I love this aquarium and it's a place my boys ask to go to every time we are in NY. Feeding the mantas is a huge hit but so is the bird and butterfly exhibit. We didn't stay for the sea lion show bc it was too hot and directly in the sun. It's really a great way to spend your day teaching your children about the LI waterways and what they can do to save our beaches.

My kids had such a great time. They love animals and really enjoyed learning about the different fish, birds and butterflies. Everyone was responsible and wore masks at all times. Given the circumstances of covid, our new normal, we enjoyed ourselves. We went next door to eat @ Jerry and the Mermaid, the food was excellent!

We were looking for a day out during the winter for babies. As adults we had a lovely time, and our baby was amazed by what he saw.
I was impressed with the displays and theme to the place. We will be back during the summer when more of the outside is open (although we still saw the seal show in the snow!)

My wife and I went there because it's different. It's not just the sea creatures but reptiles, exotic bugs, and my wife's favorite, butterflies. It was fun and the employees are really cool. The only drawback is parking. They don't have their own parking so you have to find the municipal parking lots.

So much fun for the family. Plenty of nearby parking available. Ice cream dipping dots! An arcade for the kids and adults! Sea lion show, shark tank, penguins, butterfly garden, and even monkeys! What's not to like?

So, my kids and I was looking forward to coming here, i drove a little over 2 hours to get here, $127 dollars for two adults and 2 kids, separate parking charges and let me tell you was totally not worth it. Not much to see, crowded, and these poor animals look sick and depressed. Some tanks were dirty even glass was cracked. The food is extremely overpriced. For our first experience at this aquarium was a horrible experience. And not to mention all the Trump support flags on the boats . Definetly not worth it, will not be going again. ( Sept 1,2020)

This aquarium is awesome, as there are a lot of attractions for the family. They also have a lot of really cool replicas of marine life, such as huge whales and sharks etc. There's also the opportunity to rent the aquarium privately for your wedding as well.

This is a lovely place to visit. All of the exhibits and tanks house a diverse amount of fish species and other aquatic animals. From fish, to cephalopods, to crustaceans, to birds, to reptiles, to insects, to mammals. There are alot of different types of animals in here, much more than you'd expect. They have food vendors and an arcade at the aquarium, also they apparently host weddings if that interests you. They offer alot of variety with this place. There's no parking here so you'll have to find a nearby parking lot to park in, tickets are 30$ for adults and I would recommend going here in the spring or even in the fall because they are open at that time and the crowds will be much lighter. Keep all this in mind and you'll definitely have a great time.

Great for kids! One of the most interactive aquariums!

Kids can feed the Ray's, turtles, touch crabs and walk in a simulated marsh. There are sea lion shows, alligator feedings and the butterfly, bugs and bird exhibit is amazing! A great day trip for children and adults alike.

We had a great time visiting the Long Island Aquarium! Unfortunately it was raining so it kept us from some of the outdoor attractions, but even with that there was plenty to see! The sharks were really cool. There were so many things to see! There was even an amazing butterfly and bird exhibit when we went! So many things to see and do there. The only reason I took away a star is that there was some sharp broken glass near the octopus exhibit that was on the edge of the fossil display. It was very easy to see so we kept our kids away from it, but it was obvious that it needed to be at least covered to keep people from getting hurt.

No parking lot but street parking is easy. Small aquarium with a little bit of everything. Good for family and children. My sons throughly enjoyed their visit. Food and drinks are theme-park-priced. Admission is not cheap (see pictures for price) but I imagine the overhead for an aquarium is not cheap either. Also, free wifi.

This is a great winter activity as many of the exhibits are inside. We appreciated that our 2 year old was free, because the rest of our tickets weren't cheap. The butterfly conservancy was an unexpected extra that the kids loved every bit as much as the aquatic exhibits (especially all the bizarre looking bugs!) The two-level shark tank was really cool and allowed us to see the sharks face-to-face as well as from above. We also really enjoyed the sea lion show.

A couple of drawbacks is that there is no adjacent or covered parking and there is no coat check.

It's a nice place to go to if you're local or just want a quick day trip. The aquarium is smaller than you'd think which makes it great for little ones.

The shark tunnel is the highlight for most.

Children enjoy the place and they do conservation work. This is great because getting children interested in the natural world is more important than ever.

However, one of the educators there, while talking about the penguins, referred to sharks as big and scary. Although this may be true it is also likely true that commenting in such a way while attempting to educate impressionable minds is a detriment to future conservation efforts. Perhaps this is just a fluke (pun intended), but perhaps also the educators can take a closer look at their commentary and make sure they are not causing unintentional harm.

Not too big, not too small. We love coming here - my 3 year old, my parents & I come here regularly. The exhibits are wonderful, the sea lion show is great, the birds & butterflies are beautiful, and the staff is very helpful. Our only complaint is that the food is a little pricey, but it's really good. Overall, a great place to spend a day!

Lots of fun with up close exhibits and tanks. The walkways and viewing areas are generally open and large so you are not on top of other visitors. Has exhibits on more than just aquatic animals.

We highly recommend the Cruise boat with Captain Bob and guide Lauren we're outstanding. Lauren captivated the children by having them volunteer with sea creatures on board. We even got to land at an island and dredge for more sea creatures. Well worth the fare.

Fun afternoon with toddlers
Perfect indoor activity for our 2 boys ages 3.5 and 1.5 years old. Kids loved the touch tank with friend sting rays. The layout was spacious, clean and well laid out. The display tanks were thoughtfully designed for viewing. Also enjoyed the shark feeding. We ended the day with the butterfly and bird areas. Our 3 yr old enjoyed feeding the birds. Because we visited during winter we didn't venture to the outdoor areas
