The sport of rowing can mean so many different things for people - exercise, competition, being outdoors, on the lake, quiet zen moments, comraderie. At Litchfield Hills Rowing Club you get all of this and more. You don't need prior rowing experience to learn and you certainly don t have to be the best athlete. Give your best effort, come open to learn and become part of a great community of like-minded people.

This club supports both youth and adults who have a great love for the sport and LHRC.
I ve been with this club since 2014 and have seen it grow stronger and better each year. Our Director, coaches, board and members have tremendous vision and ambitions for continued future growth. Our coaches work hard with each rower no matter your age or level they want you to succeed and have fun at the same time. AND you can learn to row at any age we welcome ages 12-Older! Some adults don t learn until 50s, 60s or 70s. But once hooked, you never look back except when rowing.

I could not speak enough on what the sport of rowing and the Litchfield Hills Rowing Club has meant to me over the last 10+ years. The friendships, teamwork, fitness, nature, beauty, competition, etc. Folks, trust me when I say it is a privilege to have a great rowing club and boathouse right on beautiful Bantam Lake. We owe many thanks to those before us who had the foresight make it happen.

The club offers programs for all ages, any gender, experience and ability levels. Coach Drew is an expert at finding the best and safest experience for each of his rowers. Located on the northern edge of Bantam Lake (shared with Litchfield Town Beach), the LHRC boathouse is a scenic spot for even just a visit to learn what all the fuss is about. I encourage anyone to observe a practice and then talk to Coach Drew about the best fit for you.

The LHRC boat house is tucked away underneath a canopy of trees, just off the northern tip of Bantam Lake and near the Litchfield Town Beach. This club is open to all who wish to join, any age, gender, ability no prior rowing experience is required. I met this group in June of 2015 and have since enjoyed many peaceful moments on the water. Sure, it s hard work at times, but so worth the effort.

Litchfield Hills Rowing Club offers many programs from beginners to experts. There are early morning and afternoon options as well as an indoor training facility nearby. I highly recommend rowing for fitness and encourage people of all pages to check out the club. One of the key draws for me to rowing at this club is the people!

A great program that encourages rowing at every age. We're new to the area, and LHRC embraced us and our daughter immediately. Drew and his team are great coaches, and the other rowers are very supportive of new rowers. Drew has a long-term plan for the club, and plans to keep growing it. Great job!
