The Lindian Village is certainly a good recommendation for Rhodes, but compared to other top hotels it certainly falls short in the details. The greatest strength of the hotel is the honest friendliness of the staff, who work very hard there, as well as the pleasant atmosphere of a flourishing Greek village on a small river with a waterfall. Several themed restaurants, a spa and a very spacious pool area with a clean private beach complete the offer. The quality of the dinner was average to good. At breakfast I occasionally missed variety and a choice of drinks. Waffle and omelette preparation was very good! We booked a suite with a jacuzzi for the time of the accommodation. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable, the rooms were nicely furnished!
The Lindian Village is currently being expanded with new houses in two places, which is happening under considerable high pressure, so that the work continues from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. without a break (circular saw and jackhammer). Unfortunately, our tour operator hadn't informed us about it.
Since I have a good eye for many trades, the new suites have been renovated very sloppily at second glance. Just a few examples: The tile laid throughout the bathroom is actually a wall tile with a low coefficient of friction, which means that the surface covering is already clearly detached. The transparent silicone and grout stuck to the tiles in the bathroom in many places and several silicone joints were smeared very thickly. The fittings in the bathroom as well as the curtain in the living room were fastened with dowels that were too small so that the brackets wobbled and were already half hanging out. The white wall paint as well as the wood varnish for the terrace superstructure was sprayed everywhere when repainting on the beautiful terrace stones and polygonal slabs in the outside area, because nobody had put anything under it. The many stains are difficult or sometimes never to be removed! Nobody has heard of masking tape, as the roll was passed over the facing bricks, door frames and windows an inch thick. The frames of the room doors are crooked and unprofessional and partly splintered, as a lot of pressure builds up under the creaking of the hinges when the door is closed. Under the vanity you can still see the old tiles in many places because you no longer wanted to cut the new panels in the corners, which was time-consuming.
Nobody has heard of expansion joints and primer, so cracks are inevitable. Whoever finally accepted this work did not have much idea themselves.
At 55 x 60, the shower is clearly undersized for a grown man.
All-round craftsmen were used who can and understand something of everything, but are not specialized professionals!
The fitness room is housed in the loveless but large basement with no daylight, the equipment is still ok, but certainly not new anymore. 2 treadmills and 2 cross trainers with two additional stations were available. Unfortunately, there was no exercise bike or ergometer for cardio or optionally a rowing machine.
Overall, I would like to recommend this beautiful system with a few weaknesses (and then even without the construction site 1 star deduction), but you are still a long way away from a very good one!
