We came to Lydia's for the first time last week and it was superb. We both remarked to many of our friends that it was probably one of the best dining experiences that we've had. Our waiter, Cendo, was extremely attentive. The food was remarkable, and the wine was even better. Mark greeted us as we were waiting for our dessert, and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere was also very welcoming and comfortable. We will be returning and bringing friends. Thank you to the staff and cooks at Lydia's !

My friend and I went to Lidia's yesterday for the first time. I was really expecting much better quality food for the price and the name. We both ordered the pasta trio and were incredibly underwhelmed. For one thing, my friend ordered a garden salad (misti, I believe) and it had chunks of canned tomatoes in it instead of fresh ones!! WHO does that? We couldn't believe it.
One of the pastas in the trio had tomatoes, Italian sausage, and I believe asparagus. The sausage was crumbled very finely and the tomatoes were halved cherry tomatoes tossed in regular spaghetti noodles. It was so weird. It resembled cafeteria food.
The other pasta was a fettuccine with shrimp and asparagus. Also very sparse with these ingredients. The shrimp were very small. There were only 2-3 asparagus heads in the dish, the rest was the stalk cut into tiny slices. It was basically tasteless. I decided I'd take it home and doctor it up myself after the fact.
The 3rd pasta was a cheese ravioli. It was good, but nothing great. All 3 portions were rather small. None of the pastas had any kind of sauce on them, as I expected the sausage pasta to have. Just olive oil or butter on everything.
That trio dish costs $36, includes a salad and dessert. Removing the cost of that salad and dessert, the pasta main course probably cost ~$20. NONE of that pasta was worth that. It was simply sub-par and nothing to ever go back for. The sad reality is that I've had far better food at Olive Garden for a lot less money. We got the cannollis for dessert. They sounded great... dark chocolate with candied orange. When they were brought to the table, I could see no chocolate at all, just 3 slivers of the orange. I asked the server where the chocolate was. He replied that it was chopped in the cannolli filling. It was barely perceptible. I had assumed there would be some kind of chocolate sauce present by the description. Once again, they were OK, and the candied orange was good, but no big deal. My final bill was $43 after soft drinks. There's no way I'm ever going back to Lidia's. It was a big disappointment.

Honestly, I really do like coming to Lidia's whenever I can to eat my fill of the pasta trio. However, the last time I came here with my family it was sorely apparent that something was very wrong with the wait staff. Starting from waiting almost 40 minutes between appetizer and entree, to then not seeing our waitress more than twice, and then having to wave down the person who was supposed to be giving us our pasta trio for Every Single Refill--the experience had become an annoyance. I would absolutely love to come back here but I can only hope that the next time I come it isn't such a draining experience.

Stumbled upon Lidia's on a day trip to Pittsburgh. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were perfect. The restaurant was very nice and the staff was incredible! I definitely will be returning!

Not kid friendly. They don't offer a huge variety of food. Its definetly Italian all the way though. Huge menu of wine and champagne. The waiter was not rude when I had no idea what to order. The menu doesn't have prices on it for a reason.

Ok its pricey, its sorta snooty. But the bone in strip is fantastic. Yeah its 28 bucks but I compared the same dish to another pub restaurant for 18 bucks and there is a difference all the way across the board. Treat your self sometimes.
They should do something about the outside dining. Like a screen or something, to sort of separate the valet from the diners.

We were really disappointed. At first they were out of beer. We ordered appetizers, 2 of which were mussels. The waiter came back and said they are out of it. Understandable. My son ordered octopus. They were our 8f it. He ordered fried calamari and got... fried vegetables. He had about 3 calamari pieces.
They did not include it in the bill after we cimplaint. We were done with our main dish and waited for dessert menu and coffee. Instead we received a bill. Nobody even asked us about it!!

This was our second time there. The first time was for our anniversary and the food was mediocre, we went again because it was familiar (and we are not from the area) and we have a daughter with an allergy. The service was fantastic...but the food is average. Our daughter has a severe peanut allergy, we called ahead and they assured us that the food was safe. Our waitress was exceptional, she checked and double checked to keep our daughter safe. The food is not terrible, but it really is just average.

The restaurant itself looked very nice and spacious. It was a few steps from my hotel so it was an obvious choice. And the hotel recommends it as the place to go. I did and regret my order (see pictures). Soup with too much cheese so after I ate it I was almost full. Then came gnocchi. It looked very tasty but I had simply too much already so simply skipped half the place. I'd give it another visit.

You can't beat Lidia's for the quality of the food or the quality of the service. This isn't quite the place for me, though. Much of the food is fancier than my tastes and the prices are higher than I might normally choose to pay. The last 3 of my 4 times eating here have been for work dinners where the person inviting us paid for everything. If you're willing to pay extra for special dishes, though, then you'll most likely appreciate Lidia's more than I do.

I am always hessitant when I am going to an Italian restaurant with my gluten and dairy intolerance. They waiter was so great!!! He made sure my meal was dairy and gluten free. There is gluten free pasta option. It was a nice place to go to dinner!

This is a place I had wanted to like because I know folks that do like it and want to visit. The last time we stopped by we wanted to grab a quick bite at the bar so we sat down and waited, and waited. No one approached us. From out two prior visits I thought the food was very average. It's possible that we were just unlucky during our visits but after three attempts, I'm just not sure we will try again. The place is in a great location, a short walk to the convention center.

Service was poor. Waited for water. Waited for pasta cheese. Waited way to long for dinner. Items on salad bar need replenished. 1 item with pasta trio was missing the asparagus and pasta was bone dry. When server stop by to see if we wanted more that batch had shrimp, asparagus and oil with garlic. The only time server expressed interest was when bills where brought to table. Then she was all chatty. Must have thought it would help get her a bigger tip. 8 of us dined that day. Only 2 liked their dinner. I wish you Good Luck if you eat there.

Great service, wonderful view, and good food!
Very nice evening celebrating a 50th birthday. Sat on the first level away from the windows (a slight disappointment), and had a nice meal. Very attentive wait staff. Please see the attached photo - seared tuna (was cold; only issue with the meal) that was well presented; good side dishes; and a tiny app/desert nibble on the house. Entrees are..

I've been in this hotel for 3 days. Service was excellent! My room (1914) has a good view that include the PNC park stadium, with binoculars in the room. The room was very nice. 2 big and very comfortable beds, un business desk, mini bar, coffee table and the bathroom was outstanding. Truly recommended!

The dishes are overpriced for the quality. I got the stuffed quail ($24). It was overcooked and dry. The sauce was thick and sweet. The caesar salad was boring and tasteless. Not what I'd expect for an $8 salad. I frequently spend a lot of money on good food, so it's not the prices that are a shock, it is the quality of food that Lidia Bastianich put her name on. I was with coworkers so I didn't complain. Eating there made me angry.

Fine a Italian food with a comprehensive wine selection. None of our party of 10 had a dud meal, on the contrary the food was of the highest quality. Those that chose the trio of pastas were treated to some well made fare. What's more they were treated to as much as they cared to indulge. The food was fresh and well presented. The restaurant itself was open, not overly noisy, and comfortable. The service was attentive and efficient.

We went here while we were out for a convention. I love Lidia's program! I ordered a sampler for three pasta dishes which two of them I really enjoyed one of them not as much but they were willing to fill me up on the other ones to appease my appetite. My husband ordered the lobster salad dish which was superb. The lobster was grilled and just so so yummy! My order came with dessert but because I was filled up with my pasta I took it to go. to my dismay when we got back to the hotel room my desserts were not what I ordered so I was a bit disappointed in that. But the facility was beautiful and the service was fantastic. I would go here again but just make sure I get the right dessert if I'm taking at home.

I used to have lunch here years ago when I worked in that area. I told my mom it was fantastic. I made reservations for her birthday Saturday, March 9 2019. We drove 40 minutes to get there. Service was slow. 20 minutes to get our iced tea and had to ask for water. I wasn't bothered by the wait. It was busy. The waiter told mom the duck was the best thing on the menu and fantastic. My mom said it didn't taste like duck and whatever it was was undercooked. I could see the gristle and fat on it. Mom sent it back and got the pasta trio because otherwise the waiter said it would be a 35 min wait. I also got the pasta trio and didn't get seconds. It was lousy. The alfredo was dry and sticky. The other two were okay but lacked taste/seasoning. Ceasar salad was okay. The total bill along with $10 parking and tip for waiter/valet was $110 and we didn't have alcohol. I was embarrassed and mom said Olive Garden would have been a better choice. Very, very disappointed. I don't recommend it. It was so unenjoyable, I feel a refund is in order.

As others have said here, the food was mediocre, truly. And the service is rushed, a little chaotic, and not so personable. We had the pasta tasting menu for $35 a person. It included a generic small caesar salad. The pastas were a ziti with spicy sauce, no meat, no chunky tomatoes, etc. And about 6 ravioli with ricotta stuffing in chicken based sauce. And a thick, wide pasta with cabbage and a few tiny pea sized pieces of sausage. The meat and sauces and flavors were just noticeably absent. This is probably due in part to the fact that they bring a skillet full of pasta table side to serve each one and what you get from the skillet depends on your server because they use that skillet to serve other people in the room at the same time. Dessert was 2 tiny 3-4oz tiramisu. Not thick and luxurious. A light whipped cream version. The food quality was totally Olive Garden $10 all you can eat pasta menu. And not even close to the quality of Olive Garden's tiramisu.

Went to Lidia's for brunch for the second time and I can't rave about it enough! The 3 courses are an amazing amount of food and the drinks are delicious. My husband devoured the pasta trio (twice!). One of my favorite parts of the meals are the selection of in-house-made butters. Attention to detail from the simplest dish to the most complex is quite impressive. It's great to have an authentic Italian option in Pittsburgh...can't wait to go back!

The ambiance was amazing! Beautiful decore and very professional servers. The food was amazing! The pasta was made fresh in house. I ordered the pasta trio which is chef's choice of 3 pastas which change daily and unlimited portions. This is owned by the chef who cooked for Pope Francis 3 years ago when he was in Philadelphia.

Five of us met for lunch. Fabulous experience. Frico and fried zucchini for appetizers were perfect. The zucchini were nor on the menu but or special request was honored without skipping a beat. Three pasta entree was chosen by each of us. The ravioli were outstanding. Fettuccine was a close second. Finished with coffee, espresso, cappuccino and dessert and limoncello. Service was crisp and pleasant. Definitely worth the 200 mile drive to meet up with family and friends.

I used to really enjoy the food here. But the last 2 times I have not had good experiences.
The time before last evening, we had the worst service from our waiter. He took forever to initially come to our table, and it just got worse from there. I had ordered the pasta trio which I love but the bussers with the pastas only came over one time. I had to ask for them to come over again, which is not what I had been used to on several prior occasions.

Last night I found our waiter to be very unfriendly. I ordered the eggplant parmisian which looked pretty on the plate but was too dry!

My friend ordered the pasta trio which was the worst combination of pastas I have tasted. The penne was hard so it was undercooked. The gnocchi was fair. And the egg noodle with seafood, I think crab, was good.

All in all it was a great disappointment. Too bad it used to be my "go to'" Italian restaurant.

Wonderful place to eat good with prices average price the only bad thing is they charge you $7 to park your car which they park it right across the street not much of a valet parking service he had a terrible attitude which I was not pleased with.

The food was cold the wait staff nonexistent on a slow evening and the manager acted annoyed when my mom asked to have her food heated up. Terrible. Almost like no one cared. I will not ever be back. Oh and the food was bad.

My boyfriend and I got the $70 groupon for Lidia's not quite knowing what to expect we have never been there before, wow did we have a great time. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was on point. Our severs were so friendly and attentive it really made for a great experience. I rarely write reviews but I feel like credit should be given where credit is due! I am looking forward to my next visit to Lidia's:)

I've eaten there three times. Two of those experiences were not good. Food was terrible. Service was good mostly. Management was inadequate in addressing issues. Not going back again. Too spendy for bad food.

Such a great place for pasta!! We would recommend the pasta trio! So amazing. The flavors were a great mixture. Each one was different and outstanding. We left so full and happy. The servers were so attentive and helpful to answer any questions we had.
