Always overly crowded and not because of their low prices

Not the best, hashbrowns were not cooked, just not the best i have had

Pretty neat place with a lot of food, as well as some niche food items that are hard to find elsewhere.

Good grocery store. Employees are trained to help customers! Broad selection. Health market has food for restricted diets. Organic section in large produce department that also stocks locally sourced fresh produce. Pharmacy. Large wine, beer and liquor selection.

ALWAYS find quality food selection, produce, and so many helpful employees. I LOVE that they hire people with disabilities. Even though I think the people in Ames need to treat said disabled employees more kindly. Not too impressed with a community that boasts progressivism and inclusivity. However, you can tell Hy-Vee cares about the community. They may be a little bit more pricey on a few items but the wide variety and quality is worth paying a few extra bucks at checkout. And who doesn't love a BAR in a grocery store? Hello? Cocktails and shopping carts? Just took mundane chores to a whole new level!

Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a college town grocery store, but cleaner and with a friendlier staff.

HyVee sets the bar high on what a grocery store should be and they deliver.

Constantly moving product from one location to another. Constant battle to find blueberries that are not loaded with mold.

AWESOME panini sandwich and the treat was it was the daily special. Just $5 and we could split it for dinner.

Hy-Vee grocery store at 640 Lincoln Way in Ames, Iowa is a huge supermarket for ALL of my grocery needs! They have recently renovated the ENTIRE STORE! It s EVEN BETTER NOW! It has a great eat-in, rustic-chic restaurant style seating area and bar, complete with a ginormous Flat-screen TV to watch the game on! The in-store pharmacy, postal service, dry-cleaning service, and floral department are amazing! The beautiful produce, meat counter, freshly made Nori Sushi bar, Chinese Xpress kitchen, fabulous deli, and Smells OH SO GOOD bakery are all so wonderful & welcoming and everyone is friendly and helpful! As the ol jingle goes, Where there s a HELPFUL SMILE , in EVERY AISLE!

Hy-Vee is a nice grocery store with a pharmacy. They have bacon, which is one of the main things one looks for when shopping. They also have Circus Peanuts.

Hy-Veehas a habit of charging too much for what they have and they do that because they want to gouge the students one time a produce manager in hy-vee told me that fairway sold questionable produce and that was why they were cheaper. NOT TRUE

As far as the grocery part of the store it s fine but I still return cans and bottles (most people don t anymore) and this part of the store is not very good. Down for maintenance or not working or gross in there. Keep in mind people HyVee takes your 5 cents for every can and bottle and most people don t return them...they make money off of you not returning. They don t want it to be a pleasant experience returning!!!

Ran in, had what I wanted. Everyone wore masks, quick checkout.

Hy vee is my go to grocery store, mostly because it is convenient. I find everything I need at one location, and I get to grind my own peanut butter. The produce section is okay, there is a lot of room for improvement in this area with regards to freshness, quality and pricing.

You can find pretty much everything except for garments .

Extensive selection of groceries. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices are a bit high. Great wine selection.

Great selection and always helpful and friendly. Their dining area is a nice addition and the food variety is great. Maybe slightly more expensive than Walmart, but so worth it!

I decided to purchase groceries online for the first time. Very easy pick-up method at the store. When I got home I received a call that they forgot my cat food. Kyle insisted they'd deliver it for free same night. Props to Kyle for going the extra mile even though I would be able to pick up my cat food in the morning!

I always liked Hy-Vee, good friends of mine work there!!

There woman's bathroom was dirty toilet paper sitting on top of dispenser and paper towels on the counter for you to rip one off floor dirty

I love the variety here. I can get the organic items I want and still get regular items too (that I don t want to spend as much on). There are a few oddly priced things here (off-brand Half and Half for $5.99??!! I hope that came from a golden cow...), but I still prefer shopping here over other places. ALSO, thanks for making masks a CHOICE. Smart, apolitical move I appreciate. Associates are always great here too. Thx!

Update: wow! New selection in organic breads is awesome! Also, one of your young men went the extra mile and held my broken trunk for me so I could load groceries tonight. A+++

We ordered buns for graduation and the employees at HyVee were a great help. They helped to figure out how many I needed and were very knowledgeable on cost and ingredients. It made the whole process quick and easy!

It had all the things I needed. Organized in an easy to find manner.

It's a Hyvee. Have you been to one? This is one. I can't speak to the helpful smile in every isle but the Chinese food is always good for a Sunday afternoon pick up, the alcohol selection is reasonable, and they have more interesting items in their organic and health section than probably any other store. Only 4 stars because the regular grocery prices are higher than other places.

Had to bring back a skewer of cooked shrimp that were definitely no good.

The staff always seem to know where every item is. Impressive.

Had Hy-Vee Chinese for lunch. It was good as always. Only issue is they have not been doing a very good job at labeling the variety of options- pepper chicken label is at the opposite end from the actual pan of pepper chicken... Get the labels correct.

Excellent selection of grocery products and related items. Very helpful staff. Prices are very competitive. The meat section has a large variety of items for main dishes and accompanying foods. They usually have different meal menus and the recipes for preparation if you are wondering what to fix for dinner. I've tried several and the are tasty and usual quick and easy to prepare.
Checkout is usually quick with very shortly wait lines. They accept all manufacturer coupons plus have in store specials that save money on gas at their stations.

Nothing wrong with this store like the motto states helpful smile in every isle

$20 for breakfast for two, coffee in a to go cup and runny eggs?

Overpriced, understocked, and non-existent help. But they do have a Starbucks.
Also I understand that they are getting rid of the Hy-Vee Grills. Instead, they will have Wahlburgers. The only people that make a worse burger than Hy-Vee. Beware.

Always love this grocery store. Clean. Fruits and veggies always fresh. Good selection of deli meats. Only store I have found that carries my specific gum for grandchildren. Thank you, thank you!!

A great store easy to find what you need,low prices

Run of the mill Hy-Vee which is better than most grocery stores. Had lunch here, salad bar and hot meals.
