We had a TERRIBLE experience with Levy Zavet. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, the lawyers here are extremely arrogant and when I complained to Jeff Levy, he dismissed every concern that we had. It takes FOREVER for them to follow up on any inquiry and in total took us YEARS to reach a resolution. There is absolutely no sense of customer service and responses are tart and rude. I would avoid Levy Zavet at all costs and save yourself an extended period of pain. Powerhouse law firm here. Did a great job figuring out I was getting into a bad deal, and saved me from lending on a property that was not what the brokers explained.
Currently looking for a real estate lawyer and came across Levy Zavet. I used them 6 years ago and had a bad experience and all the memories came back. During my inspection of the condo, I noticed that there was an oil stain in the parking lot. I brought this up and was informed it would be taken care of. On the day of closing, Jeff Levy and his law clerk informed me that the seller and his lawyer has set aside funds aside for this and all I need to do was provide a receipt to get my money back.
I literally followed up with Jeff and his law clerk for 7 months before Jeff Levy informed me the lawyer is holding onto the money and the only way to get my money back was to go through small claims court and make a complaint to the Law Society of Upper Canada. This was for the amount of approximately $250.
What's the point of a lawyer if they're not going to protect their client's interest. "Sorry, we can't help you. But you can sue them to get your money back!" Needless to say, I will not be using them again.
