How can you not give a 5 star for a free zoo with this much stuff to do? I was very impressed.

Lovely zoo, very compact and walkable. Enclosures are state of the art - great place for a family outing.
Not bad... But be ready to drive looking for parking.. If you don't want to pay...
ZooLights is a tad over-hyped, excellent Zoo otherwise.
A wonderful place to bring family, or even relax. Lincoln Park Zoo is FREE and even has events that people can go to. If you are a teen or college student look into their interning programs
The animals are treated well and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. My kids had a great time. What more can you ask for?
Incredible zoo....and you can't beat free. One of our favorite places. Check out when the birds get fed.
I love this place, in summer, in winter :)
It is a free beautiful place in Chicago
Great zoo and free to go in! Much larger than we thought it would be and we'll definitely be back to visit!
Please, donate to help Lincoln Park Zoo! They are open all year long, it is a great place to take children and adults, and it is free. It amazes me every single time I go there!
I have lived and paid taxes in Chicago for many years. Today I decided to visit the zoo which is supposed to be free admission. My family came and the zoo itself says you have to make reservation for weeks in advance, no mention on the website. There is nothing available for weeks ahead. It s a disgrace. What am I paying money for? The attendant told me with a smirk on his face that this is the longest reservation list ever. Shame Chicago, selling my property ASAP. No more my taxes
Nothing beats free! The Zoo lights that they do every year is a favorite holiday activity. Great staff and beautiful grounds!
I have been going to this zoo ever since I was small and I love it! It is amazing how it is free and I love how they have a variety of animals.
Fun place to take a toddler, the Zoo has a great layout that allows you meander through with a animals and exhibits around each turn
Zoo-lights were a fantastic experience, perfect for the Christmas season!
First went here 65 years ago. Excellent, and it's free!
I went on a cold Sunday but all the animals were pretty active and I got a lot of great pictures
i like how the park is free to enter but hate how tiny the cages tanks and enclosures are for the animals!!! please think about upgrading the housing for these amazing animals
It's free to get in but parking costs $40 when we visited.
We loved this sweet zoo! Coming from Detroit where we also have a wonderful (albeit expensive zoo), we were amazed that admission is free. Clean, spacious, very good examples of ecology and animal-health mindedness.
Awesome free zoo! Can see animals close up and learn about them through educational interactions.
Awesome place to explore in Chicago, be sure to get lunch @ Johnny's Beef and Gyros around the corner!
Spent a bit of time with the Snow Leopard. He was out near a Pine tree, rolling on his back, enjoying the first days of spring!
It's ok u can pet snakes today I petted a ball python but during certain parts of the year there isn't that many animals out
Idk but..., there s definitely something going on I would always visit this place with my family the animals looked so happy back then, now they re all sad , some don t even move they just stay still in one corner they look very depressed and traumatized , these animals want to be free not be caged up , it s so sad to even come here I will not be coming back.
This is a must-see when visiting Chicago. We loved it. Being completely free dud not mean it skimped on animals. We parked and walked across to get to the North Beach. It was awesome!! The kids loved it. It was crowded but typical of popular beaches. Fun to people watch and walk along.
Great place to walk around, people watch and see some interesting animals.
I visited in June 2018 from Australia. What a fantastic place. We loved it. It's a credit to the staff. I would definately visit again if given the opportunity..
One of the best zoos in the region I should say. The extra bonus part is that the zoo itself is free and comes with a gorgeous park. Usually local people came their for a walk or to walk their dogs as I had seen so far. The zoo itself has lots of animals from different parts of the globe and they are mostly in good shape and mood.
Lots of animals. Although some of them would require more space.
What a fun mix of zoo stuff and holiday stuff. And it's free!
Love it but everytime il go it seems like the monkeys are sad an lonely an the bears , but the place its just nice to visit whit kids
It is free to the public. There is more space for the human viewers than the animals in captivity . A nice selection of animals and lots of extra side things.
Great zoo with a nice atmosphere, which is totally free! Parking is relatively expensive, therefore I usually go here by public transportation.
Amazing place to visit. Much of it is outdoors but even if it rains a little, there are overhangs, shelters and indoor activities for reprieve if required. If you choose to stay outdoors, bring your dog. Best of all, it is all free!
Awesome & free! What a amazing place, I loved every moment. Great place to take the kids and family! Will return!
Not a big fan of zoos but I do recommend to those nearby
ENJOYED IT THOROUGHLY!!! HAD A BEAUTIFUL DAY...STAFF & PARK ATTENDANTS WERE FRIENDLY & HELPFUL!!!
Typical Zoo, the zoo lights were nice! I always have a love/hate relationship with zoos because I feel like it's a disservice to the animals. BUT is free, and I love that aspect for it to be available for all
Definitely need to do something about their exhibits.. hardly no animals and no big cats... and parking fee is ridiculous
I love Lincoln Park Zoo...for it to be free it has a lot to offer
Great exhibits, especially at Christmas when they do their Zoo Lights display! Great for the whole family!
The ZooLights made for a perfect evening walk with the family!
Lincoln Park zoo is beautiful place to visit. After entering the zoo Micky mouse and Micky Donald boys are standing there to entertain small children.Secondly dance performance show for the music lover is there. One can watch girls & boys dancing in different costume. For small kids water animals are there kept in glass They made the swing for small kids. All animals are in zoo.Especially lion roaming outside their cave.Giraff , hippopotamus, rhino all increase the beauty of the zoo.African monkeys full family is there .They created bamboo tree ,swing.one can enjoy their beauty.
Saw many different kinds of birds and monkeys I haven't seen before. It's very good and for free all year round!
Its was Ok when I went this june 2019. But the lions were not there and a few other animals where MIA. I guess the lions wont be back till 2021. But other than that it was ok. But it is a free zoo. So that is understandable.
The zoo is so good, I couldn't believe that it was free to get in. They had great exhibits for the animals and lots of varieties. During the holiday season they have lights in the park and zoo and I'm telling you, it was so magical. My husband loved it, he said that visiting chicago and seeing all the other sights, this was his favorite place of our trip! thank you so much lincoln park!
Great zoo! The kids had a ton of fun and didn't want to leave!
can t beat free... unless the polar bears look homeless
Free to get in. Beautiful zoo. Lots of animals and clean. One of the best place to visit with the kids while in Chicago.
Zoo lights are free! Rides cost tickets and tickets cost money. We Ubered and got dropped off right at the front, super easy. So many gorillas!! Clean, would love to go back in spring.
Went around Thanksgiving and the zoo had beautiful holiday lights at night. Admission was even free! Awesome experience.
Lincoln Park Zoo is a fantastic zoo that seems to do as well as any as far as animal care. Can't beat free in a nice neighborhood, and the holiday zoo lights were great!
Nice place when it s warm. They have variety of animals but it s hard to walk in one day if you re with kids!
Great zoo free of charge. I wish the exhibits were more up to date but I understand the financial issues.
A great time as always. The animals were out, although a little lethargic looking. However, because the day was beautiful, all was good with the world!
They treat their animals well. Very clean. Places for animals to get away and rest. Very active in conservation efforts!
Very nice zoo I have fun with my family and friends
Zoolights is usually a 5 star experience I look forward to every year with my kids. This year it was a half way job. I walked it in 17 minutes. Try again next year lpz
Barely any animals they use to have a lot of stuff now it just feels like a walk on a park with a few animals outside.
Parking is awful and drinks are outrageous! I paid 4.50 for a cup of ice!! That being said...animals are beautiful and the zoo is well kept!!!
Great place to take the family to see the animals and views of the city.
The Zoo was great. I didn't get to see everything but what I did see was amazing. Love this Zoo. if you go don't forget to donate, it helps the animals being cared for.
Only for lighting and relaxing.
But if you are going to see animals, then this is not a place for you
Top Place in the City to Visit! The views are amazing. And it's FREE! The animals are awesome. Definitely find the Birds of Prey House and enjoy the free flying birds. Also the Penguins and Seals are a must see. Don't plan to eat here though as the food prices are astronomical and unfortunately you have to walk a good 3 blocks for anything else. RJ Grunts is a good option but can be very crowded and they put MSG in their meat now.
Fun place to go in Chicago without paying a fortune. Can see a good view of the city from here too!
It was nice the light are pretty there wasn't too many animals out but that was to be expected.
Good zoo...but not very many animals to be seen outside!!
Cute free zoo. Lots of history here, you can see in the old buildings how zoo's were back in the day.
I actually did not go to Lincoln Park Zoo. it is quarantine, it was closed.
It was a good walk. Got to see the animal that were available.
We had a great time today at Lincoln Park Zoo. I enjoyed spending it with my niece and also with Kaylee.
