LE SUFFREN HOTEL&MARINA Review

Good value for the money, nice and service minded staff.

2nd time at Le Suffen with family... Was nice and we were given an upgrade in a Superior room, which was great! Housekeeping and receptionists were fantastic! Very friendly! However, the buffet was disappointing... Exactly the same bland food for 2 nights in a row!
The staffs at the Spa were very friendly but the Gym instructor should learn how to address a guest before replacing the receptionists on the Spa reception... He quite rudely told me and my daughter we can't use the Spa pool, before apologizing as he did not know we were guests at the hotel... Well, he never asked if we were guests in the first place!! It was not a pleasant experience to be told "You are not supposed to be here" in front of other guests when in fact he was wrong!! My first stay last year was great but too bad this year the buffet and the arrogant Gym instructor had cost them 2 stars!! Otherwise a great business hotel!!

Modern-looking restaurant with decent staffs. For me, the food let me down. Their presentation was amazing but flavour-wise, I was disappointed. The sushi are ok but for the price you pay, they taste like good sushi from a cheap restaurant in Australia. The crab burger looked superb with that pink bun but the soft-shell crab was not soft and very polarising seafood taste. I had a lot of soft-shell crabs but this one was just odd. Also food took so long and the staff's excuse was "we have a big table to serve before you", i mean how's that my problem? You don't allow booking if your kitchen can't cope.

Clean and good service as usual. Was attending a meeting in La preneuse and the board room was well organised, we had pen and writing pads. Snacks and drinks were well catered for. The only negative is the parking.

Dinner at Japanese restaurant. The lady preparing the raw food is not wearing a mask, contrary to her colleague standing by her side. They are chatting and it is inevitable that she will spit over the raw food. I walked over to nicely remind her about it. I also informed the manager. It has been over 30 mins and she is still working and chatting without a mask!!!!

Newly upgraded reception and rooms. Always had a good stay at the Le Suffren. Good food, new Sushi bar.

Great place, great atmosphere, in the heart of the capital but feels like a luxurious and rich experience

Very disappointed with the service at the restaurant. Even though we paid like the other guests, we didn't get what we paid for. The breakfast was CATASTROPHIC. The waitress brought only breakfast for one person while we were two. While she explained herself only AFTER we were done, she didn't even care to apologise. The other guests was attended for while we were left aside as if we did not deserve any treatment. Reading other reviews, it is pretty obvious that some staff racially profile some guests. It also seems that nothing has been done to solve this problem until now. HOWEVER THE SERVICE AT THE RECEPTION ANDTHE SPA WERE BOTH 5/5.

Don't waste your money staying there. Its the second time I spent more than 200 Euro per night for a room with view against a wall. Bathrooms old and not very clean. In addition it might happen that the stuff acts very rude in case they have to adress something. Definately not 4 star.

Ordered a Heineken beer at noon. Got served a Blue Marlin instead. Changed, got a warm Heineken offered. Refused it and got a warm Blue Marlin served. Called the manager. No cold beer available. Fnally decided for a cold sparkling water. 4 Restaurants, 3 bars!!! Sound like a joke, but isn't.
Just got served the lamb chops. Ordered medium grilled, some ok, some overcooked. The potatoes of the potato gratin were raw, I men really raw and uneatable. Sorry, never again..

Visited December 2016. Nicely located overlooking part of the port from the rear of the hotel.
Ok Spa but spa service somewhat disappointing compared with other spa services in Mauritius. No hair dressing service anywhere. You have to go to Le Caudan with one disappointing hairdresser on 1st floor and one on ground floor which is also a spa but with limited staff and opening hours.

Lovely feel. This is a comfortable feel hotel. We only used the restaurant. The food was ok for its price point. Service was lovely .

Very nice hotel. Excelent view of Port Louis. Excellent service and friendly staff. Would recommend anytime. If you want to experience Mauritius to the fullest, this is the place to be.

The service can be slow, the room's are big and clean.The ambience in and around the hotel is very good.The hotel has GYM, SPA, swimming pool and plenty of facilities. Rate is for my overall impression

Very close to the centre of Mru so excellent business hotel. Pleasant surroundings with a great view of the harbour. Food looks fantastic and staff are friendly.

Le place is well situated.There was a show with local a artist Mr Love and the gentleman.It was a good one.After the show we had a good DJ up to 1 o'oclock in the morning.To my opinion the drinks and snacks were too expensive.
I will recommend this place for those who like night life specially on Fridays and Saturdays evening .

Wonderful place to have a business or friendly lunch staff are so helpful and parking facilities available.

Place is amazing, new set up is beautiful and cosy. However our order did take some time and food was not great for that price. Order a fish and chips but was very oily.

Had been there for happy hour. Lovely place to have a drink at, with a breath-taking view of the marina especially at sunset! Highly recommended

Suffren looks good and upmarket after the recent renovation.

Very nice, fine hotel in the port of Port Louis. We used it for an overnight stay before a cruise.
Very polite staff.
Very good breakfast with everything you need.
Unfortunately, the water taxi was broken on the first day in the morning, but the management organized a free transfer.
In the afternoon everything was fine again and the taxi started again.
Many thanks to everyone, we will definitely be back.

Very convenient and best way to experience the city life in Port Louis

On the Rocks is the place to be every Friday to relax and enjoy great cocktails. Thumps up!

This place has recently been refurbished and the rooms, restaurant and poolside bar are amazing! The staff are fabulous and so friendly and kind, the guest is treated like a king!
Special thanks to the girls on reception, also Michael, Ali and Navid. If you want anything at all nothing is too much trouble for these wonderful people
