Grounds have a lot to do. Maze and grotto are great
The path from the enterance to castle grounds is amazing..a beautiful castle and a moat surrounding it is such a treat ...
The maze is the one we should never miss out... have been there thrice and still would love to go there ....
Gorgeous. Like something out a postcard. Recommended staying in the castle if you can, having the run of the place without the velvet ropes once the tourists leave is an experience and a half!
Superb!
Also did a segway experience while I was there which was fantastic
Superb castle, beautiful surreoundings. A bit pricey, and does not work with National Trust or English Heritage but totally worth it because you can come back to it all year
Such a beautiful setting. The staff are all very friendly & knowledgeable. Lots to do for children.
Really beautiful, can spend all day here, and more!
very nice domain also fun for the kids. entrance on the high side
Castle of different dynasties from 890. Very well renovated, with many pieces of furniture from various eras. Beautiful gardens with moat boat ride. Unique collection of collars for dogs of various ages and sizes. More
Absolutely outstanding!
I visited Leeds Castle as part of a larger tour, what a marvelous location.
Great day out, with or without kinds.
The castle is beautiful and the grounds massive.
It is very well kept and there is plenty to do (could spend a full day) so it is in fact good value for money.
Plenty of activities for kids as well, including a huge castle-like playground and mini golf.
Don t bother with the train and boat rides though, it s much nicer to walk around.
The only negative thing would be the food options (didn t look great/smelt greasy).
Overall I thoroughly recommend a visit (just 1h30 car ride from London).
Amazing castle set in incredible grounds with plenty to see and do, and some lovely places to eat as well.
We'll set out, lots to see. Food and drink sold at high prices so recommend that you bring a picnic. Children's play area made like a wooden fort was enough to keep young children entertained and maze was 'very tricky' with a spooky grotto under it.
We came for the fireworks display. Was a great evening overall.
That said the food was well prepared and tasted great with staff at the stalls getting through the customers quickly. There was also a large selection of food to choose from at 20+ stalls. Prices were pretty much consistent across the board.
Getting in to the venue was easy and straight forward. They had easy access for wheelchairs and venue marshals were visible throughout the site.
The only real let down of the evening was when trying to leave. It was marshalled well during the day, but at closing it became a bit of a free for all with no clear direction being given.
It was nice to see this year though that they closed down one lane of the roundabout to allow traffic to flow freely out of the road once you were lucky enough to get off the site itself that is.
Would recommend a visit but if possible park your car away from site and go in by foot.
Pros:
-wheelchair access
-lots of marshals
-over 20 food stalls to choose from
-fun fair for the kids
-lots of toilets (low waiting times)
-Beer tent with a live band
Cons
-very expensive food
-free-for-all when leaving the venue
-angry customers trying to barge past other cars to get out first. Almost knocking us over when trying to push past a car.
I would seriously reccomend that they leave more marshals on site and coordinate the end of the evening a lot better rather than have them playing with their phones when they are needed the most.
Was wonderful! If you want some good time for you and your family you need to go there!
This is a lovely day out with the family. I would plan to spend the entire day here. Pack all picnic and enjoy it.
Fab value for money, already been 3 times since buying tickets
Great day out in the new year. Allowed to come back again during the year. Amazing grounds in which to wander.
A nice place. A beautiful castle. Beautiful landscape. A lot of positive emotions. He fed the birds, they even ask for ice cream .....)))
A bit expensive in my opinion but a must go! Structure is well maintained and nice to visit with beautiful landscapes.
Lots of walking lovely scenery..and two big castle themed play grounds for the kids plus a crazy golf course..
Beautiful castle with fantastic staff - friendly and helpful.
A Really beautiful castle with gardens ponds,birds,playground...but expensive
Great place with various different things on throughout the year
Unreasonable prices. Most expensive cultural location ever.
They justify the price saying is an annual ticket and you can access whenever you want during the year. Which makes total no sense.
If I m a tourist travelling from France, US, Canada or anywhere else there is NO OPTION for a daily normal ticket at a normal price.
Really a shame.
Great place, castle is very Beautiful. Only thing is we found the entrance fee to be a little steep especially when we came as a family, it was an expensive day!
Absolutely fantastic place, interesting history, lovely castle and grounds, not just the castle itself..! the gardens and atmosphere are inspiring, the landscaping was amazing...!!
Leeds castle is a fantastic tourist attraction steeped in history, in my opinion, well worth visiting.
Love the new play areas. Wheelchair friendly with carer to assist
Beautiful castle and grounds with a huge play area + maze for the kids! Go there often.
Simply breathtaking. Stunning location and rich history. A do not miss for castle lovers.
beautiful grounds with a nice play area for younger and older ones.
Beautiful place! Such a nice relaxing peaceful day out. Very helpful for disabled visitors.
Huge gardens and beautiful castle. Large parking lot also enough space for buses. Separate counter for group tickets.
We had great fun exploring around the grounds, and my 2 year old's attention was held for a surprising amount of time round the castle. Next time we go we'll check out the aviary and maze. Wish us luck.
I love coming back to this place monthly for a walk around the grounds and to see what new displays are up in the castle itself. The annual ticket is such great value for money when it is so close by
Beautiful estate, fabulous day out with a years pass.
Beautiful castle with lovely grounds, very good facilties for disabled people.
Lovely grounds and although school holidays it did not feel overly crowed. The castle is nice would recommend the audio guide to enhance the experience .
Lovely day out at Leeds castle! Will definitely be visiting again!
Stunning grounds. Expensive but ticket valid for a year
Attend the classical concert every year possible. Love it!
Great outing for the day. The castle is a treat especially if you enjoy history. The ground are large enough to spend the day exploring and wearing out the little'uns. There is a good selection of activities throughout the year. All in all a great visit.
A beautiful place to visit, so much to learn and do. Also has a great adventure playground for kids
Have seen more beautiful locks but still a great area
My review is based on two visits to Leeds Castle, the first being a trip visiting the actual castle which is a great day out for families. The castle is very interesting but there was also a good playground for children, lovely gardens to walk around and the day we went they were showing a very interesting Battle of Britain exhibit. There are plenty of places to get food and drink. Our tickets will enable us to visit the Castle for a year so good value if you have time to return. It also enables you to have free entrance to some of their special event days such as their Christmas market which is my second review. We had another good day there as they had a fun fair (quite expensive rides however), plenty of food stalls and other items to buy. Unfortunately the day before we went they had torrential rain which made the car park and walk to the fair very muddy indeed so I would recommend wellingtons if this happened again.
We were there during the flower festival. Would visit agai
Lovely day out for all the family. We go at least once a month so the yearly ticket works out great value for money. Take a packed lunch if you don't want to spend a small fortune on food!
Excellent. Lived up to my expectations.
Come in the afternoon to avoid the bus tour crowds.
Absolutely magical. What a wonderful day out. The gardens are beautiful, the maze is amazing and the falcon display breath taking. Don't miss the restaurant over looking the castle. Food and view great.
Went to watch the fireworks, which were really good. Lots of food and drink stands. Car park was a total different story. No staff/marshalls directing the traffic, just complete chaos. Took over an hour to get out while the car park stewards (the couple I did see) stood around chatting.
A nice day out but be careful when you go. Its very popular with coach loads of foreign tourists and the food and drink prices are extortionate. If they charged normal price, they might sell more. We wont be renewing our passes because of this.
Amazing place, exceptional food and beautiful rooms
Worth visiting and spending the afternoon. The views are amazing.
Really stunning setting and very beautiful castle. A great day out with family and a must for any visiting family or friends. Extremely child friendly and very educational. In addition to the castle there are wildlife exhibitions and many physical activities for children.
