Parliament itself has been moved to the adjacent building, the West Block. It will be impossible for you to visit the interior of Parliament or the Peace Tower since the building will be undergoing renovations for the next 10 years. You will still be able to see it and photograph it from the outside. However, it is possible to visit this new Parliament (in the newly renovated West Block) free of charge when the House of Commons is not in session. See if you are in Ottawa!

The place is very historic and rich with architectural beauty. It is very nice example of Canadian spirit. The staff was very friendly and gave very nice explanation about the Parliament and its history.

Very spectacular architecture, seamlessly integrated with the surrounding squares and parliament buildings. For Canada, this style of architecture is more reminiscent of Europe than contemporary North America.

Such amazing buildings and great symbols of our civic pride. Centre Block is especially mesmerizing during the winter for "Christmas Lights Across Canada" and on Canada Day during fireworks. I'm glad to see some well overdue renovations are being completed.

I went there early August. I advise you to come and see for yourself this capital. There was the World Fireworks Championships. You will not be disappointed. In winter, there is the canal where you can come skiing too
So come and visit yourself. The city is worth a visit

Got a free tour when I visited with my friends. Just go across the street to the kiosk and they will assist you. Definitely worth it. You get to go on top of the tower and witness the beauty of the city. Best part - seeing Ottawa, Ottawa River and Gatineau all in one view. What an amazing sight.

The seat of Canada's government. This historic building is definitely worth the visit with a guided tour that lasts for about an hour and the ability to sit in on the question period if you have the time.

Go and do the tour! Very interesting and informative! The building is so very beautiful! It gets busy close to Canada Day. There s a stage in front and so the view is not that nice, but it doesn t matter, it s for a celebration. Will come again and again!

Imposing! To visit the interior of the building you need to get free access tickets on Wellington Street 90 (look at Google Maps) to participate in the guided tour. It is permissible to photograph in certain parts of the tour, the guide always informs, but in the Library which is beautiful - the most beautiful place in the interior of Parliament - can not. As part of the tour you can choose to visit the Peace Tower which offers beautiful views of Ottawa and yields good photos. As it is a government building there are restrictions on the access of bags and backpacks, prefer not to take anything, because if not approved by security does not enter. There are toilets inside the building, no snack bar, a gift shop.

The Parliament Building is a must see in Ottawa. Get a tour ticket (FREE) across the street at the building with the big question mark on it. Make sure to go up the Tower of Peace for great views.

Lots of people at some times, yet empty at others. Visit inside the walls of the Parliament or take a walk outside following the numerous bronze statues and monuments detailing Canada's history.

They have free and paid tours available. Just based on time restraints (have to book a paid tour) I only ended up with a free tour. It is a well maintained building with great picture opportunities.

For everyone visiting Ottawa and Gatineau you must visit the Parliament but to enter you must get tickets which you half to line up to get. The line can take around 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the time of year. The best way to get tickets is by waiting around 9 or 10 am. Inside Parliament is very unique and great experience for anyone is is family friendly. Just note you must get through security like at a airport to enter.

A pleasant, sophisticated capital is crowned by this beautiful Gothic Revival masterpiece. A fitting parliamentary building. Beautiful, pleasant, safe, and great to visit. Convenient parking could be found nearby.

Spent one hour to pass the security check then I had only few minutes simply went to the exit. Everywhere had been closed. Why should I pay tax to these stupid politicians gaining money and doing nothing?

The (free!) tour inside of Parliament is too short, with 90% of time waiting in line or standing in a corridor listening to the story of the building. You are given a glimpse of the library (very beautiful) from the outside, and the trip ends in a gift shop, available only to those who participate in the tour (it is inside the building). The gift shop is, amazingly, one of the highlights of the tour - lots of interesting items. The outside of the building is very beautiful, and there are multiple parks and other attractions nearby - so, it is reasonable considering this tour as part of a nice afternoon in Ottawa.

Sound and light show at night was spectacular. We went there half an hour early and we ended up watching the fireworks right behind the parliament building. Fireworks started around 9:20 pm and went on for a good 15-20 mins. The sound and light show then followed and went almost for 30 mins. The kids loved it.

There is no parking at the parliament building itself. There are a lot of public pay parking lots nearby. There is free parking on the weekends at The World Exchange building but when we reached there there was a sign saying lots were full. So plan ahead of time and reach early. We found a parking lot that was 10 mins walk for a flat weekend rate of $5.

A very good monument of History of Canada. Parliament house is well built on river bank. Has various offices, galleries, House of Commons, viewing gallery on top of peace tower. Worth visiting.
Tour guides are also have very well explanatory power and knowledge of history too.
A place must for all visitors to Ottawa.

Everybody is a political person, whether you say something or you are silent. A political attitude is not whether you go to parliament; it's how you deal with your life, with your surroundings.

Really this place have bought up many Genuine politicians to the word and we can see through it.

Overwhelmingly historical! The architecture is regal! Worthy of a country like Canada and its support for the real Commonwealth institutionality. It shows the economic progress of a nation that has managed to protect its citizens well, be a good neighbor and treat the guest well.

Such a beautiful experience watching the change lf the guard in front of the Parliament. The only reason not to give 5 stars is that there are not many public places you can visit without booking a free tour in advance. But other than that, it's a great place to visit in Ottawa
