Cute store that helps make shopping locally convenient. The meat, cheese and egg selection is very good. They have the regular meats and even some less seen ones such as frozen wild boar, venison and goat. The herbs and greens are always fresher and better than the supermarkets and they have a good micro green supplier. Great bread and cookies. They are true to the word local

Local Source has lots of good local vegetables, fruit, meats, breads and dairy. They have coffee, chocolate, cookies, plus fancy cheeses and cold cuts. You can fill your growlers with local micro brew there. The store also carries local bees wax, cleaning and grooming products. It's pricey, as you would expect in a small shop that's nicely managed.

Its like the farmer's market is my corner store... with convinience $$$ unfortunately. Central check-out / layout appreciated. Really excellent paper bags! Coffee and beer if you like that sort of thing.

I recently started going to the local source market when I became interested in growlers as a no-waste alternative to buying drinks at the NSLC. I'm glad I made this place my first stop, I had great service interactions and was explained the process in a friendly manner.

The store is full of lovely local products, as well as baked goods and produce. It has a much smaller scale and a more modern vibe than most markets.

I would highly recommend this place to fans of Boxing Rock, beer in general, supporting local, or no-waste lifestyles.

When possible I try to buy as local as I can, and when I can't make it to the farmer's market, Local Source is the next best thing. They carry all sorts of Nova Scotian stuff I didn't even know existed. Definitely worth a trip and to support our local industries.

Glad to see Boxing Rock is available for growler fills in Halifax, but don't take a stainless steel growler. They have a weird kind of counter pressure fill system, and they have to be able to see the beer level to know when the growler is full. Paid $15 for low fill... :-( They will have regular taps once they are licensed to give samples.

Best local/organic supermarket in Halifax. Great products, trendy helpful staff. Only place to sell small boxes of frozen local wild blueberries. You must try them (Bonnymans blueberries)

Awesome variety of local products (only local) all under one roof! close to anything you could want! Absolutley recommend to anyone who wants quality product and wants to support local and save the environment in the process!

Little pricey but great bread, great produce, wish they had more fresh meat but you can always thaw stuff.

The staff are really great and start remembering you and saying hi and chatting. Nice community spot.

I really want to love Local Source. It's a small business supporting local and organic food producers. What's not to like? To be honest, I often go in and don't see much in the way of fresh produce. Lots of healthy and local frozen, packaged, prepared goods. But the shop is missing the vibrancy of a market. It should be full of baskets bursting with tempting, fresh-picked deliciousness. The baskets are there, but they seem to focus on root vegetables, which can often seem a bit soft and tired. It's a low-energy shop, a little disappointing.
