Food is typical legal seafood quality and the service is good. Parking was relatively easy and the views while sitting outside are not bad.

Very good food, well prepared. Crab cakes were great!
I always get the crab cakes, which are large & pure crab, no fillets, & are the best!
Always tremendous about allergies. Food is always great!
Great restaurant with its newest location in assembly row in Somerville. Always fresh seafood. My wife loves the watermelon crush martini. They use fresh cut watermelon smashed up with simply syrup and organic vodka. Very tasty! Best crabs anywhere in bvb the United states hands down. It's all crab no fillers. Boullanais is great. Steamers as nd jumbo shrimp cocktail very good.
Lot's of gluten free options.
They have menus with little wheat symbols that show items that are either gluten free or that can be modified to be gluten free. I was surprised by how many items that could be ordered gluten free. I'll admit, I was suspicious about the items that were fried that stated that gluten free options were available. I don't know how that could be possible, but did not remember to ask the server for more details since I was there for lunch and considering the salad options.
I chose the crab salad. It was a deconstructed salad that included tomato wedges, half an alvacado, egg wedges, cucumber slices and a pile of lump crab meat (about the size of a baseball. Perfect proportions for lunch and the presentation was unique. I was impressed and will definitely be back when in Boston.
Legal seafood is always great never a bad meal or service everything at all Legal Seafoods are great
The atmosphere, the service, the preparation: all wonderful. With a pleasant wait staff and scenic view of the waterfront, this restaurant is sure to satisfy your seafood craving~
I love this location! We had a gorgeous view by the water while enjoying our meal. Our server, Lisa, was very friendly and accommodating.
The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because of their lacking menu options. We are huge fans of the jasmine special and key lime pie, but they had neither. Besides this fact, it is a lovely place to dine.
The overly commercial/chain feel detracts from the experience. The food was middling and I'll be in no hurry to go back.
I just stopped in for drinks, but the bar staff was top notch. They were attentive and on the spot with the next round.
Food and service was good but parking was horrendous.
Best clam chowder on the face of the planet. A bit pricy but worth it. Fish and chips was out standing. The batter that they used was so light and airy and delicious.
The bouillabaisse was unimpressive, but the mousse made up for it on the back side. Pay for the venue and service but not the food.
Incredibly mediocre and overpriced in an area with far superior restaurants. Intriguing that Legal in other locations is much better but this one is truly average at best. From the slow service to the greasy food, what you get is not nearly what you pay for. For the same price you can get far better meals starting from next door to every other establishment in Assembly Row.
I love this legal on the mystic the best! The service is top notch. The food is great. The waiters are extremely gracias!
Came here because I read they are open late. Kitchen closes at 10pm and practically kicking us out the door by 10:30. I like legals in general because of the lively crowd but this one didn't seem to cut it this time.
A good place, but the food did not surprise. For the price, we expected more. It was not horrible experience, but because there are other places with same level of ambiance, with great food and much lower prices.
It's where I go for a special occasion or just to have good food.
Waited over an hour to get a table then my gf asked for a kids menu (she doesn't eat seafood/meat) and the waiter laughed at her and then we see him gossip to another wait didn't think was very professional. And I got streamers ik they are supposed to be a little Sandy but these look like they weren't even cleaned was very disappointed
I've been here several times and always enjoyed the place. Service is great, food is tasty. This last visit was substandard though. My girlfriend's special was missing an ingredient and then her main course was missing the vegetable! They took care of it after we pointed it out, but we shouldn't have had to, especially the missing spinach on the cod which came with rice and spinach (it was pretty obvious the vegetable was missing). They comped us the appetizer which I appreciate. I would go here again, they just seemed to have an off night. If management is reading, please pay attention to these details.
Love coming here for some appetizers and lobster bisque!
The service was exceptional! The food is always fresh and high quality!
Great food , big portions, very friendly staff. Great environment.
Food was good but service tonight was shaky at best
Excellent! Love the Rhode Island style calamari. Great ambiance, convenient location.
Great as always! Great views in Assembly Row - awesome when they have the windows up during the summer - the smell of the river wafts in. I love the Legal Chain
The restaurant is beautiful - open windows, patio, communal tables, etc. I imagine it'd be even more beautiful on a warmer evening.
Tip - If someone in your group has a handicap, make sure you request a non-bar/standard table, especially for a large party. In our party of 10, one grandmother uses a cane and another a walker. Turns out there's a bar table that can seat 10. They had to scramble to pull together tables so our grandmothers can sit easily.
The food was standard for Legals. However, the appetizers were good - fried pickles, calamari, cauliflower. Bread was a bit stale. Two out of the three wines were really good. The chocolate mousse parfait was good but would have preferred just the mousse instead of layers of whipped cream. Our server was nice but was slightly overbearing, maybe because of what happened.
Tip - My sister's friend who used to work at Legals said they only offer cleaning services as comps. Just a heads up if you ever have anything spilled on you!
It's funny how bad first impressions last. The food was good, but I can only think about having a tray of drinks spilled all over me and how poorly they tried to resolve it.
The bourbon mule is perfect! The fish in a bag is flavorful & delicious. The fire grilled salmon is also very good. I love the mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach.
It was annoying enough having to deal with a menu with very little options due to the corona, however if I m going to pay 50+ for a lobster I expected it to be fully cleaned and boiled correctly. After cracking open my lobsters chest the inside was full on green and had an odor to it. It s almost like the two lobster I was served was sitting for ages and they just chose to serve it. My rice was dry and so were the fries. Seating outside was horrible because they had very little umbrella for everyone to sit under, we were under the sun the entire time. some umbrella were broken and so was a table and I m assuming the bald guy who was trying to fix the table with the bandage on his head right in front of everyone while they were eating was the manager which was unprofessional bc things like that you do it privately In the back somewhere and not at the front entrance of the restaurant. Our waitress was kind and friendly. However if you re going to charge, the service has to represent what s being paid for.
Love this location, service and food are excellent!
Shannon my waitress was outstanding. The excellent and friendly service will make me go back
Legal has deteriorated recently, if this restaurant is emblematic of what legal has become I will be avoiding the chain.
Outdoor seating and no lines. Great service and friendly staff. Food was good.
Love Legal! They have the best grilled shrimp...and have never been disappointed.
Lobster rolls good, service good, fish n chips not beer battered, so a bit disappointed.
A good restaurant. Reasonable prices for good seafood. they also have an impressive kids menu, with much more than the usual chicken fingers and cheeseburgers.
Good clean food. Very good flavor, awesome post workout meals thay have plenty of protein.
A bit pricey, but worth it. Great gluten-free options. Excellent seafood. Beer selection could be a bit better.
Medford's seafood restaurant. The food is slightly missed compared to the atmosphere
I had the worst Legal Seafood meal at this location 08/20/20. My Cajun salmon (ordered medium) with a skewer of lemon butter scallops and broccoli (ordered well cooked) was served with the salmon practically raw and without seasoning. Cajun seasoning was oddly set on the table in a stainless-steel cup. WHO DOES THAT??? I sent my meal back explaining to the server that the salmon was almost raw and asked why they gave me Cajun seasoning instead of cooking the salmon in it. The server apologized and took my dish. I told my sister to continue eating her Caesar salad with grilled shrimp.
I couldn't even eat bread because it was rock hard. I tapped the bread on the table for the server so he could hear that it sounded like a rock. He apologized again and got more bread.
The salmon reappeared about 20 mins later. This time - well done, still without Cajun seasoning, and now with raw broccoli. I pulled the scallops into my bread dish. I asked the server to remove the salmon and instead requested another skewer of lemon butter scallops. My sister's meal was ruined as she waited while I twice received improperly prepared meals and now watched me eat scallops off a used bread plate.
Someone who never identified herself appeared w/the 2nd skewer of scallops about 20 mins later. She offered a hollow apology while simultaneously avoiding eye contact. She disappeared and never returned. The scallops were without lemon butter sauce and slightly undercooked.
The meal was so bad that they comped the entire check. I expected a camera crew to pop out before we left saying it was a practical joke.
I d eaten there before and received great service/food. While our server was exceptional, the manager was unprofessional, and the kitchen staff were surely all culinary school failures (at least that night). We also dodged little flies around our table the entire time. There was NOTHING that would tempt us to return to Legal on the Mystic. I gave one star because zero is not an option.
Absolutely stunning food. Seafood done properly - portion sizes are good for those with a large appetite so skip a starter if you're not sure.
Waited for 5 minutes. Nobody greeted us. I felt I was uninvited.
Good food. Loud on a Saturday evening. Tables can be close together, but the 2 person booths are great.
The prices have gotten very very high the stuffed seafood was dry and had too much Sherry in it the Desserts and Drinks the drinks were week the desserts were small and overpriced the view the restaurant the location is great the service was great the food and the prices too much too much
The food is excellent, everything is very fresh. Nice selection of cocktails. Only downside, the tuna steak was in no way seasoned, however the cooking was good.
As always, legal does not disappoint. Recommend you try to get a table outside during the summer!
Great Seafood, busy bustling atmosphere. Service is very good and this being my 2nd visit would recommend it!
Not bad. Small portions for what you are paying. Wait staff needs some more training. Earl's just around the corner is so much better!!!
Nothing's better than a couple of cold ones and Legal Sea Food's clam chowder!! The fisherman's plate was nicely split in 2 by the kitchen. Me and my partner were completely full and 100% satisfied with our plates as always at LSF
We never have a bad food experience at any legal sea foods
Excellent food and solid service. A great place for a quick bite before or after a movie, but also satisfying for a leisurely, lingering meal. Relaxed and casual. We're frequent customers.
