LEWIS-GALE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, Salem, VA Review

One of the worst facilities for seriously mentally ill patients. The doctors and staff duct tape and release patients who clearly are set up for failure due to being too critically mentally ill to be released. Once released there is no moral conscience of the staff and doctors of the immediate failure of that patient. Lack of professional care. Last place a loved one with critical mental illness should go. Our lived one was released while still in psychosis to go through another admittance to be released in the same state. The supervisor dismissed any responsibility for such poor decisions. Beyond this, our loved one's medication was not available upon release, delving his psychosis further. These people run a business for poo for it at the expense of their commodity, who are the vulnerable mentally ill. Deplorable.

The facility is very nice with a gym, cafeteria, and art therapy room. The staff are very attentive to patient needs as well.

Help is an illusion. Remain silent. Trust no one. Always protect yourself. These are horrible human beings. The doctors are horrible. The staff is horrible. Stay away.

There are some very friendly staff and there's some that aren't.

The only thing this facility contributed to my recovery is fear. Staff lies and manipulates program in such a lazy fashion. I would rather die on the street then return for this horrific treatment.

If I could give no stars, I would. This place is AWFUL! This is the ONLY PLACE that allows other people to touch you inappropriately and treats you like a liar when you try and get help to stop the situation. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVEN THE PEOPLE I DONT LIKE. This place was a joke. The nurses cussed at me and were just completely rude and then the constant inappropriate touching that was ignored really made me too uncomfortable to be there any longer. This place is ridiculous.

Staff is very unhelpful. Went there for help and came out traumatized. Serious situations are ignored as well as hygienic upkeep. I do not recommend this place for anyone.
