I cannot praise the care and attention Given to my wife highly enough during her recent stay on Wards L6 and L7,also the same shown to myself and my family.Iwill never forget them.

Obviously long wait at a&e at nighttime but good service.

The only hospital I feel comfortable taking my son to. Staff actually listen and respond to what I say.

Very very poor experience. Waited for 7hrs+ in a waiting room to be given attitude by staff members once finally attended to and to be told information I already knew, to then be discharged in the exact same condition as I walked in there with, having been given 4 tablets on the way out and no prescription to follow up on these initial medications despite doctors advising this. Very disappointing

Xray pre arranged thru gp. Turned up on Sunday morning and was back out within 25 mins... amazing and staff are always lovely.

What can I stay - lovely pleasant experience, thankyou! Over the last month, we've been admitted to L51 (cardiac ward) twice and both times our stay has been wonderful. The staff, the environment and the food has been amazing and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the key workers on the ward for the wonderful job they doing in helping their patients. Keep it up guys!

I just recently had a Eblilation procedure at LGI by the brilliant Mr Hogarth and would like to thank all members of LGI staff particularly Ward 14 for ensuring my stay was five stars, Well done the NHS is brilliant

They went above and beyond a job... All the intensive care staff and fantastic surgeons saved my sons life when he had a fence through his head n obliterated his eye...
Mr Carter, Andrew, Adrian and Steve along with the others that took care of him I'm indebted to... Thank you is not sufficient...

Spent 2 and a half months on Cardiac ward after a lifesaving heart operation. Everyone i came in contact with was amazing and couldn't do enough to help you these people deserve the upmost respect and appreciation. Pay them what they deserve

Staff been extremely rude, the actual hospital toilets just discusting . When I came there was a pregnant girl which she been sitting there for 8 hours already they kept her waiting when finally called her name her mother told us she had a miscarriage.
All the nurses I ve spoke basically told me to sit down and wait, or just completely ignored by ...

Was taken to a&e weds 1pm after xrays moved to day ward and doctor finally came at11pm 10hrs later

I attended A+E this afternoon with some very concerning symptoms. Due to the potentially serious nature, I was taken immediately from the waiting room and was seen by a specialist nurse within minutes, followed swiftly by a CT scan, blood tests and an ECG. Shortly after this I was seen by a neurologist, who reassured me all the tests were normal. I want to thank all the fantastic staff that treated me in a highly efficient and friendly manner. All in all, I was in and out of the department in around 2 hours. Thanks for all your hard work!

All the emergency department staff it's a joke,they left my mum screaming and crying for 7 hours keep forgetting to give her a stronger painkiller. I'm shocked. Disgusting!hope I neve need help from them. Still don't know what's happen to my mum, they need to study more and be more sensible with old people. Shame.

My boy born is there. This hospitals staff like friendlly. Now I m in india. So....

My child has regular appointments here at the childrens outpatients dept. and can't fault the staff. The care they give is second to none. They are so welcoming, efficient, very friendly and always happy to help. Had to have a week stay here one time and they couldn't do enough for my daughter and ourselves, keeping us constantly informed of results and procedures. We had to travel quite a distance so they made sure we were able to stay for the whole week with her, including organising free parking. Excellent care, thank you for all your hard work!

Staff I saw wasn't helpful at all. GP recommended us to go to A and E for the removal of pencil lead from 6years old skin. They asked us to wait for more than 3 long hours just to say they can't do anything for that. As they knew thats not the right time/place then they could have informed
earlier without asking us to wait so long..

The doctor I saw was not friendly at all, and did nothing to help me.

Great nurses at this hospital. Really go above and beyond. They ALL
deserve a pay rise!!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, wouldn't recommend it to anyone they treated me and my partner like crap , I am pregnant and didn't help us at all made us worry for days, both Sunday and today, they didn't help at all and got us waiting for hours for THEM TO NOT HELP US .. I will never go here again I will be off to a different hospital they need to sort themselves out!! DISGUSTING PEOPLE'!!

The A&E department is incredibly good. Been in twice in the past couple of years due to different injuries, and from registering you to seeing you I've had a quick, efficient service. I can't sing the staff's praises enough.

I've spent a long time in LGI in recent years, and cannot find fault with staff, no matter how busy, their treatment and care has been impeccable.

went to leeds general infirmary when my son fell down stairs. i have to say the staff were FANTASTIC! they were polite, helpful, friendly and with a sense of humour. i reaally couldnt fault them at all. they made an upsetting experience so much better

Unfortunately I have 2 children who dance. So we're hear ever other month with injurys. We're always seen pretty quick usually around the 2 hour mark. The only down side to todays visits is they've took the cash mashine from the jubilee wing.
I did not know this and had no cash to get home in a taxi, my daughter had badly damaged her foot and couldn't walk. Lucky we saw a friend who give us a lift
Please reconise this cash mashine is needed. Many people will be in the situation I was in tonight.

Clean. Care was great. Expensive food and rubbish car parking facilities.

Out of five staff, one is a gem, as for the others they need communication skills.

The staff were extremely friendly and very talkative with the patients, they really cared for me when i had anxiety about needles, they talked me through it, gave me advice and before i knew it the blood test was done. They were excellent and even though i don't want to end up there again if i do have to go i wont be making too much of a fuss and i certainly wont be disagreeing with seeing some of the staff again too.

This hospital is very lovely especially ward 40 the nurses and doctors are very lovely helpful and kind

Went to the spinal unit in April. Thoracic joint problem. Halfway through my treatment in October sent back to Huddersfield .lied to for 3 months by spinal unit staff and manager. Doctor reffered me back to Leeds. Sent to seacroft now told I will have 6 week wait for same injection I started at l.g.i. then up to another 14 weeks for final treatment. I've been house bound for 18 months now with no end in sight. Disgusting treatment. Pals are no help only do what hospital say a waste of time. The trust have no control of this or any of there hospitals.

Nice big hospital in the city center old buildings but good facilities parking is a problem

To all the critics here - blame the government for the shortfalls in the NHS, not the hospitals themselves! The overworked, underpaid staff are working to the best of their ability with what they have. Oh dear, the patients don't like having to wait around to be seen? Then kindly Foxtrot Oscar to a private hospital and pay for your care - especially the health tourists who come here for no other reason than to get medical care at the expense of the British tax paying public!

Rohit Kamath - so you begrudge a doctor a couple of minutes to eat during what is highly likely to be a 12+ hour shift? Your time is so important that you can't spare that? If you don't like the waiting time, go private. If there was nothing wrong with you anyway, why go in the first place? The NHS is stretched beyond its capacity, waiting times will be long, this has to be accepted. Until people use the healthcare system properly and it gets the government funding needed, things are unlikely to improve.

My Daughter is under Professor Kaye, and he and his team are absolutely fantastic and have been for the last 5 years and still until this day she is still his patient,LGI is a fantastic hospital all staff are friendly and very helpful!!

Great Staff. Great accessibility. if you have minor injuries you can easily expect a 2 - 4 hour visit although this will differ depending on what treatment you need/if your taken in overnight/admitted. Would also add they have a extremely caring Paediatric Ward from my experience and You leave knowing you've been in The best hands.

Excellent care, had a heart attack and cardiac arrest, ultimately I had a stent put in and cannot fault the care one bit absolutely fantastic 10 out of 10 thankyou.

Thankyou for the excellent care that you gave my husband while in your care on the 10th of this month, he was in for metal work removing and a non union of bone sorting, and double metal work replacing the existing, we've lived a terrible life for three years, my husbands had all his dignity removed from himself due to the some staff at pinderfields, but I just carnt thank dr David limb and his staff and the wonderful nurses on hdu that really did care for my husband, were only two week in and it's the first time my husbands been able to move his arm in three years!! Words carnt describe how thankful we are to you xxx

My mum got rushed to LGI on Wednesday from a stroke ,she got a very fast response from the ambulance and they saved her life which we are very thankful for. She got moved to ward 21 we are very pleased with the service overall. Staff are very loving and caring they give the best care they possibly can they always made her feel welcome and appreciated they were willing to help if she needed it very responsible staff and very pleased with them!! Doctors are also very helpful, kind and respectful.
Keep up the good work.

I received fantastic round the clock care from consultants, doctors, nurses and many students on Jubilee Ward L24 after a successful operation to remove a brain tumour. I'm back home now and so hugely grateful ...you are all amazing

Was seen to fairly quickly and the junior nurse who assisted me was very helpful. Service was better than what I received for a similar I jury in Lincolnshire.

Excellent care by accident and emergency registrar, Paediatric surgical team (Omar, Ahmed , Mr Turner and team), Radiology reg (Adam) and nurses from Ward 9 and Ward 42 for my son . Thanks.

Joke of a children's hospital. Went into A and E waiting for 4 hours and then sent to children's ward for another 5 hours. Discharged with no explanation. Beyond a joke and staff are not helpful at all. So much staff and 3 children in the ward. Don't understand why it took so long!

I had a short stay at the hospital for major surgery.
The missing star is for the hospital toilets near costa that I used before getting the the ward. It was seven in the morning they were in a terrible state I had to wipe urine off the toilet seat so I could use it.
The costa area looks good, the areas up to the wards are tired and the lack of money for cosmetic maintenance is clear.
The theme of running the best they can on an empty bank account is clear.
The complaints about wait times, well the NHS funding model is broken they need more Money.
The staffs professionalism, commitment, drive and amazingness are second to none.
The staff deal, short staffed, over worked with situations and a work load that is nothing short of unfair. Keep up the amazing work if it helps even slightly I appreciate you more than you will ever know.

Been here twice with my son who's only 8 months old, each time for something rather serious and last time we waited 11 hours on a chair to then be admitted and this time it's been 8 so far and nothing has been done as there is one doctor who's dealing with an emergency, if someone was to need immediate help, there is no one and I mean no one qualified on the children's unit to do anything. You would think sick children would be staffed correctly? Joke!

this map is no use to man or beast
to the clever person who i suppose was handsomely paid to do it ,try putting detail on the map such as naming the wards on the map ,durr.so people can find where they need to get to and then maybe find a place to park nearby,
not having a clue where you are heading does not help you to park nearby if you have mobility issues.

I have been in a&e at this hospital and i have been in and out the best hospital

Ward sister kept saying she knew me from somewhere, I had never met her before. Then a rather rude male doctor in A and E, said yeah alright we'll give you the paperwork you need for your accident, so you can claim. On another occasion I waited over ten hours with a badly infected kneecap, got told to go immediately by my GP, or risk have my leg amputated. After waiting all day and night I just left.
Nurse who took my blood was competent. The porters work hard, everyone else is on their phones or talking. Just rubbish service. if you're a strong looking man, the Triage system will mean you won't get seen. I saw countless others get seen before me and they didn't look Ill at all. Get off your phones, and run around the corridors to lose weight, and speed things up is my advice to the Negligent Health Service.

My daughter was seen in A&E and then in the assessment unit after being hit by a car on her bike. All the staff we met were kind, efficient and thorough. Dr Mokhtar Ahmed (sorry if the spelling is wrong) in the assessment unit was very kind and gave her helpful advice for care after her accident. Many thanks to all the hard working staff who treated my daughter.

Brilliant staff. Seen in reasonable time when we've needed to go to A&E with the kids. The only problem is the poor parking (reviewed separately).

Put through to medical records on hold then was cut off

Possibly the very worse A&E department in the civilized world!

Mature Disabled man in clear pain and his same sex partner subject to disgraceful retaliation by staff while like most of us questioning the very very poor lack of professionalism and lack of duty of care.

If you value your dignity and health, and sanity Do Not go to this A & E in West Yorkshire you are far better off elsewhere!

Thank you so much to the lovely lady who came to our rescue on Wednesday 20th September at the Merrion Centre Leeds, the support and kindness you gave myself and my husband was amazing thank you. I would be so grateful to anyone who knows this wonderful lady would pass on my gratitude to her, she works at the brotherton wing at Leeds Infirmary, I think her name is Lin??? My husband is in a electric power chair he can't walk or transfer so he depends totally on his chair to get him about, his chair just stopped in the middle of superdrugs and it wouldn't move it was broke , this lovely lady helped me push him to Morrisons, she arganised with the staff to look after my husband till I went to get transport to take us home, this remarkable woman with her professional skills managed to calm my husband down who was in a terrible state, I thank this wonderful lady from the bottom of my heart and would just like to say LGI are so lucky to have such an amazing member of staff. Ward 25 good staff made my stay good and the food was ok but something needs to be done about the tv

My sister had a surgery at the LGI, it was for scoliosis, she recovered really well and the staff took really good care of her

I arrived at 9:45am, checked in and then I was immediately seen for the initial assessment. Within minutes, I was wheeled through for an X-Ray, results were given and I was back out within the hour! All the staff were so friendly, helpful and professional, I couldn't believe how quickly everything was done and I'm very grateful to have this service available at my need! Thank you NHS - you're incredible!

ENT department gets one star for telling me that no treatment was needed as the medical problem was not there! Apparently it had miraculously disappeared. However it hadn't and it still hasn't disappeared or even improved. What a shame, so many great and dedicated staff in the nhs and it's being let down by a few snooty staff that have an inability to be polite to a child!

I came in on Sunday having suffered from a stroke, don't know the name of the surgeon of staff but the surgeon gave his Sunday up to operate, life savers couldnt thank them enough also shout out to the paramedic team who took me first to pinderfield and then waited and took me to lgi in that all important time frame, lastly but not least to all on ward 21 ,thankyou your all amazing

My son spent time in the High Dependence Unit at the LGI on ward 7 after he had a brain tumour removed, the care he received was outstanding and big thanks to Emma and all the team.

If I could give this place 0 I would. Wife needed brain operation. Dr's said needs to be done asap. Got it done.

Recovery on ward 24 are terrible. Half the staff in the ward don't work on the ward.

No one will take responsibility for anything.

If I'd of known how bad it was here I'd of never let her in to have it done here.

I called up to seek advice on which destination was most efficient to be seen at for a minor injury.
The RUDE man could not physically wait to get me off the phone and as hanging up after refusing to answer any questions or give any advice , advised me "you will have to google", making the assumption i definitely had access to the internet!
This is a disgusting level of service, particularly as these people are who our kids are aspiring to become. An utter joke. I hope he gets sacked

Had a booked ct scan today in jubilee for abdomen & pelvis after managing to get a cancellation. Was my first ct and as a young person who s never had a cannula before was quite nervous, but wanted to post as all of the staff were so lovely to me. I mentioned my fears having had a difficult blood test recently where my nurse at my doctors couldn t get blood out of me so was prodding for a while. Had cannula put in today so the contrast could be put in for the scan and it went straight in no difficulties, the nurses really put me at ease. They also helped me to put my jacket back on so I was warm whilst I waited to be called into the scanning room and when I said they were really good at putting the cannula in and didn t hurt as much as thought they said they were all thankfully quite good at darts in the department
Waited to be called for about 5 mins and the scan with the contrast took about 2 minutes in total, the whole experience was much quicker and not painful or distressing as thought it could be. The experience of having ct scan today went as well as it could have done and just wanted to express thanks to all staff in the department for making me feel at ease throughout.

Amazing staff! The only reason I can walk today is because of them. Good craic and a cheery bunch. Yes you have to wait, but the service is stretched to the max. Appreciate the care I had and the ability to get on with life.

Very poor overall. Visited here 3 times in the last decade. First time with very serious injuries - hurried in the shower while too weak to move. Placed on a bed covered in other patients blood. Sent home with missing clothes - nobody explained what happened. Nurses very rude when I asked them about this. After a couple of hours wait, sent home with pyjamas too small (fly had no button, I walked the streets outside for over an hour in order to find a taxi)

Second time: Wrong appointment time given. Wrong part of my body described in notes. Luckily after 2 hours wait the surgeon did manage to fit me in for an x-ray on my hand (not elbow!)

Third time: broken toe misdiagnosed (not x-rayed or scanned). Doctor took a stethoscope hearing over thick sweater not bare skin. Wrong blood tests ordered. Specialist refused to visit. I would not recommend this hospital, to the point I will refuse treatment here in future. No "friends & family test" given - they knew exactly how poor my care had been. St James is much better.
