The layout of the station is a little confusing, and it's a bit worn and dirty, but as of right now it's a very useful station. I hope they will refurbish it as part of the (in-progress as of time of writing in 2020) Green Line extension.

Construction on the Cambridge side of the much-anticipated Green Line extension from Cambridge into Somerville and Medford is expected to start in the spring and be completed by December 2017, according to Mary Ainsley, senior director of design and construction for MassDOT. It looks like still under construction. Convenience place to get on the train.

The new station and extension will be across the street in near future.
There are no bathrooms at this stop.
Bus #69, #80, #86, #87 located on highway side.

Lechmere Station is an important transit stop

Lechmere Station is an important transit stop
You can get bus service here towards Arlington covering Somerville area. Similarly towards Harvard and Clarendon as well.
This transit stop helps in covering Cambridge not covered by red line.

Stop also serves E line which goes all the way to longwood medical area and other universities and prudential.

This line also helps you to get to musuem of science

This stop is also important if you are visiting galleria mall. There is an underpass which let's you right into galleria mall path
Route is well guided

Students of hult also prefer this stop at times

Its a rugged stop and needs lot of repair.
Bus way seems to be old and needs restoration immediately

Roof leaks and passenger waiting area becomes super cold at times
I hope MBTA will look into it sooner than later

Despite the fact that I use this stop each and every day, I wish the stop would have an enclosure for the winter. Or at least an updated timetable so the transit apps are more accurate.

Poorly designed station. There are two separate platforms and to reach the opposite platform, you will have to exit the station, cross a walkway directly under the train tracks, and then re-enter. The station is also not temperature controlled. We waited 15 minutes in below freezing temperature before the train finally arrived.

Can't wait for the Green Line Extension to Somerville/Davis Bus Connection to be completed. Hopefully the proposals of at least extending the C Branch from North Station to Lechmere will be followed through... although it would be nice to have all branches serving all stations between Copley and Lechmere. It would be so much more convenient to be able to travel the entire Green Line (Lechmere to Riverside) without having to switch trains at Copley or Kenmore...

This is a terminal station on the MBTA Green line E section. The station doubles up as a bus terminal as well. The station seems like a train yard and it doesn t have a proper building as such. It s located on First Street @ Cambridge Street which is a very popular location and hence the station doesn t fit in with the surroundings of the beautiful city of Cambridge. Also get down here at Lechmere and then walk ahead if you want to go to a Best Buy store.

A simple, rather barebones station, shaped like a looped where passengers exit on one side onto the busway and enter on the other. This station offers connections to four bus lines: 69 (Harvard Station via Cambridge Street), 80 (Arlington Center), 87 (Clarendon Hill or Arlington Center), and 88 (Clarendon Hill).

Note: If getting off at this station, you will have to pay again as there are no gates on the alighting side.
Tip: If you want a choice of seat, get on the first car. As the second car is right in front of the fare gates, most people tend to hop in there.

Ive been going to this station since i was a kid, and it hasn t changed much. Its currently the beginning of the green line in somerville, but there are plans to expand stops into the medford square area. The station looks its ago, but it has been been given real time arrival boards. Its a great hub to get downtown or local somerville buses.

Please don t be fooled. This place looks like a crack house but it s actually a subway and bus stop. Almost every other stop on the MBTA has been renovated in the last twenty years but this one must be the worst one ever.
