I live in Alexandria, VA in a lower income neighborhood. Lee contractors came in during a windstorm and sat in thier trucks multiple days in the neighborhood without touching a single powerline. This is a mobile home community. So thin walls, poor insulation, freezing children, water pipes bursting, fridges spoiling. And all this while the linemen from Lee's sit in thier trucks and play on thier smartphones.
I understand the work is hard, happens in rough conditions, and when you are without power patience can be hard to muster but there is no possible way this is the pace of work in their own community. Watching them spend the first day in trucks till it came time to 'clock out' and head back to their hotel was frustrating enough. We are on day 3 and the 12 of them are walking in the same circles, pointing at the same damaged utility poles, going through the same thing they did 3 days ago with no progress made. I am tempted to write business letters to Dominion Energy, BG&E, Pepco, and SMECO to refuse granting contracts to Lee if this is the professionalism they display for a community in need.
