I love that I can help out my community, the people who have hard time speaking English. It is good enough for me that I get to help them and this company makes it even better by paying me on top of it!!! You guys are doing great work, Linguistica.

Worst customer service there interpreters are the worst there, supervisors account manager's are never available would not recommend to hire them for any company... Highly recommend to go else where!

Inconsistent treatment of staff.

During an interpreting session where a client was speaking in a car during traffic, Linguistica blamed the background noise on my end, even though I had zero noise in my house during the session. The client asked repeated questions, and deviated repeatedly from the company first-person perspective I had clearly instructed from the beginning, and henceforth on. Once again, Linguistica had wrongfully blamed the clients' deviation on its interpreter, without further investigation into the root cause of the issue. The person in charge of the interpreters at Linguistica did not speak Mandarin, and seemed to not have any idea whatsoever of what was being said during the session. Their instructions seems to be blatantly contradictory, for example, being told to take one's time in explaining the initial instructions, ask the client to clarify, yet the very next session, I was being told I was taking "too much time," when all I did was follow the instruction exactly, and clarifying important details before proceeding, which took seconds. I had one of the senior Mandarin interpreters giving me the feedback that the level of fluency in which I speak Mandarin is excellent, and rare, which I took as a positive feedback, only to have his instructions following his feedback completely contradicted by the director of interpreters, who did not speak Mandarin at all. Their reporting was dishonest, and put the interpret at an unfair fault for things blatantly outside of their control, such as clients who simply cannot hear the interpreter due to external noise in their own car. As a native speaker, and years of experience interpreting and translating, this was insulting to my dedication and passion for the profession, so I put in my conditional resignation.

I've worked for linguistica for 1 year and 3 month...

I've worked for linguistica for 1 year and 3 months exactly and all i was getting pay was $10 and hour. When i was hired i was told that every 6 months they give you a raise (lie!!). This company really doesnt value the hard work that the interpreters do. All they care about is them getting pay for the services that the interpreters provide to their rude clients. A couple of weeks a go i got fired from this job and the excuse they gave was that i was always late! I used to take uber in order for me to go work. I cant tell the driver to drive fast when they are 45 to 50 minutes away from were i live. That was out of my hands. They new my situation and they didnt care my supervisor never gave me the 2 warnings for me to sign until a day after i got fired. The worst part was when the "boss" called me in the office and he said i was fired and they gave me the lame excuse that i was late when i know why exactly why they fired me. A few weeks backs i had ask the boss to give me a raise and all he said was ( i prefer giving you lunch instead)really???.. Thats all i was worth?? when i was at the office i asked him a question for the excuse he was giving me for being fired and he never answer me all he was doing was looking at his phone didnt even bother looking at me and didnt even respect that i was there trying for him to answer my question he was rude!. All he did was look at the supervisor for her to answer my question that i had asked him. They are a joke!! Interpreters deserve to get pay $18 an hour not $10. And if you dont remind them of giving you a raise they will never give you one or you will just end up fired like me! Im a good interpreter and it makes me sad that i gave them a year and three months for nothing honestly. All they do is take advantage of you. Learn to appreciate the people who work for you! The people who are making you rich with their hard work while you pay them only $10 an hour.

Used to work for them, they still owe me for hours...

Used to work for them, they still owe me for hours I worked. I called several times left messages but person in charge never called back regarding this issue. They don t have a good reputation, I have also heard from other interpreters this happened to them, so I stopped taking jobs for them. Not an honest agency.
