Longmont Recreation Center Review

I love the fitness center. It's a world class facility. We are fortunate to have the Rec center here in Longmont.

Great place, tons of great activities as well as a climbing rock wall. My only issue is that it is a little pricey. Luckily there is plenty to do here which might make it worth your while.

Great place to work out and swim. The locker rooms are generally pretty clean. My kids love it.

This is an awesome place to unwind for a few hours - a lot to do, especially when they have the water park running.

If you're an adult who wants to swim, your only option is laps. The rest of the pool is too shallow for swimming, but great for kids who want to play. I don't know about any of the other facilities, because I just went there to watch my daughter swim. My low review is because of the manager. He screamed at another staff member at the front desk about me. Everyone around turned to look. It was humiliating. He called me a liar and said I was trying to cheat them. Right, I may be frugal, but I wouldn't lie-especially not for $5.75. But I will save my money and try a different facility. I'd be too embarrassed to go back there any time soon.

It's fun but after you go swimming a few times it gets boring

Where do I start?
I would like to give them more stars, but their child care is lacking in service times & they seem to have more classes geared towards age 50+ or class times are for people who can work from home and have more flexibility in their time.
Much of their equipment needs to be updated and in some areas, the equipment is too close to the stairwell. Their bathrooms are not clean especially for those of us who have kids. They seem over staffed in some areas, and lacking in others.
The only reason I give 2 starts is due to having kind employees and trainers.
Once I see changes, I'll definitely give more stars.

Huge multi level facility! Has very nice quality high end workout equipment / machinery, lots of TVs, steam room, sauna, hot tub, pool, water park, Rock climbing wall, tennis / basket ball courts, and much more!

Not bad!! Great if you're going for the kidos, pool, slides, etc. Gym wise, there wasn't a lot going on that felt comfortable. Lots of men sitting & watching each other/talking on the equipment, not actually working out but lounging here.

The dance floor is fun, just be mindful of other classes going on.

Pool, hot tub, kiddy pool, tube slides, wet & dry sauna. Much cleaner in the updated locker area too compared to the local Y. Cheaper family pkage here as well compared to the Y costs. It's just up to you what you're looking for.

Nice place, great pool and gym. Workout area is usually crowded from the limited size of the room. Overall a great place to workout.

This place is bery brand new is very fun is nice i loved i recomend pool jacuzzy sauna steem room is nice tho relax

Great swimming pool! The water is a little chilly for super young children who don't swim much yet.

Great facility, very clean & colorful. Kid pool has awesome water features. 2 giant slides, a lazy river, and then a separate lap pool with diving board. Locker rooms are well maintained & family changing area is nice.

I was at the rec center in a top 10 situation I went toward the deep end and found a 500 foot tarantula I jumped In to go say hi but I checked out early and the other person get a lobster dinner.

I love the pool! They have water slides, a hot tub, a huge play area for kids, a lap pool, and a river area. Their classes both in the pool and out of it are awesome. I can t wait until they open up again!

Great place to go to swim in FECAL MATTER. Filthy pool. steam and sauna rooms with kids throwing football's around is not my idea of a pleasant experience. Won't be back. Also, life guard classes going on with teens in thong bikinis around children is extremely inappropriate.

Main place to do some working out or use the pool stuff.

This is a great rec center. Good pool, decent weight room, nice indoor track. The only thing to really say in the negative is that Longmont needs either a 2nd one on the NorthWest side of town or to expand this one as our population grows. On busy days it can be a bit crowded.

I give the Longmont Rec center five stars. What a great place for people of all ages to get fit and have fun.
I have traveled around the country for a year in my RV and have stopped at many local rec centers. Longmont takes the cake! Glad to be able to participate in Silver Sneakers classes and other fitness fun.

Great value, friendly staff. The weight room is a bit cramped.

Low cost for admission, hours of operation are good, facilities are kept in good condition.

Nice swimming areas and slides. The lazy River is very slow. Crowded on the weekends. Be sure to bring your own lock for the lockers.

Getting back into swimming after the covid closure was nice. It is not too crowded with the scheduling system.

Great place to work out. I love that I can climb and swim laps here.

Wonderful family facility, plenty to do and always clean. Great staff and a great environment.

Nice rec center. Well equipped with an awesome pool area and climbing gym. It gets a little overrun with the kiddies at times.

Good place for exercise, pool, and indoor games. Needs a bigger climbing wall.

Climbing wall, diving board, basketball courts, waterslides. This place is awesome and I try and get here for a fun workout as often as possible

Excellent facility. They have everything you need for fitness and family entertainment. It is full of life with children and adults enyoing all kind if activities like their amazing pool with a separate section for kids with water games, etc. Also an excellent climbing wall and the gym has everything you need including a walking platform. They even offer daycare! We're coming back for sure

I only utilized the pool, but the rest of the place looked impressive!! Beautiful gym, rock climbing wall. The lockers are big and clean and fantastic and open into the steam room and sauna!!! Absolutely love! Everything is well maintained always in working condition and up to par!!! The pool is so fun! Two huge slides that twist and drop. Me and my kids all have a blast. Great kiddie pool area shallow with small kiddie slide and fun fountains. Main pool with Lapp lanes a diving board and water basketball. There is even a lazy river. The pools are all heated too! Very comfortable and enjoyable. I absolutely love this rec center. I keep coming back.

Great place for the entire family. Only complaint, workout area is small.

Hot tub too cool at 102 degrees. It's okay, but should be 104 to 106 at least.

As a resident of Longmont, I am proud of this place!

Went back for the first time since covid to the weight room. It seems pretty safe though not everyone follows the rules : mask and wiping equipment. So I wipe before and after use and stay far away from the maskless.

Great place for a great price! The cost is about the same for my whole family as a single person at most gyms plus you get access to discounts for classes and 2 other facilities. I only wish it had a racquetball court. Other than that, the facility is wonderful.

Adore this place! Rock wall is great. Weekends are crowded, and at times the kids get into the hot tub without adult supervision, staff is friendly and helpful

The recreation center has long been a place for some inexpensive fun such as swimming, running, basketball, and pool, to name a few. You can also take a class offered here or get to know the community.

Beautiful rec center with so many things to do... highly recommend checking out the pool/swim area!

Really crowded and unorganized weight area. My kids love the pools and rockwall. Great safe atmosphere.

This facility focuses more on rooms for activities/sports. Their weight room is small comparatively.

I love it but i dont like that there is so much people i like to be alone when im in the pool SOMETIMES

Clean w/ a wide variety of equipment and I can usually find a lane to swim in.

Very clean facility! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rec center has reasonable prices (especially family passes) when considering there is a full weight gym, pool w/ slides, basketball courts and classes. Getting checked in is quick and parking is never a problem. I have paid for all kinds of gyms from 24 hr fitness, Lifetime Fitness and other rec centers. This place is by far the best value I have received.

The state they have an "Open Gym". They have three full size courts and would only allow two courts to be used in the "Open Gym" for volleyball for 1 hour. They closed the second court for Volleyball after an hour for 3 basketball players. There were 36 voleyball players and 9 basketball players. Only 12 people can play at one time in volleyball. Which means they had four full teams sitting for 9 basketball players. It takes 10 to make a full basketball game. They did not have enough people to play a full court game in basketball and yet they shut down the second court for the basketball players. The staff and manager on duty did not want to hear about it. They stated "That is just the way it is". I would give zero stars if I could.

Aside from the bums galore...This place is good for the whole family Everyone will be doing they're own thing I'll start upstairs with light lifting stretching cardio A great way to defeat boredom then I'll end up in the steam room and pool Awesome climing wall is fun too...staff seems courteous..attentive

The waterslides are great, and the kiddie pool is huge! There's also a lazy river that's a lot of fun!

My kids love it here. The indoor pool and water park is super fun. It has something that all my kids can enjoy.

There are great things about Longmont's Rec Center. The pool area with slides, lazy river, lap pool and hot tub. Steam room and sauna, Bonus! Climbing wall, super cool. Friendly staff. Good selection of classes. All these great things are the reasons we need another facility. Basically the few negative things about this facility all come back to occupancy. The weight area is already small but then add the folks getting off work and trying to fit in a workout before the evening grind, and you have mayhem. Dirty locker rooms, mainly the family rooms, too many people for the custodian to keep up with. No parking.... again. We have a need greater than this one facility can meet. The fact that is not centrally located seems odd as well. But to end on a positive note... I always have the greatest time swimming with my grandson here. Pool is warm which helps kids not "freak out" when becoming familiar with the water.

If you like to make your kid learn swimming, this is one of the great places to go. The cost of the lessons is also less. It has other options like gym, play area etc.

Facilities are nice, staff is excellent. This unfortunately does nothing to change the fact that at least any time in the evening it's really overcrowded, especially in the weight room. If you wanna casually lift some weights after work or dinner, you best be prepared to scrounge for what little equipment you can use amongst a sea of thugs, and chest-pounding mountain-men types. Does not at all have a comfortable family vibe upstairs. The staff is very friendly, but none of them ever seem to be upstairs patrolling, or enforcing rules. There used to be a little, old lady who walked around up there and kept people in line, but haven't seen her in a long time. Same goes for the track, always people stopping on the track to talk, kids running the wrong way, nobody does anything. Oh, and even with the new lot, parking is an exercise in rage control. As well, the child watch you count on so you work-out is more and more just 'Full, sorry" I like the possibilities of the place, but I doubt we will renew if it doesn't change drastically, and soon.

Best rec center in the region. Love it! The hot tub, the water Park area, the lap lanes. All my favorites.

Has always been the place I go to to have fun with friends and family. Helped make swimming one of my favorite hobbies ever. Thank you for all the good memories and events. I can t wait for when COVID is over and I can come back
