My opinion is divided:

My opinion is divided:
Usually I advocate for this bookstore, well, a peaceful place to spend some time with real paper books and informed vendors.

But,
During my last visit, the employees rather discouraged me.
Just before closing, you must go to the sanitary facilities, where you are asked not to enter with the books. Okay.
You will get out of it in time, But! An employee comes in, knocks on your door, calls you again, holds the door to the exit ... And good manners? Only sell the image of a relaxation area, and books on philosophy and tolerance, if these concepts resonate with you.
Especially in the digital age when news travels fast ... especially if on release, you no longer leave the possibility of buying the deposited book, unnecessarily insisting that `` the hour is the hour '' - which irritates all the more when this is not yet the case, watch in hand.

A good hearer

The Aliba cave of the cultural product par excellence in Brussels! There is everything!
Novels, children's games, tourist guides, board games, magazines, DVDs, a substantial cooking department, ...
Maybe everything is a little too much ... We end up getting lost and stopping at the bar to catch our breath.
The staff is competent, a special mention for the "children" department.

Very very pleasant surprise! We stumbled upon it while walking and it was a real pleasure! Very large bookstore with a large selection of novels, newspapers, various books, stationery, ... There is also a small cafe where you can sit and enjoy a small coffee. Even people who don't like reading will find something to their liking in this little paradise on earth

Most: an incredible choice and not only books, snacks and employees who know it.
Cons: prices are not indicated on many comics and especially the building is quickly stuffy, I dare not imagine if there are a lot of people

Very large choice of books, in a very large number of areas and at a very honest price. I will highlight the book signings and the possibility of eating. The staff is very kind and competent. Parking is not easy but there are many bus lines and metro nearby.

Home ATROCE. You get pissed off at the checkouts, neither a goodbye nor a thank you. Palpable stress. From bookstore, it has become a large area with friendly employees like prison doors. Three times in a row I was treated with harshness and nervousness.

Massive space where you can find lots of books, specially for children. Also in other languages, not only French or Dutch.
Specially good the option inside with the cafeteria while your children are investigating books and toys.
Sunday is open
There are other stores in Brussels, don't know all of them, but this one might be the biggest.

Cultural factory which pushes to overconsumption. A little paradoxical in view of the values advocated by the library and amplified in this period of covid. Thank you for the introduction of vouchers valid for two months only AND which are not even valid the same day (forcing us to return to the store which is far from being covid free / safe loyalty having a price and a very limited duration at Filigrane, I'll look elsewhere to find my happiness

Very dissappointing attitude coming from staff of Filigranes. Last week, after shopping there with my aunt and cousin all three of us were suddenly stoped at the exit and asked to show our bags. As we opened our bags, I asked the guy what was the reason, he said : it is for those that don t buy anything at the store. I showed our bag full of books that we just purchased and also asked why he stopped only us and ignored several people that were exiting at the same time.. he answered sarcastically yes I discriminate people . What can I say? Bravo! Not stepping my foot in there again..!
