Blvd between Highland & Vine (both Red Line Metro stations.
This place is not great for maintenance medication. The systems at WH and here do not communicate and the staff doesn t seem to know how to refill prescriptions when they run out and need to he renewed. A pharmacy requests renewals and they do not hear back. I submit a request on the app and do not hear back but call when I am running out and have to set up an appointment for something I take regularly just for the doctor to agree that I need it. Also, I needed a new prescription and it took 2 weeks to get it and I still had to call and get it pushed that day to get filled when I was told it was being filled (it wasn t).
