Definitely enjoyed my Shark Dive experience, bucket list check off!!!
A great place for kids and adults to spend their time at.
My Daughter is scheduled to have her wedding on 7/1/16 at the Atlantis Aquarium they have been very difficult to work with, very unaccommodating. We had a head count minimum of 120 people our final count was 91 we are 29 people short, we still paid for 120 people, the staff was un-willing to work with us to put the $3000 dollars that was left, towards something else. I have nothing nice to say about the staff that worked with us to plan my daughter s special day.
So many interactive areas to visit. Love the butterfly and bird area!
Kids loved and so did the adults very friendly staff
Cute attraction for a 1.5 hr trip inside and outside attractions and you can feed a couple of the exhibits. Butterfly garden was pretty cool too.
Some exhibits were closed due to covid, but the fish were beautiful! The otter was a riot and who doesn't love penguins!! The parking was a block away on a side street. Pay attention to the vinyl sign on the fence across the street from the aquarium-it directs you to parking.
I like the ambiance as you come in. The murals. I do find this aquarium too small in general for admission fee they charge. And on top of that, you have to pay separately for everything else. My favorite feature is the (live) Butterfly Room, which is included in admission fee. The shark tank too is exciting. You can bring your own snack/lunch and eat it at the outside eating area.
They have some nice exhibits. But for what they charge to get in...there should be more to sea. Get it...sea
There are extra exhibits such as the butterfly room...but there are extra costs.
Wanna feed the sting rays... extra charge.
Wanna feed the sharks...extra charge.
Wanna swim with the sharks...guess what...extra charge.
Wanna park your car...yup...you guessed it....extra charge.
They are also now more of a wedding and convention center. The wedding I went to there was lovely...but I'm sure it cost the bride and groom a lot of money.
You can feed the birds, touch the manta ray, rock climbing, shark tank diving, and they also have a marine wolf show which is really fun. you can have so much fun in this place that time would not be enough.
I had a great time at the aquarium!! ..also my admission was free since it was my birthday . I would like to go again when its a little cooler so I can see the seals perform. My favorite was the sharks and the stingrays!
They were extremely rude my family kids 1 1/2,6 months , 11 my 11 year old said she absolutely hated! All people were rude we could not do anything and when I asked for my money for the butterfly show back ($14) they said no in an extremely rude way my six month old was sleeping in the stroller and the lady at the sea loin show said I could not bring her in the stroller and I had to take her out. When I said I can't she showed me the way to the stroller parking!!!!
Very nice. Gets very crowded. Place could use some repair & updating inside & out though. Friendly staff. Can go in a shark tank with shark cage if you pay extra which is pretty cool. They have a cute gift shop that they cleverly have you walk through when exiting the aquarium.
A great experience and exhibition for a, "small town" !!!
Fun and educational.
Although it was a cold day, the temperature in the interior of the aquarium was quite comfortable. Some attractions are outside though, so if you want to see the Sea Lion show or the penguins you will need to have warm clothing depending on the weather.
Great place to spend a few hours with the family. Nicely kept and maintained facility. Healthy animals.
Sorry excuse of an aquarium. Extremely expensive for what it really is. Even the garbage food is overpriced. If you are going to waste your time coming here, make sure you bring your own snacks and beverages. I hope some of the ticket money at least goes towards conservation.
$125 for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids. Very hot...felt like no a/c. Also very small for the money. Went through the whole place in a hour and a half
A fun family adventure about 1.5 hours outside of the city. The facility is a bit dated but overall a nice place to visit. The sealion show was adorable.
Great place to take the kids! So much to see. They even have a butterfly house! We spent the whole day. Well worth the ride out here!
Awesome place, my fiance did the shark dive too which was a awesome experience
It's not Sea World and a little pricey for the limited exhibits and atmosphere.
Wonderful experience for children who are interested in marine life
Great place to bring the kids. Entire visit usually lasts around 2 hours.
This aquarium is out near the forks of long Island. They have a butterfly area, and for some money you can swim with the Sharks!
Had a great time with my 7yr old son .. he loved the butterfly exhibit
This place is nice especially for children. It has a good collection of marine life. It has a butterfly garden too, which was awesome. This aquarium has a huge tank where big sharks are kept which is a centre of attraction for many people. Ticket cost for 1 person is dollar 21 plus taxes. Thanks
Small, but fun. Great for kids and adults, especially if you're into saltwater fish.
Butterfly garden is really nice.
A little pricey but something to do. Go when the weather is warm so you can enjoy the outdoor exhibits as well.
Great experience. Little disappointed! A lot smaller than I imagine, no dolphin, no killer whale, still worth to see
I love the fact that when I was there there was a sea lion show outside. But not many sea creatures. I enjoyed it.
From Nassau county. 45 minute drive out to Riverhead on a Saturday afternoon. Regular adult price $29.95. @4pm prices are half off. They close at 5pm
The seals are in the front and the sting Ray's swim in a large pool in the lobby you can touch them feed them that is a really cool experience. The turtle pool is also in the lobby. So if you get there at 3/330 half hour or so is not worth double the price. You can chill in the lobby and enjoy the sting Ray's and turtles and seals while you wait for 1/2 prices at 4.
Definitely need more than an hour to take your time and enjoy the place if you want to see it all BUT if you wanna see a beautiful shark tank with beautiful sharks and fishes, catch a glimpse of the sea otter and the penguins and the seahorses and octopus monkeys and snakes, great price. A time frame of 2-5 would have been much nicer though, we rushed through.
The BUTTERFLY HOUSE IS A MUST SEE and with a 4-5pm window the butterfly house was left for another trip. GO EARLY AROUND 12PM they open at 10 ENJOY IT TAKE YOUR TIME
The infamous LI Aquarium in Riverhead.... convenient location. Definitely something to do with the kids once or twice a year. The fish, sharks, stingrays, penguins, butterflies and birds are very cool. They have a wide variety of things to see.The fact that you have to pay for each extra can get pretty expensive. The food is overpriced and not very good. I would recommend hiding lunch in the diaper bag or going down the strip for food. Its a fun day out and deff something to do. A good 2-3 hour experience.
Easy to get to with exhibits and animals that the whole family can enjoy
Fish and animals, bugs and butterflies. A fun spot to take the kids. Parking cost money in season and gets crowded. Out of season still a lot of fun. Check your library to discount tickets. Price otherwise is a bit high with lots of ways to get higher as you add on other things.
Was very interesting to see all the different types of Sea creatures.
Way to expensive for what you get, 30$ for small shark pools. Tegy really need to improve kids activities.
Good place to bring your family during this pandemic just to have a breather. Social distancing is being practiced here, so be patient. When buying the tickets, they are sold in time slot. The aquarium is a bit on the smaller size, you can probably finish in 2 hours, unless you waited for all the shows and feeding. Some areas are outdoor, bring an umbrella or poncho if rain is expected. No on site parking. We parked on a residential street a block away. A bit pricey, you do get in for free a week prior and after your birthday.
Had a good time with the kids seeing the fish, penguins, reptiles, and butterflies. Enjoyed the seal show
I had a great time here with my family. We walked into a room full of butterflies. In another room there were a few birds and you can feed them but make sure to buy the food before entering the room. The sea lion show was pretty short in my opinion but it was good. They have a shark dive but you have to book ahead of time. There are other activities you can do for a small aquarium it has way more activities than other aquariums. The staff were amazing and the bathrooms were clean.
Small aquarium that is well designed and laid out. More than just sea life here, with monkeys, marmosets, porcupines. You can see everything and a sea lion show in 2 to 3 hours. Also a butterfly room where you walk among them. Beautiful displays.
Please update the bird exhibit! The poor little guys have almost no toys and only about two branches it's sad . They pace on the ground and lots of them seem to be plucking. If you're going to make money off of them atleast use some of that money to build a proper bird exhibit. It's really a shame how sad a lot of these animals seem.
The aquarium is one of my favorite long island attractions. There are a lot of exhibits and you can really spend the whole day here. I enjoy both the indoor and outdoor portions so you can get some sunlight. There are also shows you can watch where animals are being fed/ doing tricks which is my favorite. There is a little food court with a nice selection of snacks and outside you can find a ice cream/ Italian ice which is a lovely treat on a hot day!
It's a really nice aquarium, not incredibly large but still plenty to do and it's all very well put together and not just some tanks with fish in it. Super friendly staff and the animals look well cared for.
What a nice little surprise this was! It was chilly and rainy and we STILL had an awesome time. There were giant freaking sharks!!!!! That's all you need to know!!! BUT THERE'S MORE!!! my favorite... PENGUINS!!!!! IN LONG ISLAND....I CAN'T TAKE IT!!!
great for all ages, lots to see, can be crowded with kids from summer camps (who can be rowdy at times)
Had one of the best days there ever. It's so cool to see all the animals there including Penguins and the little monkeys they have there. To see the exhibit and its beautiful surroundings breathtaking I must to bring your kids
Great place to learn about animals and see them up close.
Love this aquarium, they have parking up the block that is free. There is hands on activities, a butterfly exhibit which is great and their seal/sea turtle rescue section.
Great interaction with knowledgeable staff! Excellent exhibits, and my 9 year old had a great time with the aquariums and the butterflies.
Excellent place 100% safe and secure for familys. A++++
Enjoyable. But not honestly worth the admission price..Especially during the winter months. Defiantly a trip worth saving for the summer months.
Wonderful experience. Very clean, friendly and educated enviroment. The staff and volunteership are fabulous. We did the penguin experience with Maggie. She introduced us to Pam and Jim.. two of the resident African penguins.it was a wonderful learning experience and you get to touch penguins and take pictures., a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend it.
The shark tank, Aviary and butterfly room are fantastic. They have otters, snow monkeys, seahorses, etc.. I can spend a whole day here.
I plan to return in the spring for the shark dive.
Huge fan! Bought the year pass... Two trips and it paid for itself. Always a great day trip for kids of all ages (and adults too!) staff is very knowledgeable and kind!
