I had my corrective jaw surgery done with Drs. Walline and Relle. I was truly impressed by the support I received from the doctors and staff here. They were very thorough addressing concerns I had about finances and timing of my procedure. The office was also very proactive about coordinating treatment with my orthodontist, which I appreciated.
A long review-story for the anxious (like me!):
Over the past year I was told by three dentists "oh wow look at those wisdom teeth, those are gonna cause problems." I'm 25 and my bottom teeth were completely impacted and horizontal and poised to hit my second molars one day, but were not hurting me. My top ones were straight, but still in the gum and only kind of hurt infrequently as though they were breaking through the gum.
Overall though all four of my wisdom teeth were starting to cause me anxiety--they felt like ticking time bombs and began driving me crazy, but an equal anxiety was the stress of a potential surgery (what would be my first!). So I finally requested a wisdom teeth removal consult at LACOMS in July after some research on good LA oral surgeons. I chose LACOMS because of their purely 5 star reviews. My consult was with Dr. Jay Lee. He was very attentive, gentle, thorough, never made me feel dumb in asking my MANY questions, and reassuring. He kept making a point to say that this was entirely my decision and that if he was to do my surgery, he expected x,y,z level of difficulty and recovery for me based on my teeth. Very level and grounded. I'm a grad student, so I wanted to enjoy the rest of my summer and expected to schedule the surgery some time closer to winter break. But that anxiety was there and growing. So one night when I felt some of that gum pain from upper wisdom teeth I said screw it and the next day I emailed Dr. Lee's wonderful coordinator, Kelsey (who I had been in frequent contact with with questions after my consult), to schedule an appointment for August 16th.
I was SO SCARED! I had scheduled an extra early, 7am appointment, so I wouldn't be stressing all day, followed the pre-op instructions to a T before I arrived and was ready to go. Dr. Lee was very comforting prior to my surgery and took time to answer more questions I had. When it was time I was brought to the surgery room, sat in the chair, and the last things I remember was Dr. Lee putting the IV in, asking me about my research, and then I woke up in the recovery bed! All 4 wisdom teeth out. So weird. I personally was surprisingly aware afterwards, just extra drowsy, and even remember when Dr. Lee came to check on me and I asked more questions and he said "you're not gonna remember any of this." I did, Dr. Lee! ;-) haha.
Recovery, though nervewracking at first because I didn't know what to expect, was shockingly fine. I really thought the pain would be 10x worse than it was and to be honest I only took painkillers for two days. I did take a small round of antibiotics which Dr. Lee prescribed automatically to ward off only the slightest possible infection in one of my healing sites. But things went SO well. My swelling went down pretty much 100% within 6 days, peaking around day 4, and less than two weeks after the surgery it was like the surgery never happened. I'm so happy to be rid of my wisdom teeth and they will never cause me problems and happy that I got them out young where I'd heal better. Above all, I'm INCREDIBLY happy I got them out at LACOMS and with Dr. Lee!!! He is truly a world-class oral surgeon. On the logistics side LACOMS is out of network for all health insurances only being in-network for my dental, but they happily bill your health insurance for you and most major health insurances will cover wisdom teeth removal. It is so worth it though. 10/10 would recommend. Happy to add ANOTHER 5 star review for LACOMS.
My daughter needed 2 teeth pulled and we were lucky enough to find Dr. Benjamin Walline. His office staff couldn't have been more pleasant to my daughter and I. We were treated so nice-the whole experience was great. My daughter and I felt safe and reassured that she would be treated with excellent care and she was. I can't think of a better office to go to if you need oral surgery. I would 100 percent recommend Dr. Walline.
The Staff at Dr. Walline's office is amazing from the front desk(Ruth & Jackie) the nurses, and Dr. Walline himself. They make you feel very comfortable no matter what procedure you are having done. I would definitely recommend them, and if I have to get anything else done I'll come back to here.
Dr. Lee removed large mandibular tori, extracted a tooth, and gave me a dental implant. I can not speak highly enough about Dr. Lee. His bedside manner is beyond kind, wonderful, and patient. His team is incredibly friendly and comforting as well. I was in excellent hands. I recommend LACOMS to everyone that needs any type of oral surgery or dental implants.
Scheduling my surgery for Implants was very nerve wrecking, however; the friendly staff at LA-COMS was very helpful and knowledgeable in what they do. Gerry and Atalie who are the surgical techs are kind and have great professionalism. Dr. Kupferman is very talented at what he does and i can see why this practice is very reputable. During surgery, i did not feel any pain at all being awake. Haira the front desk rep is a very nice and made sure my appointment ran efficiently. If anyone is needing implants i would highly recommend this place for dental implants.

This is just an FYI. I called to get a quote on a implant and the responses was we don t give quotes over the phone. The only option was a consultation for 285.00.

I came in to get 2 implants. I am a really nervous patient and was afraid of the pain. Dr. Kupferman and his whole staff were super patient with me and very informative. Dr. Brittany Sonnichsen is the best!! Shes very kind, super knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable going into surgery. Excellent surgeon and she truly cares about her patients. If you want top quality care she is definitely the doctor to see. Highly recommended!
Dr. Lee is the man! By far the best doctor I have ever worked with. His staff (Nancy, Gerry, and other assistants, sorry for forgetting the names, I was out under lol, were amazing). Very easy process. Had tooth pain and was seen within 3 days and had a successful, painless surgery. Dr. Lee and his team know what they are doing!

I had double jaw surgery here in August. Primary surgeon was Dr. Benjamin W. Walline. From the introductory phase through now (recovery), the end results look great and I don't feel like I even had surgery as the only real discomfort I had was not being able to eat foods I enjoy, like fried chicken and steak.
I understand that every person may experience the process a little different, but I think my experience was too perfect. The process was so efficient and the results effective, I would do it again and again. In other words, I was in good hands.
Excellent service and very friendly staff, I had a great experience with my surgery and my recovery went very well. I would recommend LACOMS to anyone that needs to have an oral surgery.

Getting any oral surgery done is never going to be a glamorous process, but I feel extremely fortunate to have had my procedure done here by Dr. Lee.
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and unfortunately developed an infection several days later, but having Dr. Lee and his staff made it a bearable process. The infection made me quite a frequent visitor, and have become a familiar face around the office and have been helped by Haira, Alexis, Val, Ruth, Gerry, & a few others whose name I didn't catch. Every single person that I interacted with has been caring, patient, & reassuring, which I am grateful for particularly because I had a lot of fears going through this process. Dr. Lee in particular has followed up with me several times in person and via text (even when I texted him at 7AM) in order to make sure I'm recovering well, demonstrating an unparalleled level of commitment to patient care.

Excellent practice. My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Jay Lee. Everyone in the office was organized, professional and friendly. They made pre-op, day of and post-op easy and comfortable for us and everyone, including the doctor, was available to answer any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this group.
My wisdom tooth extraction went really well and everyone was really nice.
I was referred here by my Dentist in Sherman Oaks and was pleasantly surprised at every turn with Dr. Kupferman. Unlike most of my friends who's extraction and implant surgeries took place 4-5 months apart... Dr. Kupferman was able to extract my tooth and place the implant in the same surgery. Now there's the possibility that I could have my permanent crown placed just months later.
The staff was extremely professional and everything went better than I planned. Hopefully I never crack a tooth again, but I'm glad to know this practice is there if I do.

I got all four wisdom teeth removed back in November 2015. I was in and out in less than a half hour since I was awake for my procedure. It took me longer to park and check in than to sit for the procedure. And it probably took longer than normal since he had to break one of them because it was coming in at an angle. I felt no pain during, just felt the pressure. I took painkillers after but that's standard. I absolutely recommend Dr. Walline.
From start to finish, our experience at LACOMS was wonderful and flawless. Insurance options were explained clearly, making the appointment for surgery was easy. Anesthesiologist called the night before to make sure we were all set and allowed me to ask any last questions, which I appreciated. Day of surgery was great my daughter felt prepared and had no nerves whatsoever, and even woke up smiling. :) Her recovery has been easy and we were grateful Dr Lee checked up on us by text the evening of the surgery.
The surgery was a success, and had no pains after the operation. I appreciate the expertise greatly, and I thoroughly recommend Dr. Lee

My experiences with LACOMS and the Staff there have been so positive. My Husband joined me both times I had an appointment there and each time we arrived we were greeted by the friendly Front Desk Staff and we both felt like the practice had a warm, welcoming feel. The wait time was very short, and on a random note, I'd like to mention that their x-ray machine produces the coolest looking x-rays I've ever seen! So detailed and interesting. From my 1st time at LACOMS when I had my consultation with Dr. Walline for my condition related to a jaw surgery that I had with another surgeon, until now when I requested to see him for a check up on my progress, he has treated me with kindness, respect, and made me feel like everything with my healing was going to be great! He'll never know how much that all has meant to me. To even just hear that from someone with his incredible skills and experience gives me so much hope and peace of mind. I wish I had found him sooner and that I would have had the opportunity to have all of my jaw surgery related treatment performed by him and the other nice Doctor that wanted to help me with him named Dr. Relle but I'm glad that I know them now and I appreciate their help so much. The ambush wisdom tooth extraction surgery itself was very scary, but thanks to Dr Lee and the staff of LACOMS, I successfully had the surgery without any major problems. I heard every time that I had to go to a large university hospital in Korea because the wisdom tooth is a complex surgery near the nerves, but I was first consulted by Dr Lee at LACOMS, and I was relieved to say that such surgery is performed every day and it is not a very complicated surgery. Certainly, LACOMS is a place where four experienced specialists who perform oral surgery every day are located, so it seems like a place where you can safely entrust your surgery.
From pre-surgery consultation to post-surgery follow-up, the doctors and staff all answered the questions kindly, and I am 100% satisfied as they are well healed after surgery. I would like to strongly recommend it to those who are looking for a good place to extract wisdom teeth. :)

Jaw Surgery Consultation w/ Dr. Walline
The front desk was awesome, courteous and organized. When I arrived, my appointment began almost immediately.
Dr. Walline was phenomenal; his warm and friendly demeanor put me at ease. He first introduced himself and began asking questions to help him understand my needs and perspective. After, he took precise measurements of my face using lasers and created a potential treatment plan. This is where Dr. Walline impressed me the most. He carefully explained to me, given my specific situation, that I was within MY equal right to either elect having surgery or not. He also did not try to "upsell" me on additional treatment and was happy to explain that I would not require lower jaw surgery or a genioplasty. Even better, he also mentioned that my specific case would not require braces or invisalign before, during OR after the surgery (literally saving me thousands in time and money off the top). EVERY other doctor's office I had called emphatically told me that no matter what the situation, I would require braces due to the outdated surgical methods they employ. Dr. Walline and LACOMS are truly on the cutting edge of orthognathic surgery! After, Dr. Walline again emphasized that surgery was my choice and that he was there to provide any additional information and clarification that would help me. He truly had my best interest in mind; I appreciated his candor and elected to move forward with the surgery.
Jacquie Wiltshire, the treatment coordinator, met with me after my consultation to go over details such as cost and scheduling. In most offices, the treatment coordinator will try to push you into a "sale" before you walk out the door. My experience with Jacquie was the exact opposite. She was consultative, warm, and genial. She took the time to understand my financial situation and then discussed various methods of payment that would best fit me. After we finished talking, she gave me her business card along with a folder that contained all the information we went over.
Since then, Jacquie has served as my point of contact for the office. She is highly accessible; I have been able to speak with her every time I called. She is more than happy to answer any questions I didn't have initially. I could not imagine a better treatment coordinator to be working with, I really feel as though she is my personal advocate, which is the best thing any patient could hope!
In summary, LACOMS employs the best at all levels of their business and it really shows. I could not imagine trusting my jaw with any other doctor or facility. Thank you for allowing me to be a patient here, it truly feels like an honor and privilege.
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted a few weeks ago by Dr. Lee and his team. They were very supportive throughout the whole process and would check in on me to make sure my recovery was going okay. Dr. Lee and his staff were available and ready to address any of my concerns any time I would reach out. I would not like to ever get my wisdom teeth extracted again but if I did I would not hesitate in getting treated by Dr. Lee and his amazing staff.
After seeing all the positive reviews online, I chose LACOMS for having my three impacted wisdom teeth removed. I m completely terrified of all dental/medical procedures, but everyone at LACOMS was incredibly understanding, kind, personable,and professional. Dr. Lee performed my surgery and seems to have done a great job as I m sure is the case for most people, recovery is not pleasant, per say, but I feel comfortable knowing that I could reach out to Dr. Lee or anyone at their office should anything go wrong. Everything was GREAT from start to finish! Dr. Relle is the BEST! And his entire staff were so nice and caring and helpful through pre-surgery appointments, surgery and post-surgery appointments. The outcome was incredible and we did not experience any complications. I highly recommend Dr. Relle and his staff.

Quite honestly, this office, the staff and the doctors here have set the bar incredibly high for what all medical experiences should feel like. Every time I come back to LACOMS I m more and more impressed with the care and quality of service. I ve had two wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Kupferman in the past with remarkably little pain and a super quick recovery. Today I had my last two removed by Dr. Lee. Dr. Lee was patient, kind, and has magical hands that got both teeth out, painlessly, in maybe five minutes with only local. Eight hours later I m blood free and pain free. Was able to return to work the day of. The office staff is friendly and helpful. Can t be beat!

Dislocation of my upper wisdom tooth was less than 5 minutes (no pain !) passed 4 hours and I have no pain or swollen!
And I do not take any medication.

I broke my manadable in two different places front and back. The attending physician at Torrance Memorial EMT couldn't find anyone available within my network capable of doing the procedure. She was able to reach out beyond my HMO network and find Dr. Lee and his team. I waited 10 years from the first recommendation by my dentist to pull out all 4 of my wisdom teeth. Now I'm well into my 40s, a male. Why now, during a pandemic? Good question. Call it laziness, call it fear, maybe I needed to get it over with this year. My dentist and her team recommended two oral surgeons for the task, but I was nudged towards Dr. Brittany L. Sonnichsen by one member of the team due to her "gentle" approach and that I wouldn't regret it. I knew that in the end it would not matter - the pain would come. I opted to go under and deal with the results. The results, to my surprise, on a daily basis, was a whole lot of NOTHING - no swelling, no pain. I'm not even sure I needed the prescribed ibuprofen. Dr. Brittany L. Sonnichsen credited me as being a good healer but no doubt she played a HUGE part of all that nothingness I was able to enjoy post-surgery. A huge thank you to Dr. Sonnichsen and her supporting cast in the surgery room and in the office. Could not have gone any smoother.
