Great paintabll field its the players who help make the day. Wanted to comment on some things in other posts "no dead boxs" no on has had deadboxes in years, go back to the staging area and cleanup for the next game. Also some people reviewed the field without literally having played there - thats unfair or that your cannot bring your own paint - BYOP is rare and this is what the fields depend on to make money.
Overall great place to play - good facilities and good staff...that being said being nasty to staff will not help your experience and cheating is like all other sports - it happens. Football - holding and basketball - fouling - it happens having fun and being safe is the most important .

Nice parking area. Has tables for your gear right by the car. Self serve air. Heated indoor staging area if you want. They make "decent" food for lunch. Fields are pretty good. No airball. The pictures make the fields look much smaller and run down, They were much better in person.

I had a blast but my only issue was with the staff...

I had a blast but my only issue was with the staff. They are all extremely nice, but I highly recommend that they all get CPR/First Aid Certified, and have a proper First Aid Kit. I understand that with the waiver, you aren't allowed to sue, etc. however that doesn't mean they shouldn't be educated on learning how to take care of someone in case of an emergency.

My group went as a party group however during our last two rounds of the day we decided to go play with the public. After the second to last round one of my friends was bleeding from his head and had cut his head open from hitting a piece of ply wood. When he went inside and asked them for something to help it, all they did was give him a piece of paper towel. As if that's supposed to do anything!!! So we did our final round and after that his paper towel was covered in blood so I took a look at it, and the cut was extremely wide and it was very much apparent it needed proper treatment.

Since I am Certified in CPR and have taken a First Aid class, I took it upon myself to go inside and ask them for stuff. Once again however, they gave out a piece of paper towel. I told them that his cut was bad and explained to them how I had my certifications so I asked them to give me there kit, which by the way is nothing but a cardboard box full of supplies. After going through it I found some peroxide, gloves, and some other things that would take care of the injury until we took him to the hospital.

After it was all said and done he ended up getting 8 staples. I can only wonder what would've happened had I not looked at his injury or been certified... no one would have known how to treat him or whether or not the injury was serious. I think it would be in Liberty's best interest to make sure that its staff knows how to treat injuries and have the proper tools and kit to take care of people when things go wrong. We definitely got lucky that day because I knew how to take care of my friend, but I don't want someone else to get injured there one day and have no one there who knows how to help them.

So we commute to Liberty Paintball (Today - 10/27/...

So we commute to Liberty Paintball (Today - 10/27/18) by MTA Metro - North. For those that are going by Metro - North, please keep in mind that in addition to the 30+ minute walk, you have to walk even more and uphill this time. This is something not listed on the website. For us since it was raining today, it was not looking good since we had to walk a lot and now walk uphill. Fortunately there was a shuttle bus BUT that shuttle bus was not for Liberty Paintball, it was for Thunder Ridge. The driver was just kind enough to take us to the paintball site. When we got there, I noticed lockers. The website does NOT mention lockers in the facility but there are some on site. So do carry your own lock. Also, the ID situation. The site does not accept NYC ID, school or work ID. Bring a State ID (NYS or other state ID). If you forget, someone with a state ID can cover you (weird method). Furthermore, when you fill out the form (upon arrival - which states your name and what you will be purchasing that day - admission and gear), PLEASE PAY SEPRATE unless everyone in the group agrees to have one person pay for everything and then just receive payment from everyone (Venmo and Zelle). The employees there got annoyed with the confusion but they are there to help - CUSTOMER SERVICE guys! Another critical point was the timing. If you reserve by 12:30 PM, be there an hour earlier because if you have a big group and arrive minutes before you reservation, the employees will try to rush you to get ready. This can get CHAOTIC real fast (especially if it s your first time playing outdoor paintball). For restrooms, there were no toilet paper to be found. On a different note, we got to meet Chris and Nick (Referees). Both were very informative in the basics before playing and what to do when we were out in the field. When you go there, ask for both Chris and Nick. Now, with respect to the equipment, invest in thermal googles than an upgrade on the gun. Having foggy goggles isn t pretty. The jumpsuit is recommended (especially if you don t want your clothes to get ruin), a harness and PAINTBALLS. The rentals DO NOT INCLUDE the paintballs. It s best to invest in the 1000 or 2000 Paintballs package. These paintballs do run out and majority will drop their paintballs. Last note, we got to play outdoors, even in the rain. So do wear comfortable clothes and bring extra clothing. It can get real ugly. - H

A star is a reach. Me and my friends are habitual...

A star is a reach. Me and my friends are habitual paintballers who like to give new locations a chance, just to have some more field decals under our belts, but you can take this one back. I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START,

1. Why after a 6-8 minute game (trash) would you have 20-30 people go back to the registration area to sit down and wait 25-30 minutes while the referees smoke and talk? The dozens of locations I have played at usually would have the teams flip sides to give everyone a different feel of the field.

2. The rules are terrible, the referee said something along the lines of "If you yell into the front door of a 2/3 story building, everyone in the building is out" WHAT?!! So not only do I have to work to get to the building but all someone has to do is yell surrender into the front door and all the floors are eliminated? Please tell me that was made up on the fly.
Zero explanation of the course, or even rules. Some locations throw in a respawn rule/capture the flag/last man standing. Nothing at liberty. Red team go there, blue team go there. whistle blows and after 6 minutes with over 11 players still left on each side a whistle goes off. You don't know who won or lost, zero sense.

3.I'm a dog owner, I love dogs. but I don't come out to a paintball field to avoid dogs while I prepare myself for game. Put the dogs away.

4. communication is key? Me and my guys paid and were given arm bands, and weren't told anything else. I asked a "Referee/little kid" about how do we get to a game, he stated to go inside to the registration desk. We walked to the desk and was told to go outside and sit by the first table. After a 15 minute wait, I asked someone else who finally told us to follow him.

5. Fields. from 1000am - 4pm, we played on only 4 fields. How? I asked the referee why do we have to keep walking all the way back to the registration area instead of just getting into another field for play. Most paintball locations I have visited never bring you back to the starting area unless you need more paint/air or food. We did more walking to and from the field then we did actually playing on the field.
Staying on the topic of fields. The referees have radios for decoration. Games were starting while my side (Red team) weren't even told to get barrel plugs off/ or if we were ready.
I remember once after another unnecessary break, losing the direction of the group and asking a (Referee/kid) is he could radio in and ask for the location of the red team, and he said he couldn't and that we would have to wait till they got back. The radios are for decoration.

6. Smell. The septic tank right next to the table/registration area is a great choice of location. The smell/mosquitos were terrible.

I love giving places a second look, but I will not be wasting my money or time at this location again. When I want to walk around in a smelly environment while sweating, I'll just go to the gym.

I hate the drive but I'll definitely be heading back up to locations like Skirmish paintball, TopGun paintball or Msg, Where you get some quality service.

Great paintball place. Good for beginners. Good pricing for the tri-state area. It has several fields

A quirk: They have a designated luncheon period. You can only buy food during a set block of time. And they basically sell just chicken tenders, burgers, and hot dogs. I'd recommend bringing some bars or something to eat.

Had our son's 13th bday celebration here. 8 boys ranging from 9 to 13 all first time players. The facility is awesome. The gear is good too, we had very few issues with guns not working or getting jammed. Staff is super nice and very attentive. In our current COVID reality we found that the equipment seemed to have been clean and their process ensured the players did not mix with anybody other than the refs who had masks on at all times.
They tell you to try and come early to get your equipment ready and that is not an understatement. We ended up arriving right at the start time due to one of the kids being late. So we burned 30 minutes of play just getting the equipment. This is not because their system is bad it just takes time getting sized and suited up. Adults could do it faster but even then I would allow at least 15 minutes to prep before your playtime if you can.
The only negative we observed is that the breaks between fields took a lot of time. The kids wait while the refs determine what field they go to next. Had this been more efficient the kids might have gotten another field in. In their defense the place was busy and the weather not perfect so it might have been an abnormality. Also I am not sure we would have had the ammo for another game either.
Overall everybody had a great experience, we would definitely go back.

I came here with a few friends in August and had an amazing time! The registration process at the field was quick and simple. We were then told to head over to the Walk-On area where a ref professionally explained the rules and safety regulations at the paintball field.

I played on at least 10+ fields , the games were roughly 15 to 20 minutes long, and the refs were able to quickly turn over during the intermission & start the next game! Definitely coming back soon!

Great paintballing place. The refs are better than most places, but still leave something to be desired. You have to buy paint from them, and that makes things a bit expensive - but the maps and the setup make it worth it.

Staff so special, so nice. Real nice guy at front desk checking me in, I didn t catch his name but he was around 17 and had some American flag face mask and was very helpful and informative. Staff were definitely annoyed from yelling over crowds of people to keep their face coverings on in the building and one older gentleman was very rude and was screaming at the employees in front of customers when I went a couple of weeks ago. This older gentleman is the only one of the employees who was not wearing a mask and seemed to be ill. He was coughing violently at the front desk and I was nervous to go near him but otherwise the experience was amazing. Fields were awesome, refs were helpful and non bias, the prices were pretty damn good, paint needs improvement for price but a great place to bring your kids. Food was great for the price and the kids loved all the themed fields. Bathrooms were pretty clean for a paintball place. Road is very rough but kind of fun.

This is hands-down one of the best places to play paintball because they have over 10 awesome fields and they constantly have open play games rolling throughout the days. Not to mention the price. This is the best place to play woodsball on a budget, especially if you don't have your own gear. I play maybe a 6-10 times per year, and I almost exclusively play here because of the cost and the lack of waiting between games.

Definitely a good place to for pro-paint ballers to play. However, don t bring friends and family here to play a public matches. Take them to a different location! You won t get a decent public match by coming to liberty paintball. You will have to bring 20 people to have a private match. Otherwise you re stuck playing public match with 30 vs 30. You will most likely be playing against a lot very experienced players and will get hurt. You definitely won t get the fun experience out of a public match. Yet again request private session or go somewhere else.

Liberty Paintball is a wonderful place to have fun with friends and family on any occasion. I have been here 4 times for a combination of birthday parties and casual get-togethers. The staff was very helpful and kind, and the referees were experienced and cared for fairness and a positive experience for the players. The fields had a variety of different and interesting obstacles to provide cover, adding a lot of fun to the games. The pricing is very fair for the quality of paint and play. The entire facility is kept in good condition. The spacing between games and the lunch break is good and the fact that they offer lunch is convenient. I can't wait for my next game here!

Excellent Value, Incredible Staff!

Came here for the first time on 10/18/20. Was thoroughly impressed. Came here with a group of 3 other friends. For $180.00 we had an entire day of paint-balling. Rental gear was as good as what the pros bring, and the referees were fun and fair. Overall, was an excellent bang for the buck, and we'll all certainly be repeat customers! Worth the drive!

It's a great place to start playing paintball for beginners and for Experts who like to form their own groups and play Private games the paint is reasonably priced and air is in admission price for the day also if you have paint from a previous visit and they are using it that day you may use the paint you still have. You can bring your own gear or rent whatever you need. They have a lot of fields and good scenarios. Also if you visit their website they have events scheduled. It's a nice environment with everybody in the sport very friendly. They also have Airsoft and Airsoft rentals and fair referees.

We have been going to Liberty for well over 15 years and I can never remember a bad experience. The refs enforce all the safety rules as well as field rules, the fields are great and the new online waiver system saves a lot of time. Big shout out to today s refs Nick and Zack! Can t wait to go back again.

Nick was an excellent representation of quality service and exemplary employee who knows how to show the humanity today's work force is lacking, Frank on the other hand, showed nothing but the complete opposite of the previous statements, he was short with me in communication, dismissed my questions, and pawned off his responsibilities onto Nick, who I personally think should be the one handling those duties.

Pros

Pros
Decent pricing.
Amazing bathrooms.
Great staff.
Tons of players.
Multiple fill stations

Cons
Dirt roads takes 5 mins to get to the parking area and if you drive a car that's lowered to the ground good luck.

Long hilly walks to certain fields.

Field paint only.

No Airball as of 5/24/20.

Went today with 15+ people and the manager was really nice in accommodating a private group for us since we didn t make a reservation ahead of time (which I would totally recommend before going). All the courses were really fun and the crew members, like Richie, were all interactive and made the experience a blast. The gear, paintballs, and suits were also in good condition. Would definitely reccomend this place and we ll definitely be back soon!

First time paintballing. I had a great experience with my friends. Prices are very reasonable. I recommend renting a gun here even if you have one because of the unlimited gas refill. I feel very sorry for shooting a guy too close (sorry I was very, very excited ) , they banned me for the next game which is a good thing, they enforce the rules :)

Consistently poor experiences here. Refs have poor attitudes. Mainly operated by young kids or older men who drink Monster energy drinks in their mom's basement since they've dropped out of middle school. Pricing is fair, and I say that with apprehension because I cannot find a more suitable word at the moment. They don't let you bring your own paint, which is problematic. House paintballs are extremely brittle, even for their Tippmann's (98 customs by the way)--this makes the whole experience a NIGHTMARE. Shifting my business to PSYNY in Plattekill. I've heard much better things. If not, at least I can bring my own paint.

I like to play paintball and I really enjoy the sport. This is a very good place what really makes it fun is is the fields they have 17 different fields, that is pretty good compared to some other paintball places! Also you can rent a variety of guns and gear they also have paint and smoke grenades for sale! Liberty now sells first strike paintballs I think that is pretty cool they are definitely doing well with the variety of things they sell. The refs and staff are respectful and nice I don t know why people are complaining about them they do there job just fine and will help you when they need help. The paintballs they use are pretty good quality but could be better. Overall great place I recommend it!

I love coming to this place to paintball, the only place I have been to that has a fully functioning bathroom that alone gives it 3 stars. But the fields are pretty good and not too far from the sign up area, so you will not get tired traveling back and forth.

The only downside is the food, better to bring your own and they may run out quickly if a large group shows up.

This place is awesome! The owner and manager of the field know whats up and are constantly building more and more structures and vehicles for their fields to keep them fresh and new. Not only do they have a HUGE field, but they have running water and food at the field.

They're open all year and on top of that the carry FSRs! Definitely showing love for the magfed community! You wont be disappointed after coming here and you probably wont want to go anywhere else.

I came with a reservation on a crowded day, covid restrictions weren't followed (in doors was packed no mask enforcement). My group had to wait an hour and change before getting our registration papers accepted because the kids at the front desk used the same computer to process us as walk ons making the reservation feel pretty useless. Refs were friendly and tried to compensate for manager double booking fields but weren't good at paint checking.

If you don't mind getting Covid-19 by all means go. More than 50 people were inside to pay for games, a lot not wearing masks (staff did try to make people wear masks, but I also saw staff withouth masks) and no markings to remind people to stay 6ft apart. We all stood pressed up against each other, you had no other option. No mentions of cleaning procedures anywhere.
Also, don't go for a fun time, go if you are a professional. Not at all a place for relaxed play or new players.

The good:

The good:

The fields are fantastic and there are a lot of them.

Their open all winter long.

Even went on a cold February day with spot drizzle there was still a lot of people there. Probably like 100.

The bad:

They make you buy their paint. Like $75.00 a box and the paint is medium grade. When you spend that much on paint you want the best. It's not. Lots of ball breaks.

The staff isn't very friendly.

Only have gone twice and both times There was no soap in the restrooms. The first time they didn't even have paper towels in the restrooms.

The first time I went there was a 40 to 50 minute wait in between games. Walk to the field, play one 10 minute game, than walk back to the building and hang around for 40 to 50 minutes. Was very Boring and annoying. The 2nd time I went was much better. Like 10 to 15 minutes in between games.

They do sell products, but just very basic and not much of it. Seems like a missed opportunity on their part. Don t sell o-rings or parts for fixing things when they break. Also won t really help when things do break. However they do have tools to use for when thing break.

Pray you never have the misfortune of playing here. The refs are incompetent and lazy not to mention they have rotten attitudes. My son and I are regular paintball players but had never been to Liberty before yesterday. We had a very good experience.
In the winter you have to take ski lift up to the fields - drive in other seasons.
Staff was very helpful. Special shout-out to Matt who seems to be their "tech". He was able to correct problems we were having with our guns (which we brought with us).
Pricing is fair (they are there to make a living). Food / soda / snacks priced quite reasonably.
Great fields and a variety of options.
3 Suggestions - Smaller teams for walk-ons, create more equal teams (by number of players and ability) and play than more than one game before returning inside to refill.
We will become regulars here.

Been to Liberty paintball a few times, always a fun time! Fields are larger, running water and real toilets! No porta potties! I highly recommend this field. Paint prices are on par with other fields. I would like to take the time to address reviewing cheating. Cheating is a player based and not field related, your reviewing the field they cant control a player if they want to cheat. Also if you are posting a review/rate , please , go to the field and try it yourself before you post any stars. If you haven't physically been there that's not fair to review and rate on other reviews.

The check-in process it's super slow. This place used to be my favorite place. NOT ANYMORE! Staffs are rude and helpless. The paint is overpriced and cheap quality. $70 dollars plus tax for a box of paint and it's the worst quality ever. The refs are extremely lazy. The refs won't move even when you say paint check. I won't be coming back here at all. My first time was November 2016 and I been there 5 times after. You have to call the refs a lot of time in order to get a game started. We've gone to this place 4 different times on weekends and every time the stack one team up with people who are on a professional team and some who also work there. Uneven playing field therefore avoid this place on weekends.
