My group got to tour the CAMS while it was closed for repairs. We got to see the beamline up close and personal (and even Congressman Eric Swalwell). It's awe inspiring to think about all the atom splitting research that goes on there. Scientists from all over the world, if chosen, do research at this facility. The best part though is that some machinery is held together by foil, yes, FOIL.
Should change name to Berkeley Lawrence National lab not Lawrence Berkeley. Then its consistent with calling it Berkeley lab.
Definitely a must when you come visit Berkeley! The view of the city and the Golden gate Bridge is breathtaking!
World-renowned laboratories create many high-value research for all humanity
Awesome place for the family! Beautiful views as well. Had a great time
Lab offers monthly tours. It's a great opportunity to learn about Berkeley Lawrence Lab.
Outstanding place for research and collaboration. Great scientists.
Typical government lab but had an amazing view of the bay.
Absolutely gorgeous view! Good place to bring someone on a date, just make sure it s not cloudy.
I got to fly a UFO and I met Elvis... what could be better?
The one of the few places in the US still doing good science instead of grant box ticking.
Amazing place for you if you are an aspiring scientist.
Fun science themed birthday party location, with gorgeous views from the grounds.
Been there , worked there .
many years ago !
They do free public tours of the Molecular Foundry and ALS, well worth it!
ALS is a must see if you like science and technology. I was so impressed that I decided to make LBNL my first choice of where I worked after graduation. The facility is way up the hill and the views up here are fantastic.
They have so much activities for the kids we had a great time but you need to plan out the whole day to get to do everything they offer definitely will be returning soon
Amazing Vista to the Bay area, fun educational activity for the kids.
Good science done here people! Must have authorization to enter. Best views of the Bay.
one of the best organizations/companies I have ever worked for. Very talented people + interesting projects :)
I'm a shuttle bus driver at Lawrence Berkeley national Lab.
Educational for children of all ages. Science, Astronomy, Propulsion and hands on experience with activities of wonder.
An amazing place of diversity and where scientific research helps the world.
Great view would be a nice place to go see for a family or friends or couples
Amazing place..the views and the people as well as the science grateful to work here
Amazing place with amazing set of people. I was just there for one week..
can i asking about carbon stoke???
how to analyze the level of storage of carbon compounds in forest??
We went here on a Monday evening to watch the sunset over the Bay. There were several other people there also. We didn't visit the buildings. Very small parking lot which had broken glass in several areas. Beautiful drive to get there. No restroom near parking. There were some clouds which we had hoped would give us a beautiful sunset, but didn't. I was disappointed somewhat because of the smog which wasn't as prevalent when I lived in the area 20 years ago. It is still a beautiful view of the Bay, Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco.
What's there to say...one of the top research institutes
Fantastically exciting place. I come to do research here. Not really a tourist destination, but if you have a way to be shown around the Advanced Light Source, you got to take advantage of that. It's the best facility in the world, not just for its location, but its energy and output.
A great place to do science while being on top of a mountain and watching the picturesque Bay area. Such a beautiful place, that no words can describe the scenic panorama we get to see! Absolutely loved being there!!!
The views from here on a clear day/night are spectacular.
Did not meet my expectations. Much better view of the bay from Grizzly peak.
This is where all the science gets done. There's a bit of a wait to get in (must complete your PhD first) and the decor is a bit bland (cubes) but after your seated, the view is fantastic and people are very nice.
One of the big laboratory in USA, under teritory of Unversity of California Barkeley.
A beautiful place for those who love science there is the good place
This is a must do for all children, folks that want to lean more in a fun environment.
Some of the best views of San Francisco bay, SF skyline, all of Berkeley.
This place is good for kids and adults. You learn many fun sciency things there, and there is a good nature walk and a view of the Bay. Play with shapes to learn about geometry and cognition. The gift shop is equally entertaining.
Tour this if you can. Tom and Adam were wonderful hosts. Bad ass scissors. There was quite an assortment of machine tools. The tools were varied in age, size, and function It was hard to fathom the complexity of the different magnet assemblies. My reviews for Google tend to be short so I am just adding words to this one. But in truth the lab tour was incredibly interesting.
Awesome day out - need to visit a few times - so much to do here
Awesome research facility. Everyone should support basic research because it indirectly improves life
Cool exhibits and lots of fun for little ones. Beautiful views too!
A Department of Energy research laboritory. Beautiful campus. Great view! Need authization to enter.
