The food tasted great and the service was excellent

Service was very poor, even had to wait by the door for a few minutes before anyone noticed that we needed to be seated and it wasn t even busy. Very overpriced for the quality of the food. Will not be visiting again.

Great food, service and prices were extremely fair. Family ordered New York Strip, shrimp, cod and pork chop. Everyone was greatly satisfied....would definitely go back again.

Clean and good food. Service was slow. Our group had fish and steak. All very good. Great location. Just allow time to get meals.

Very accommodating host & waitstaff. The bartender normally poured drinks at another establishment & was filling in & she did a good job.

Loss of a star because they charged extra for bread when it could have/should have come free with our Greek Salad or Eggplant dishes.

Check out the ceiling in the bar area - beautiful!

High cuisine! I picked the largest lobster out of the tank. You can't get fresher than that. I would recommend this to anyone!

It took 25 minutes to get a server for our table and when the food came, it was very lackluster for the price. This restaurant, along with the entire city, is just another tourist trap.

The food was really good, but the service was not very good, and there were not many people. The waitress must have been new.

Price matches the quality. The blackened stuffed salmon was great!

The waitress was very nice which makes it hard to complain. I ordered the prime rib (med). It was way over cooked and extremely tough and barely warm. My husband ordered the white fish and said his was hot but not very good at all. It is so disappointing to spend $100 on dinner and taste aweful. Very disappointing :-(

Good food, friendly and fast service, pleasant atmosphere. The pan fried walleye with orange honey butter and spaghetti squash was very tasty.

The boneless Walleye was terrible and your going to choke to death on bones and I don't know how they can screw up a baked potato but I make a better one with a microwave. The crab legs are ok if you like them cold. If you come here hungry your going to leave that way to. Plus it's way over priced

I am writing this review for a friend who recently visited The Lighthouse restaurant with her sister on vacation and she had a terrible experience she wanted to share. So she is writing this review:
I got the Surf and Turf and I ordered my steak med rare and after waiting a good while she brought it out and the lobster was burnt and the steak didn't have any pink in it, so I asked the waitress if she would take it back and get me a steak that was med rare and the lobster not burnt so after waiting again she brought it out and it was the same. I asked to talk to the Manager and he came out and first he was ok but when I complained he went off on me.I have never been so embarrassed. I couldn't believe he would treat a customer that way,he got mad and jumped up and slammed the chair down and walked me off. I have been in the food business most of my adult life and Im 65 and I would never dream of treating a customer this way.I asked about him at another place and I asked if they knew a Jack Pappas and was told yes that he wasnt a very nice person and I understand why! I don' t mind paying a lot for a good meal but I want to be able to eat it first!!!!!

Took 15 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us, and they were not busy. Never told about specials. Lettuce was old and wilted. Stuffed Whitefish was basically a load of crab cakes on top of the fish with a heavy sauce. Waitress was rude. As I have managed restaurants in the past I always tend to give the servers a break, but not this time.
No toilet paper in the women s bathroom and the spot where they leave their personal hygiene items was overflowing.
My wife s corn chowder was very good as was her crab cakes. For the money we spent....overall not worth it.

Food was good, especially the fresh whitefish, but the prices did not feel justified. Server was friendly, though unattentive. The $9 crab cake appetizer is certainly not worth the two small patties you get. Being within walking distance to all the major hotels is nice, but if you are willing to travel further for good seafood I suggest doing so.

Waited in an empty lobby. never greeted or acknowledged. never tried the food.

Their dress code seems particularly lax here. One of the waiters was wearing a sports shirt and cargo pants while others were in vests and dress pants.

The decor was okay though. It was not very tied together but overall I enjoyed the look.

The food was okay. It was nothing I'd really talk about (good or bad). I ordered the vegetarian burger with my friend and we both couldn't finish it. The texture was too soft and the flavor was kinda bland. I heard the beef was excellent though.

Overall the price was a bit high too.

Not a bad place to go but nothing great

Extremely slow service. We sat down and ordered coffee and food within about 5 minutes and waited for almost an hour before our food got to the table. With an omelet costing $15 it needs to be at the table a whole lot faster.

Great place for seafood in Mackinaw City. Pricier options but high quality. The whitefish was served with potatoes and spaghetti squash. Enjoyed the woodwork throughout the restaurant.

We had dinner there and the waiter double charged us for our drinks. I found out and called the restaurant and they promised to send money, but they never did.

Went there with my husband and my daughter for dinner and the was foodwas not very good . My husband order a fillet minion and he told the waiter a medium rate but its too cook and the waiter took back , and came back the same . So my husband finnaly canceled the order since the cook don't know . But anyway my husband paid the salad that he ate. I won't recomment to anybody. And also the waiter its not friendly.

TERRIBLE!! Over priced!! Rubbery chicken,cold watery crab legs. Croutons tasted days old. 2 meals completely left un edible. We were offered a 10% discount on a 133.00$ bill for our inconvenience!! REALLY!! DONT waste your TIME (it took 45 min to actually get our food) or MONEY at this place!

A fine dining experience went in with low expectations. Was pleasantly surprised.

Poor service ruined what would have been an average but over priced meal.

We had a party of 6 and we were sat fast. The food was hot and very, very good. The only complaint I have was that it was so dark in their for breakfast that it didn t give you that bright good morning vibe.

Waitstaff did the best they could. If this doesn't tell you they are being run into the ground, I don't know what will. On fathers day, they had 2 on the floor to serve the entire eatery. dozens of people were walking away. It took nearly 2 hours for us to complete a meal and 45 min to get our first bite of food after waiting 15 to order! We would have left but we have 3 small kids under 8 and it was easier to deal with making them happy instead of moving them to a new location. We sent food back. Had wilted salads served in warm dishes. They burnt 1 dish that made it to the table. We still laid 20% on the waitress because they can't help they are being poorly managed. This place is in one of the largest travel destinations in our state and run by a monkey or absent owner. You pick, but you will not enjoy it if you aren't lucky.

Was staying at one of the local hotels and decided to eat here for dinner one night, glade we made the choice to eat here food was tasty and the service was extremely nice.

We tried the endless crab for dinner. They were so good you didn't even need to use butter. Even the kids dinners were great. All around great Seafood if your looking and with friendly service to top it off.

Food was good, our waitress was not very pleasant, be carefull when you ask for the salt.

Brought my new bride here on our honeymoon and ordered two waters, one calamari appetizer, and two stuffed whitefish entrees and spent nearly $100 after tip. Service was fine but the price was outrageous for what we received. The fish itself was good and generous in portion but the "stuffing" tasted like yestersay's leftovers, the spaghetti squash was undercooked, and the mashed potatoes were lukewarm and dry.

We have eaten here several times and used to recommend it to everyone. Last night we had an awesome waitress. My wife ordered Surf And Turf. She hesitated to complain about the horrible taste of the meal. The waitress saw the discussed look on her face. The waitress brought the meal back to the cook. She explained that the manager / owner said she could order something to replace it. She did. The bill came and both of her meals were on the check. The waitress was in tears. She said she was only allowed to remove a small portion of the first meal. Frustrated and not complainers, we paid and left. It is now the morning after and she has been throwing up all night. Hey manager, there was something wrong with the meal. Horrible experience and won t return.

Sat for 30 mins before we even saw our waiter. Group came in after us were served before us. Waiter often forgot to come back. And the pop/soda lines were musty.

Me and my family ate there for dinner and I tried all of their meals and they were to die for, price was a little much for the amount but it was worth it for the taste

I love this restaraunt!! Beautiful and cozy atmosphere, attentive and patient waitstaff, amazing food!! My husband drive 3 and a half hours just to eat here, their crab legs are that good!

Great food! Fresh fish ! Wife likes the coconut shrimp!

We came on a Thursday. The appetizer was not warm. The service is slow and it was a slow night. I would not recommend. And the prices are high for such horrible service and cold food

Do not go here for breakfast. It took over 10 minutes to be seated.Took almost an hour to get our "gourmet breakfast" that was far from advertised. Overpriced food when you could've eaten better at your hotels breakfast bar. Service was horrible, food was gross, prices were way too high for an average breakfast. You're better off waiting in the lines for the other breakfast places. Also the place was extremely hot and uncomfortable when it looked like they had the option for a/c but didn't have it on.

Ordered a shrimp appetizer, received 4 shrimp for $11, the macadamia crusted white fish was excellent, the steak was over cooked, the white fish with shrimp and crab stuffing was savory. Was very impressed with the spaghetti squash. The bread was amazing. The service was very slow, (seldom saw our server) and the wait for the food was extensive. The water was good, but very difficult to mess up water...per our 16yo daughter.

Everything was out of this world. From the bread, salad with fresh strawberries, frog legs, stuffed whitefish, bacon onion red skin potatoes and squash.

Total wait to be seated and receive food was about an hour, if not over. Sign outside says "perfect" breakfast, far from perfect, but fair. $6.99 for a bowl of cereal, most things are a bit over priced for the quality. Waitress wasnt in a very good mood. Overall 2 stars.

*You are in the #1 tourist town in Michigan. If you're complaining about the prices of a town that lives off of tourism, go home.

Our food was very good. Would have given more stars if they would have explained that they were short staffed instead of getting snarky when we asked what was taking so long for our food.

While visiting Mackinaw City on Sunday 8/6/17 we had a fantastic meal at the Lighthouse Restaurant. The food and service was fantastic. A 10+ for us. Our waiter Andrei was completely professional and had a great personality and it was a pleasure to meet him. We would highly recommend The Lighthouse to anyone visiting the area, and wants to have a great meal at very reasonable prices.

We had a great dinner. Ordered the NY strip and prime rib. Our server was friendly and did a great job of checking on us. We stayed at the hotel across the street so this was also very convient to get to. We will definitely go back when we visit again.

Excellent food and service. A quiet relaxed atmosphere on a Tuesday night.

Food was good, the wait to be seated seemed excessively long. Others we talked to as they were leaving complained about how long it took to get their food, we were at the end of the rush, so it took a while, but not as bad as they had us expecting. I was surprised and frustrated that they didn't have WiFi (especially when the waits were so long).

Took a while to actually get seated. Host busy doing other things so no attention to the door. Finally got seated and the place wasn't real busy due to social distancing. Was brought our water and oj and then the wait......wait......wait.......wait....water glasses empty. Including the ice. I'll be back to fill those up our waitress said..wait....wait...wait...people who were seated before us still didn't have any food nor the people seated before them. Finally after over....over an hour we got up...left money for juice and walked out. No one even batted an eye or acknowledged our departure. Thx for the five dollar orange juice and starving us for over an hour. Not your best performance for sure. Dont plan on being around much longer with this kind of customer service. I for sure will never go back and will do my best to spread the word to others
