Service was excellent! My husband and I are on our honeymoon and we got the couples massage. The atmosphere is very relaxing and we are feeling much better. I would definitely recommend coming here if you re in need of some R & R!

Wonderful staff at all levels, from check-in, tech assistance, hospitality during stay and check-out. Hotel on Main Street with immediate proximity to shopping & restaurants. Wonderful suite stay with separate living room area, microwave and fridge. Clean suite and restful bedding.

We normally stay here when we're vacationing on Mackinac Island. It's located smack dab in the middle of everything!!! People watching on the balcony is a great way to relax at the end of the day. The elevator stopped working more than once during our last stay... And we're on the top floor! That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Great location, right in the heart of Mackinaw Islands tourist district. Close proximity to everything and a great place to enjoy the island when the big crowds go back to shore. I highly recommend it.

Great location on the island, staff was very friendly and went above and beyond compared to other locations we have stayed near Mackinaw. Difference between the island and the city is that the island is always working on improvement and upkeep! My kids won't forget the "turn down service" Oreos and Milk!

Stayed in a balcony room the last two times we came to the island. Great location. The rooms are decorated nicely, and always clean. Sitting on the balcony in the morning sipping coffee and at night with an adult beverage is the best.

The accommodations and staff are great. The room, location and service were awesome. The internet is a disaster. So if you don't need to check email, it is great. The internet is not throttled and/ or does not have QOS turned on, so the person using netflix makes it so no one else has internet.

This hotel was absolutely perfect! I don't think the pictures do it justice because I thought we were going to get a room that looked like my grandma decorated it in the 50s, but this was a really charming, beautiful, and quite elegant place. The room was comfortable and in the morning our 6 year old could go watch cartoons in a separate space that allowed us to sleep in a little bit longer. The whirlpool tub is huge and I even made use of it one morning. And I tried out their prenatal massage and wasn't disappointed. I missed seeing any note of this extra surprise - but each night some lovely ladies come by and give you milk and cookies! Come on! Perfect. I suppose everything isn't perfect...the only complaint we had was the sound of the air conditioner. I saw it mentioned in another review and I thought they were talking about window ACs being loud, but this is the whole building's central AC - and it is loud. Like a jet plane. But everything else is magical you kind of just shrug it off.

We ve been staying at the Lilac Tree for eight years now. This place is incredible!!! Situated downtown for great people watching and access to shopping and dining. Love everything except the lady at the front desk. She is difficult to work with and has messed up our reservation many years. It won t stop me from going back though!!!

** READ BEFORE BOOKING*** I booked this hotel after reading reviews on Fodders, Google and Trip Adviser and I thought that with an overall rating of 4 stars that this hotel would be a good fit for my family. That was definitely NOT the case. I don't typically write online reviews but felt I needed too for this hotel.

We arrived to our room on 8/30 to be greeted by an overwhelming smell of deodorizer that had been used in our suite. After letting our room air out the smell did get a bit better. The room had just been cleaned and yet it still appeared dingy and dirty. The cabinet by the sink was missing paint and the bottom kick board was knocked loose and just sitting up against the cabinet. The carpet was stained, the wicker chairs in the suite were worn out and the huge over sized jacuzzi tub offered a discolored gold faucet. The lobby to the hotel is small and the baggage room barely held all the luggage for my party of 5. The elevator is located on the outside of the lobby entrance so you access it from the corridor that is lined with gift shops which means anybody shopping those stores have access to the elevator that leads to the hotel rooms. Had I known this prior to my arrival, I would have definitely PASSED on booking this hotel for safety reasons. There is a safety latch on the door once your inside of the rooms but without a safe in the room, that really didn't help us once we left to go sight seeing. We needed additional towels because they only provided us 4 so we called the front desk to get more. When they didn't show up with them, my husband ended up trying to locate somebody from the hotel to get them for us. He ended up on the third floor to try an locate somebody to get us the towel only to find the linen room open for us to take whatever we needed. He did notice that sitting right on top of the counter appeared to be an access key card that the staff must use when cleaning the rooms. He was not happy that the linen room was left unlocked and that anybody could have had access to everything in that room including whatever doors that key card opened. Not Cool AT ALL!! In the evening, the staff does bring you cookies and milk around 7:30 pm in the evening. They do knock on your door and if you don't answer, they come into your room with their access key. They bring you packages of Oreo cookies and they pour you a glass of milk which they walk around with from room to room carrying. You would think they would at least give you a single serve small milk container to go with your cookies but they are pouring milk into glasses and leaving them in your room while you are out. It was difficult to sleep for all of us because the noise from the floor above us was non stop. We could hear anybody accessing their room, walking, and the kids who were running at all hours of the day and night. The air conditioning in the room was difficult to control and it was either ice cold in our room or very hot. I did speak to the young lady at the front desk about my issues and she did apologize for the inconveniences.

If this had not been labor day weekend I would have packed my family up and went to another hotel. We paid $280 for the first night( which seemed fair) but then caught labor day weekend where the cost jumped to $370 a night. I have stayed in some fantastic rooms for $370 a night and this place isn't one of them.

The customer service was excellent, and the rooms are very nice. We stayed in a single bed with pullout couch, the bath area divided the two areas and both had TV's. Microwave, Keurig style coffee maker, and fridge in the room. Good closet and drawer space for extended stays. Location is central to the shops. Well worth the cost!

My husband & I stayed in room 408 (top floor, master spa suite). The extended balcony provided a gorgeous view! Spacious, clean, beautiful suite. We loved the milk & cookies at turn down! We had an issue with the light in our bathroom and it was fixed within 5-10 min. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit Mackinac Island.

Lilac tree & spa on mackinac island , get one of the suites, great location, lacks a lobby bathroom, when you are checking out & it's your last chance until you get to the starline ferry, this does make a difference. Its sister hotel "the chippewa" down the road is nice, has the pink pony restaurant which has very good food but lacks the spa

The accommodations were terrific for our New Year's stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The communication from the staff about what was happening over the four days was fantastic. The hot dogs and brats during lunch, s'mores in the evening and hot chocolate was a great touch. We are already planning to come back for the next New Year celebration.

Lovely view and spacious rooms. We had a 4th floor balcony room with double queen beds. Internet/wifi is pretty bad and TV is only available in standard definition. Overall, it's a pleasant place to stay.

My family and I have stayed at The Lilac Tree many times It is clean, affordable, nice size rooms, and right on Main St. And it has a elevator, wide doors, And I am in a electric wheelchair and I can get around fine in the entire suite and hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly. I called the desk at 3 am due to pain sick. The man found a fan and brought it up to my room. Now how nice is that?? I did not want the air cond on and freeze the family. lol Just a fan due to hot from pain. I will always go here, or change my dates. Great Job~! The Potter Family
