Family members and I took the safety class in the morning and a half day shipwreck tour in the afternoon. Both were excellent. The instructors/guides are personable and knowledgeable. They are patient, effective teachers. They know the Lake, its peoples and history, which make an already beautiful tour that much better.

We paid $110 for a kayak tour and it was not worth it at all. The group we were with was 3 times as large as other groups on the water and we went into only a few caves while just about everyone on the water went into caves that we just paddled right past. they charge the most money for the worst tour. I mentioned this to the owners and they were very arrogant about how they are they are the best in the islands...ignorance is bliss!

Great day today with Grant, Gail, Kippy, and the rest of the staff. We loved the trip, and they went out of their way to book a trip for us at the last second. Yummy cookies. Our kids want to go kayaking again!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY, IT IS A RIP OFF! We signed up for a 7-hour sea cave tour we did not even make it to the caves as we turned around because the waves got too big. Other Outfitters were giving their customers full refunds and we did not even get a partial refund. We paid over $100 to see the caves, didn't see any of them and were not giving any kind of compensation.

A bit pricey but well worth it for the guides and information the gave. We used 2 person sea kayaks and that was hard to get used to since we are used to singles but we figured it out. The lunch from a local shop (I don't recall the name) was good and we ate on a rocky beach after going thru the sea caves. Plan on stiff muscles after this trip.

We had an awesome experience with these folks. Our group was fun as well. The guides, Nichole and Sam were awesome. We had the perfect weather day to go through a few caves and enjoy some time on the water. We had a dietary need and they followed it to a T even down to the snack. We would definitely go through them again if we decide to repeat our trip in the future.

My wife and I went on a three day trip with this outfitter and had an excellent time. Our guide was excellent, attentive, knowledgeable and a great cook. The equipment was great. And of course the island and Lake Superior were phenomenal.

Our family went on the day trip with Shawn and Morgan as our guides. We had a great time threading through tiny caves with the help of Morgan. The beach lunch was very fresh and tasty. They even had local baked cookies for us once we got back to the launch site. I would highly recommended this tour company.

My wife and I did the full day sea cave tour last week and it was incredible! Our guides were all super friendly and knowledgeable (Elisabeth, Jessica and Mitchel). The lunch is also delicious. I highly recommend going through Living Adventure to tour the caves if you are in the Bayfield area!

Having worked as a volunteer on the islands for 15 years, I have met a lot of outfitters and Living adventure is who I call when I need a guide or inter-island trip. Paddling between islands in Lake Superior can be treacherous and you want someone along who has rescue training and who will not lead you into dangerous situations in the first place. I trust them above other guide and rental services.

My wife and I had little to no experience with sea kayaking. But we were courageous and willing to try the 3night/4day trip into the apostles with Living Adventure. The experience was trying, and exhausting. But Living Adventure made all the difference with our enjoyment of the pristine environment of the islands. Their seasoned guide was patient with us and encouraged us all along our journey. He was on top of every detail, from our safety to our excellent meals. He knew the islands as well as his own back yard. Our overall experience was an incredible one that we will never forget and Living Adventure played a major roll in making it that way.

This was our first trip kayaking and we had a great time. Our guides Elaina and Nicole were very skilled and provided excellent information on the trip and about the region. We look so forward to going back again. We will recommend them to our friends and family. It was well worth the cost, the wraps were great, and the cookies were awesome. Patrick

If you want to drive around in a 10 passenger van then this is your trip.. We did the all day sea cave tour and spent 2 hours and 12 minutes actually in a kayak. We never saw the sea caves.while other tour companies brought out their customers. Living adventure decided the conditions were not favorable and we went to some back water area and the guide took us out to see two different plants. After 48 minutes (9 minutes of this time was spent eating a snack bar while sitting in our kayak). Then we loaded up and drove around, had an hour and 12 minute lunch followed up with more driving until they decided they would take us back to the main office. Once at the office we put our kayaks back into the water to go look for a ship wreck which we never did see. After that we went and saw a rock wall before heading back to their main office to end our day eating one of their famous sweet chocolate chip cookies. They were good tasting cookies. Super boring day and not even close to what you pay for. Our tour guide was not a customer service orientated person, we and the others on our trip were predicting who she was going to yell at next. She did not discriminate and she was successful at yelling at everyone with us for the day. There office and equipment was very clean and well taken care of. Not a great day, find another tour operator to go with.

Not at all worth the money when there is an outfitter down the road (Lost Creek Adventures) that has more fun on their tours and charges $50, for the same tour Living Adventure charges $110. Not really sure why our tour cost more, when we went into fewer caves and had more people in our group. Don't get me wrong, the sea caves are amazing but this Living Adventure makes it feel like your on one of those cruise ship tours whereas other operators were seriously getting intimate with the sea caves.

Wonderful Lake Superior/Apostle Islands experience in every way. We just returned from a 3-day kayak/camping trip and are already talking about when we're going back. Ketzel and Jemiah were truly excellent guides. Their instruction was perfect; they're knowledgeable, extremely personable, and amazingly expert in all things regarding the Apostle Islands and Lake Superior. Ask Ketzel about clouds. You won't be sorry. I'd do this again and again. One tip: get a full-body bug suit, not just a head net. Other that that, you're golden.

Best outfitter in Bayfield! I took a four day overnight trip and really got to see the islands and check out from daily life. The guides are fabulous and cook great food on the trip. Plan to really get outside and enjoy a few days away.

We had an incredible time going to Living Adventure!! Even though it rained most of the trip, our guides managed to help us have a great experience. They were super knowledgeable and well trained so we never felt like we were in danger despite being on an open lake during heavy rainfall. One of the guides also lead us to smaller caves and archways along the way. And we learned a lot about the history of the area, and about brownstone and geology. Super cool. It s definitely a workout! You ll love the cookie at the end. And it s definitely worth it.

Great 1/2 day trip. Tour guides were fun, funny and had great information about the lake and surrounding wildlife. The kayaks are nice, and they walk you through everything- great for beginners too. Highly recommend.

We signed up for a Meyers Beach sea cave kayak tour and we're forced to go paddling in a swamp for the same price as we had paid for a full cave kayak tour. very disappointing. We were not given the option of a refund we were not even given the option of a rebooking we were forced to go to barkface too and it was extremely disappointing I can't believe we were forced to go on a trip that had no sea caves when we paid over $100 per person to go to the Myers Beach sea caves.

Never again. I understood that it was too windy to go to the sea cave, bummer. But we spent about 2 hrs driving around, and "learning" how to kayak. We didnt even get in the water till about 10. We kayaked in a calm area and they showed us some plants. Was not worth the money at all

We did the shorter kayaking trip available where we saw a ship wreckage and the caves along the edge of the water. We were beginners, so before we started they showed us how to paddle correctly, what to do if you flip over, how to get our great on, and general safety. When paddling by, we were so close to the wreckage that we went directly over it! They explained the history of the wreckage as we rowed. We even stopped for a cookie and water break midway to rest up for the ride back. We had two guides and both were extremely knowledgeable and courteous.

Worth every penny! With safety being their first priority, the guides ensured the group knew how to manage their kayaks and gear before even touching the water. Mary Beth and Shawn were excellent guides, navigating us along the shoreline to view sea cave formations, red cliffs, and even a shipwreck! Very informative, pleasant, personable, and fun, the whole group was great.

We did the Beaches, Waves, and Caves and it was great! The guides, Ketzel and Keiran, were fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and energetic but got down to business when needed. It was a fantastic learning experience with beautiful views to boot. Definitely recommend going with Living Adventure.

Took the 3-day island tour (Beaches, Waves and Caves) -- just one big problem: We started from a boat launch away from the outfitters main office, so the kayaks were brought by trailer. This did not allow any opportunity for making sure the kayaks were a good fit for the participants, Our guide, who was great, struggled for the entire trip, moving the participants from kayak to kayak, trying to get people into kayaks that fit. This problem, which had me in a poorly-fitting, very uncomfortable kayak for part of he trip could have been easily avoided if they took the time to fit the participants to the kayaks used for the trip. Do not use this outfitter unless you make sure you can try the kayak BEFORE the trip starts.

Great trip!! This was our first Kayaking trip, and our guides Jose, and Morgan were awesome! They did a great job on instructing us about safety, and paddling technique through the whole trip! The food was excellent, and their knowledge about the history behind the area, and the wildlife was enjoyable. My only regret is that I did not do a 5 day trip, instead of a 3 day, but that gives me a reason to go back soon! I would definitely recommend Living Adventure Inc. to anyone interested in Kayaking!

Lots of wasted time in the morning. Signed up for 9:30 trip and we left facility at 10:45. "Lunch" was served at 3:30. Good time overall, guides were fun, but operation could be tightened up a bit.

We really enjoyed our full day Sea-Caves adventure! We really had excellent water conditions, and were able to go into all of the caves, and even through some of the tighter fitting areas (for the challenge by choices spots). The guides were both really knowledgeable, answered all my 'silly' questions, and had a lot of information to share about the area including history and fun stories. We were given a good amount of training too. The lunch and snacks were great as well. We were made aware of the risks of booking (no refunds, kayak in a smaller lake), but were glad we were able to get out on the lake.

The trip was really fun. Our tour guides Elizabeth and Ketzel were really good and helpful. They tell you small small tricks to maneuver in water before the trip. The equipment were well maintained. Regarding the guides, They were really knowledgeable and fun to interact during kayaking. They led us to the sea caves to have close up views. The lunch on the beach was also delicious. I would highly recommend Living Adventure. Cheers to Elizabeth and Ketzel
