Worst service and treatment in my life. My sister ...

Worst service and treatment in my life. My sister had pork chops, took one bite and said to the waiter that is was dry and too well done. He said he would exchange it for something else. So my sister ordered soup, time went on and no soup. He had taken my sisters plate away in the mean time. He said she would have to pay for the whole meal. We asked to see the manager, he said she had to pay the whole thing or he would call the police. He knocked off 10% off her bill totally unacceptable. But paid what he wanted. I paid my bill left receipt in binder, walked out the door and manager came running out said I did not pay which I did. He was going to call police on us. I told him he picked up the wrong binder with our receipt in it. Once he found out he was wrong he told us to get off his f$#%ing property. We have never, ever been treated in such a way ever. That restaurant needs to fire that manager. I will be contacting the chamber of commerce and the BBB about their practices.
Very furious

Yes we were seated right away, and our drink orders were taken almost immediately that was a good thing, and that is where my good review ends. We waited over an hour after placing our order and never received our food. The waitress did get the kids a fruit bowl, but extremely disappointed with this restaurant. They weren t even busy. I Should have read the reviews first.

The food here is very yummy. Weekend with my family visiting relatives from michigan. An amazing restaurant for any occasion. The quality of food, preparation and service is truly outstanding! The prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality of the food. I would highly recommend the whole maine lobster along with the macadamia encrusted whitefish!! Enjoy, this is definitely a wonderful restaurant that will not disappoint.

Breakfast Waitress was very cranky. Part of a meal is the experience you have at a dining establishment and she was unpleasant. Food was okay, but $59 for three people before tip? Ridiculous pricing for simple breakfast.

It's a very beautiful a nostalgic venue! Unfortunately someone got the last Lobster, but the food we ordered was excellent! On Thursday night they have an all-you-can-eat Cod and shrimp. I got a 14 oz prime rib. Used to say both the shrimp the Cod and the prime rib were cooked perfection! The Cod did not have a fishy odor and the shrimp were delicious. The prime rib was juicy and just melted in your mouth! The bread was freshly baked & melted in your mouth. We had stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat and mozzarella cheese sauteed in olive oil! I should have gotten seconds! Malinka was the manager and her service was wonderful she was a working manager and tended to our every need as well as John who was our server! I've never met such Pleasant people working at a restaurant before! Their service was over the top and made us feel right at home! The desert Melinka handmade an apple cobbler and a chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Not only was the presentation perfect the desserts were mouth-wateringly delicious! I got 2 more to go. If you don't go anywhere else go to the lighthouse the food is pricey but it is more than worth the money you spend and the service is excellent!

Good service and good food. The salad was nicely prepared with chunks of fresh strawberries. The bread left quite a lot to be desired, but that's not why we came here! The salmon was very good.

Terrible service and the food is too expensive for the bad taste it has.The food took forever to arrive and it was not good at all. The manager checks if everything is okay before we even got our food. And when the waitress checks on us when we have been eating for half an hour or so, we expressed that we weren't satisfied with the food, the manager comes back with a frowning face and says that we said everything is fine when she checked on us. We explained that we haven't gotten our food yet then, she says we have eaten our food and we should have said something before that. At least smile in our faces lady.

We were in the Mackinac area for 3 nights over memorial day weekend. We stayed in a beachfront hotel nearby in Mackinac City. We were disappointed time and again in the restaurants in the area...until we decided to go against the poor reviews for the Lighthouse restaurant and go for dinner anyway. It was the best meal we had in Mackinac City. The restaurant was well updated and decorated. The windows were lovely. The service was excellent. Just one step short of white glove. Our entire family ordered different steaks and were so happy. Even the side salad was nice. We were so pleasantly surprised after all the touristy feeling places we had been and seen when all we wanted was a true local dining experience. I would recommend to family and friends and anyone wanting a nice meal in the city. It was walking distance to our hotel and any of the city's attractions.

We went there at 5 p.m. on Saturday night. The service was excellent, and the food was terrific. We had the all-you-can eat crab with mashed redskin potatoes, spaghetti squash, a carrot flower, an orange slice, a radish flower, some red grapes, and a few other decorative veggies. We did get a second serving of crab legs and still had room for melt-in-your mouth delicious chocolate lava cake. It may have been the best meal I've ever had. I really wish that I knew how to duplicate the spaghetti squash, as it was delicious. The server was friendly and helpful, and the decor beautiful. I'm giving it a 4 rather than a 5 only because we were seated near the front where the lobster tank was loud and annoying, but the waitress was able to get them to turn it down so that the noise was less distracting.

My sister and I had a wonderful experience at the Lighthouse. We ate there several years ago and anxiously awaited our arrival so we could compare our visits. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was just as wonderful as we remember and the staff made us feel like family. What more could we ask for? A very pleasant evening.

This place was awesome! They are under new management and have a few kinks to fix regarding the confusion from old menu pulling up on internet and the new menu...they no longer have chicken or pasta on menu which is what my husband wanted. They did however make him chicken alfredo from scratch when we told them the online menu still has it on there. Our waitress Kristy asked the chef to fix it and they did and my husband LOVED it! I had the salmon which was excellent! They were serving complimentary soup that day (Sunday) which was also delicious and the bread...yummy! Worth checking out when in the area!!

The last time my husband and I went to your restaurant was when we got engaged in October 2016. The dinner that night was excellent. We are here in the city to finish out our honeymoon and walked across the street to celebrate our wedding almost a week ago. We were disappointed when we found that the restaurant was closed. Your website and Facebook did not state that you were closed. Just moving forward could you mention that you are seasonal and not year round. We will be back for the excellent food in the fall.

Great food and great service. The location is perfect for the hotel we typically stay at so we always stop here. The prices are a bit high but its to be expected in a tourist town. I would stop here again.

Price way to high for what you get. Order a shrimp cocktail for $8.50 got four pieces of small seemed to be frozen fish. Got a 8oz steak for $22 and it was super thin, for sure not worth the money spent. Go to logans or apples bees, the food is better at those places and way cheaper. Very dissapponted.

When we first went there early in the evening it was a public food contest to see who can eat the most of the all you can eat crab legs which was kind of disgusting and nothing more than a food trough for tattooed people. But then suddenly around 7 the better crowd showed up everything changed and we were very happy to stay and finish our dinner which by the way was excellent so my suggestion is to get there later after the large eaters are gone. Waitress was very friendly

Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner during our vacation and our experience was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant had very nice and upscale furnishings and the wait staff gave it an extremely homey vibe and feel.

We had the escargot served in mushroom caps, which were really tender and delicious. My only thoughts were it was slightly salty due to the added cheese which I feel personally that the dish didn t require but made it absolutely wonderful nevertheless.

I had the macadamia encrusted whitefish served with sphagetti squash and a baked potato which they substituted for me with house made French fries which were absolutely fantastic. The fish was incredibly delicate, fresh, and had a excellentlly made crust garnished with macadamia pieces.

My girlfriend got the whitefish served in a lemon capers cream sauce. The fish was succulent and the sauce was not over powered by the saltiness of capers, very well balanced! She was also super happy with the vegetable bread served with our very well made ceased salads. (It s the little things sometimes :-) )

Our only regrets were that we had eaten so much that we didn t save room for the house made desserts which were displayed by the restaurants pastry chef. It was a beautiful spread never the less.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for some beautifully made seafood!

Wow....what a disappointing meal. Food was just ahh....ok. Drinks took forever. No straw was given no silverware was given. Server was lacking personality. Never got me a drink refill. Never checked on us. Server seemed very annoyed we were even there. Go somewhere else. There are lots of way better options. If you're reading this review to find a good place for breakfast, this is NOT the place to go.

Great food but terrible and I mean terrible service! If they screw up don't bother complaining because they really don't care about your oppinon! Owner doesn't care if your displeased with the service just expects to get paid! If you don't like his BS option on a 10% discount he will point his finger in your face while screaming at you! Then don't bother to stand up for yourself because he will call the cops! If I could give negative stars I would. Don't work in food service if you don't have ANY PEOPLE SKILLS!

My husband and I went here last night. I ordered the crab and he ordered the whitefish with the lemon caper cream sauce. We each tasted each other's and it was delightful to say the least! The manager came around with desserts and was so nice making us feel like we were guests in her own home. We went back tonight to experience the same welcome. Prime rib this time and just as good. 5 stars for sure

I would like to say first up that we came in about...

I would like to say first up that we came in about 40 minutes before closing time. I don't know if this impacted our experience. We ended up leaving 10 minutes after closing.

As The Lighthouse was fairly empty when we walked in, we were seated immediately and service was quick to respond. Our wait person, while being very pleasant and friendly, was perhaps distracted due to the lateness of the hour, busy doing pre-closing chores--in any case, there were forgotten items, mix-ups on drinks, etc.

We ordered the crab cakes appetizer; while they were tasty enough, they were simply plopped on a small plate without any garnish or anything else to distract from the small size of the serving, which I'm guessing was about half-dollar sized. The aioli served with the cakes was in a small dip bowl on the side. For $11, I was rather dismayed.

The meal in general didn't have much going for it in the looks department, considering how much we paid to eat there.

The bread served wasn't anything remarkable; two days later I don't recall what it was like. I wasn't impressed at the time, though.

We ordered the pork; while the portion size was good, it was tough and dry. As a matter of fact, neither one of us could finish our meat, and we decided to have it boxed to go. We ended up throwing it out the next morning, as it smelled off. I will say that at the time, it didn't taste off, and I've never known meat to go bad overnight when refrigerated at lower than 40 degrees, so I don't know what that was all about.

It also would have been nice if the menu had mentioned that the vegetable dish being served was spaghetti squash; while it didn't taste bad, I'm not a big fan of that kind of squash and would have liked to have known this in advance so I could order something else. I ate it, but only because it was late, we hadn't eaten all day, and I was sure they wanted to close soon.

Another issue I had was that oddly, the cola tasted terrible. I don't know if it was water they used for carbonation, or if their syrup-to-carbonation ratio was off or what. I am pretty easy going regarding colas, but I couldn't finish it.

At the price we paid for that meal, we were absolutely underwhelmed as to the quality.

To reiterate, our server was friendly and funny, which is the only reason I have given this restaurant 3 stars instead of 2 (or more accurately, 1 1/2) She was the only bright spot in our dining experience at The Lighthouse. We won't be returning.

Service SUCKS we walked in and were looking around their entry way and people that walked in minutes after us got seated first. Waiter took forever to come get our order. Food is good though that's the reason for 2 star instead of 1

Do not go here. Horrible service. We ended leaving.

We were a group of ten. The place was not busy and they simply ignored us. The servers never provided menus nor displayed any sign of acknowledging we were there. After the third time we asked for the menus, one of the servers literally through some menus on our table (about 4), said: here are some , and walked away... Zero stars.

The service is horrible!! Took 15 minutes to get seated not to mention waiting 30 minutes for our server to come take our orders. Once the orders were placed an additional 45 minutes went by and our sever said nothing to us about our food. Another server offered to go check for us but she never came back and said anything so we were forced to get up and walk out. Not sure how the food is because never got a chance to try it due to never receiving a simple breakfast order.

My husband and I went there tonight for our honeymoon and both of us were very very disappointed. Our server saw us as little as possible and said no more than 6 words to us the whole night. She never checked on us even once and the price was way too high for anything to be even reasonable! $9 for 2 little crabcakes about the size of a silver dollar? No thanks! To top it off, the food was honestly not great. Presentation was sloppy and it looked like they didn't know what to do so they just threw random things on a plate. The music was loud and harsh and honestly didn't match the setting. I do hope management fixes these issues, it has a lot of potential.

Host was not professional in dress and manners. Very clean rest rooms. Waitress was not around and we ended up getting more coffee creamer and sugar from another table. Long wait of 45 minutes between ordering and getting our breakfast. Waitress stopped by and asked about the food. We said the hash browns tasted awful and just gave the expression of "oh wel!" and walked away. We did receive a small discount on our bill. I will not be coming back.

Everything was too expensive for what you get. The food and service is good but frozen shrimps breaded in coconut are not worth $25. It will be a very good place if the prices were more realistic

A little disappointed in presentation of our dishes. The escargot was really good. And then we got our salads, which were simple, not much time or quality ingredients put into it. The service was odd.. maybe our server was new, but she was odd. Food was tasty. Except for our salads. It just wasn't as nice as the pictures showed. And expensive.

Would give a higher rating, but service didn't quite match the price. Being the end of the season, seemed as though they were a little understaffed.

On the other hand, the food was amazing. I could cut my New York Strip with my fork effortlessly. It was cooked to my exact liking. My girlfriend had the Perch, she said it battered just right, and seasoning was good.
We both had mashed potatoes, also very good. They gravy, you could tell was made in house (from what looked to be potroast), and was top notch.
The salads were good, the small loaf of bread served with the salads was great. Could tell it was baked fresh.

All in all, The Lighthouse Restaurant in Mackinaw City, was worth every penny, and we will definitely return.
